I'm sorry Tris, but the assumption that its tough because we didnt take out the home cup scheme is totally unfair. You can plan ahead for League games, as your fixtures are announced up to 11 months in advance (unless Sky move them). Cup games are more unpredictable, as they could be home/away or at night, and people with other commitments find these harder to plan in. (ie shift swaps, work away, family reasons)

Its not just season ticket holders claiming their own seats, they are also on general sale at the same time. (you just cant buy a season ticket holders seat until friday morning). Its quicker getting through on the phone and just leaving the thing on hold, queue is currently stretching to the Bar at the far side of the Blackburn end concourse (about 75 minutes queue). NOT ALL the windows are open either.

Never had a problem with postal applications in the past.. However the timescales here and the incompetance of Royal Mail means that you would probably end up at the ticket office queing for a replacement ticket. Of course Rovers are doing their best, and some of the schemes they are looking at for the future will make things easier for season ticket holders. Unfortunately, in times of peak demand with short timescales, their best isn't quite good enough. There was always the home cup scheme, which considering i've made all the cup matches may have been a better idea, in hindsight but with most cup matches being Night games its awkward.

Its not that easy, when people have a day job to get on with as well. Especially if they live/work miles away from Ewood as many of the people on this site do. Even then, a lot of people cant spend an hour queing at the ground to get to one of the 3 open windows. Spending an hour on a phone isn't the answer, when your job involves you using that phone to make/answer calls and join teleconferences on a regular basis. At the very least there should be dedicated windows for season ticket holders, and the tickets should not have gone on open sale at the same time. Theres a good few season ticket holders who are struggling to get their guaranteed seat by Thursday PM.. it would be interesting to see what the clubs reaction to that will be.

I've spoken to a number of people who arent happy about the Rovers ticket arrangements. Whilst its unlikely to sell out, Season Ticket holders have 3 days to claim their own seat, but because they are also on open sale at the same time the queues are around an hour both at Ewood and on the phone. Time which a lot of people cannot take due to day jobs etc. Personally I think the club should have some ticket office windows just for season ticket holders for this game.

On sunday there were only 2 pubs open in Accy Centre.. There was an organised group of Burnley fans looking for Rovers in the outlying pubs. Talk is they smashed the Swan up near the old police station and they ended up being sent on their way home by the police after being photographed.

Its very likely that under the new deal, that Rovers will rotate the colours on a regular basis. The red and black halved kit thing has defintely been mooted in the past and may happen in the future, but I would very much doubt it will be this year. Next season the kit will be Blue and White (sorry), and will feature a Sports World International brand. I would be very surprised if it isnt Lonsdale again. So we can knock any off that will it be Nike rubbish on the head.

Not many as I am to young to really remember the days when the clubs competed on more even footings, and we often had the upper hand (until the last 4 games we had actually won more than Rovers!!). I think the big worry is if things are not going well we cannot change it and have nobody who can create something from nothing. As are Rovers... from what i've been told all those found guilty in the Yorke incidents are banned for life. None of them were hardcore hooligans or anything like that, just ###### up idiots. Fact is that the vast majority on both sides are genuine football fans who would like the opportunity to enjoy the game and atmosphere without all the Burberry boys ruining it for them. For somebody who lives in middle ground, I know both Burnley and Blackburn fans and will likely be having a pint with both after the match win lose or draw.

Our last meetings need no introduction, the 2-0 scoreline at Turf Moor led to widespead chaos in Burnley, and the 5-0 drubbing at Ewood on April Fools Day (how apt) was an integral part of our eventual promotion that season. My own favourite memory of Burnley games came in the late 80's when as a young whippersnapper we got the bus from accy and watched a certain Tony Finnigan hit a screamer for us from what must have been miles out. (though in fact it was probably a tap in, but alcohol and age tend to mean things get exaggerated) The locals were certainly not amused. Finnigan is now an agent for players such as LuaLua and Jason Euell. Rovers should have a full strength squad available for the game, which should mean that Andy Todd will captain Rovers against his old club. Burnley have lost Chaplow and Blake to small midlands teams, but have Whittingham and Cahill from the Claret part of Birmingham on Loan. From our last 2 encounters Friedal is the only Rovers player certain of his place, but Craig Short, Gary Flitcroft, Matt Jansen may feature on the bench. Mark Hughes also played in both games, and will be more than aware of the hostility of this game. For Burnley only Ian Moore remains, the memory of his disallowed goal at Ewood probably also lingers. There can only be one prediction for this game. Rovers to Win... anything else is just unthinkable. Passions will be runnihg high both on and off the pitch, and hopefully we can show the rest of the UK just how big this derby is without the unsavoury elements creeping in. Q&A to follow.
