  1. Yep, probably a couple of pages back now, and on both ours and the official site front page. Lets hope the extended hours are rewarded by selling out by sunday night.
  2. Yes, but as you know about, the club are putting in a solution in the next few weeks which will allow you to do that. I know they have looked at more than just that ie using your Mobile Phone etc.. I'm sorry Tris, but the assumption that its tough because we didnt take out the home cup scheme is totally unfair. You can plan ahead for League games, as your fixtures are announced up to 11 months in advance (unless Sky move them). Cup games are more unpredictable, as they could be home/away or at night, and people with other commitments find these harder to plan in. (ie shift swaps, work away, family reasons)
  3. Cliff Richard is the ref ?
  4. Its not just season ticket holders claiming their own seats, they are also on general sale at the same time. (you just cant buy a season ticket holders seat until friday morning). Its quicker getting through on the phone and just leaving the thing on hold, queue is currently stretching to the Bar at the far side of the Blackburn end concourse (about 75 minutes queue). NOT ALL the windows are open either.
  5. Never had a problem with postal applications in the past.. However the timescales here and the incompetance of Royal Mail means that you would probably end up at the ticket office queing for a replacement ticket. Of course Rovers are doing their best, and some of the schemes they are looking at for the future will make things easier for season ticket holders. Unfortunately, in times of peak demand with short timescales, their best isn't quite good enough. There was always the home cup scheme, which considering i've made all the cup matches may have been a better idea, in hindsight but with most cup matches being Night games its awkward.
  6. Its not that easy, when people have a day job to get on with as well. Especially if they live/work miles away from Ewood as many of the people on this site do. Even then, a lot of people cant spend an hour queing at the ground to get to one of the 3 open windows. Spending an hour on a phone isn't the answer, when your job involves you using that phone to make/answer calls and join teleconferences on a regular basis. At the very least there should be dedicated windows for season ticket holders, and the tickets should not have gone on open sale at the same time. Theres a good few season ticket holders who are struggling to get their guaranteed seat by Thursday PM.. it would be interesting to see what the clubs reaction to that will be.
  7. I've spoken to a number of people who arent happy about the Rovers ticket arrangements. Whilst its unlikely to sell out, Season Ticket holders have 3 days to claim their own seat, but because they are also on open sale at the same time the queues are around an hour both at Ewood and on the phone. Time which a lot of people cannot take due to day jobs etc. Personally I think the club should have some ticket office windows just for season ticket holders for this game.
  8. On sunday there were only 2 pubs open in Accy Centre.. There was an organised group of Burnley fans looking for Rovers in the outlying pubs. Talk is they smashed the Swan up near the old police station and they ended up being sent on their way home by the police after being photographed.
  9. Can you keep the love letters to Private Messenger rather than this thread. Anyway.. back on topic, took 5 minutes to get through all the waffle to find out there are 46 in the queue for tickets. Looks like a trip to the ticket office tomorrow.
  10. Game is definitely NOT on sky The 2 games are Sheff U v Arse and Forest v Spuds
  11. Half time plane said - Accrington Stanley - Pride of Lancashire... Nicce idea girls but about 20 years too late, but pRobably gave both teams the biggest laugh of the day. (other than maggot doing the nude breakdancing)
  12. Radio 5 are doing something about the Blackburn/Dingles rivalry this morning on the Victoria Derbyshire show. Text message just read out "Burnley fans eat bananas with their feet, thats a little politically incorrect but never mind"
  13. I'm sorry, but the mods would NEVER do anything like that
  14. Its very likely that under the new deal, that Rovers will rotate the colours on a regular basis. The red and black halved kit thing has defintely been mooted in the past and may happen in the future, but I would very much doubt it will be this year. Next season the kit will be Blue and White (sorry), and will feature a Sports World International brand. I would be very surprised if it isnt Lonsdale again. So we can knock any off that will it be Nike rubbish on the head.
  15. Especially Gav... who now shouldnt expect any favours being returned when it comes to Burnley Tickets.
  16. Why on earth would you want a copy of that game. For me its one of those games I need to forget.
  17. You want favours off Gav ???? He probably would if it meant getting a ticket. I think that Gav and Debs should just charge Tris 1 Burnley ticket for a room Des.. the facts may not lie, but this photo proves Debs does
  18. Its a BUS. The service is almost always replaced by a Bus on sundays. Do a search on http://www.networkrail.co.uk The coppers will also likely be there ready to herd you onto a special football bus.
  19. Thanks to Longsider1882 for answering the following questions What is your favourite memory from Rovers/Burnley derby Games ? Not many as I am to young to really remember the days when the clubs competed on more even footings, and we often had the upper hand (until the last 4 games we had actually won more than Rovers!!). I do remember getting chased in 82 on my new Xmas present – a shiny Raleigh BMX. Not sure I laughed at the time but looking back it seems quite funny How happy are you with your form this season ? We have far exceeded my expectations to be honest. The team have been resolute and determined if not always pretty. As with all fans though I am now looking and thinking if we could add a few decent players to the squad we could really give the play-offs a go – are you sure we can’t borrow Stead? How will losing your 2 best players in the transfer window affect your performance ? Less than may have been expected. We have so far coped very well. I think the big worry is if things are not going well we cannot change it and have nobody who can create something from nothing. On the other hand we have a French winger, Valois, who has good feet, Oster seems to be finding some fitness and of course we have just added Whittingham from Villa to add to the midfield What sort of welcome are we going to get ? Hostile, seething, menacing. Andy Todd was on loan to you last season, any comments ? Todd was outstanding for us and I think any honest Rover will admit he went back playing better. I would have loved to have been able to keep him. The main thing that struck me about the loan signing of Todd and young Jay is that, aside from a few message board posts, there was no stick and a genuine appreciation for their efforts – maybe a sign a friendlier relations to come?? Do you still have Window man doing the prematch warmup ? Will Zak Dingle help reinforce Stereotypes by doing the halftime draw again ? Zak I doubt – Window man yes we do. I like Jeff – he’s a great guy but the whole pre match experience is being ruined by the clubs determination to have Music/Jeff/PA man blasting right up until the whistle – then they expect us to simply start cheering on cue – not that I imagine there will be any issue on Sunday Who are the players to watch ? Still hoping for a striker signing, though Ian Moore has an excellent record of scoring in the Cup. Valois if at it, hopefully Oster. Mainly keep an eye on the resolute defending, especially the Kaiser (John MCGreal). Also young Cahill on loan from Villa - what a player at such a tender age What Line up can we expect on Sunday and what is your prediction ? I’d expect:- Jensen Sinclair, Cahill, McGreal, Camara Oster Grant, Hyde, Whittingham, Valois Ian Moore Effectively it will be 4 -1 – 4 – 1, though it may be a straight 4-5-1 as we now have 2 authentic wingers. Prediction – are you sure? OK 2-1 to the Clarets What advice would you give to any fan thinking of making their own way via train/car ? Don’t – there will always be idiots willing to spoil your day and everybody else’s so why risk it when there is free transport laid on. If you must then be prepared to be ‘herded’ by the police who have these things well under control.
  20. As are Rovers... from what i've been told all those found guilty in the Yorke incidents are banned for life. None of them were hardcore hooligans or anything like that, just ###### up idiots. Fact is that the vast majority on both sides are genuine football fans who would like the opportunity to enjoy the game and atmosphere without all the Burberry boys ruining it for them. For somebody who lives in middle ground, I know both Burnley and Blackburn fans and will likely be having a pint with both after the match win lose or draw.
  21. John Cooper Clarke once wrote. I'll tell you now and i'll tell you firmly I dont ever want to go to Burnley What they do there dont concern me Why would anyone make the journey ? A very good question indeed, except because of some expert ball fondling by Mark Lawrenson and Peter Reid, there is the small matter of an FA Cup Fifth round Tie on Sunday 20th Feb, and 3955 Rovers will be officially crossing the Lancashire/Yorkshire border into what posters on Clarets Mad have described as "HELL". I was going to be more charitable, but seeing as they have pointed it out then we might as well use it. Roy Collins in the Sunday Telegraph stated after the Southampton V Portsmouth cup tie that "As local spats go, this hardly matches up to the passion of the Rome derby, Celtic-Rangers or, as Southampton assistant manager Jim Smith will testify from his days at Ewood Park, the sheer nastiness of Burnley against Blackburn Rovers." This quote was more than prophetic, and now BBC viewers have a chance to witness this for themselves. There have been plenty of famous games between the 2 sides, the famous boxing day encounter at Turf Moor being the one that stands out. Simon Garner particularly enjoyed playing against them rating hitting the winner on boxing day higher than scoring 5 against Derby County. Our last meetings need no introduction, the 2-0 scoreline at Turf Moor led to widespead chaos in Burnley, and the 5-0 drubbing at Ewood on April Fools Day (how apt) was an integral part of our eventual promotion that season. Previously in the FA Cup, Rovers played Burnley on the 16th March 1960 at Ewood where they beat them 2-0 in a replay, Rovers went on to appear in the final that season. My own favourite memory of Burnley games came in the late 80's when as a young whippersnapper we got the bus from accy and watched a certain Tony Finnigan hit a screamer for us from what must have been miles out. (though in fact it was probably a tap in, but alcohol and age tend to mean things get exaggerated) The locals were certainly not amused. Finnigan is now an agent for players such as LuaLua and Jason Euell. Rovers should have a full strength squad available for the game, which should mean that Andy Todd will captain Rovers against his old club. Burnley have lost Chaplow and Blake to small midlands teams, but have Whittingham and Cahill from the Claret part of Birmingham on Loan. From our last 2 encounters Friedal is the only Rovers player certain of his place, but Craig Short, Gary Flitcroft, Matt Jansen may feature on the bench. Mark Hughes also played in both games, and will be more than aware of the hostility of this game. For Burnley only Ian Moore remains, the memory of his disallowed goal at Ewood probably also lingers. There can only be one prediction for this game. Rovers to Win... anything else is just unthinkable. Passions will be runnihg high both on and off the pitch, and hopefully we can show the rest of the UK just how big this derby is without the unsavoury elements creeping in. Q&A to follow. Let the Banter commence.
  22. Or just Ban Dan. Perhaps we should start a poll. Who actually voted for Muse.. it certainly wasnt the general public and even if that was the case it was put together by a few record execs who decide which bands to push.
  23. Tonight on BBC2 is a program covering the Suns apology <<< CLICK HERE >>> I've seen a couple of clips today, and one of the things it covers is that the Sun wasn't the only paper to run with such stories on that day.
  24. He is flying to Barca to play in a meaningless friendly on Tuesday. He had better be in full fitness for Sunday.
  25. Yes, sometime this evening.
