Gutted! How we didn't get the 3 points there I'll never know. Need to be winning games like this to even get close to play offs.
-
Frustrating first 25 minutes - got back into it in the end. Dack very quiet. 1-0 rovers Armstrong
-
Come on rovers!!! Got a good feeling about today! Curious about this starting 11.

How’s it ‘average’ then?
You just think more could come, fair enough.
100%. I understand the support we had when venkeys took over. This year I expected more in number especially after the run from last year. 15k -16k home fans at least - our season tickets prices are ridiculously cheap!!!

Ok, who’s our support ‘average’ in comparison to then?
Not comparing to anyone. Our support as a whole at home "i feel" could improve. Not saying its bad not saying its great! Numbers are average - Noise levels, we have to all agree, is poor. The latter is a fact.

If you consider everything that's gone on since those idiots took over the support has held up extremely well, so you're talking absolute bobbins squire.
When we get a full house for oxford and then shoot down to 13k for me is called an average support at ewood. The size of the stadium I must say Dosent help at all. Noise levels & capacity at ewood could be improved IMO - away support can't fault is really.

You've got a bite....
Home support average, go on explain that one? When 1985?
Our away support under Allardyce was abysmal towards the end, didn't we famously sell under 500 for Anfield and Old Trafford combined? 250 for City away? Similar at Everton? But we finished 10th......
Yet our home support has always stood up as an average.
I was talking currently? Last 5 years. Chill out
-
I have to agree our home support has always been average if not below average. However i must say our away support can be one of the best in the North West Region.

yes, I heard that reed was a pretty good player.... I think everyone now knows about Dack!
Awsome player! Best player for us so far this season IMO

I'm one of the doubters. Thought he was great last season! Lost his way tho since then. Personally think it's because of him & Evans Both starting in the centre - too much alike for me. (No creativity) Smallwood can show his potential when he play along side reed in the centre. See how he gets on this weekend!

Imagine sales will be over 4k by close of play Saturday, especially if we can get a positive result v Rotherham.
yeap, if we win on Saturday i feel this will sell out this time next week.

Hope we're a bit more positive with Evans out and play Reed central and play Palmer on the right. I also think Rothwell offers more than Armstrong (who has disappointed this season). Rotherham have only scored 3 goals in 8 away games picking up just 2 points so let's hope we take the game to them and start on the front foot. We don't want another drab lethargic performance like Saturday or against Millwall and Reading. Both full backs need to be changed as that has been our weak area in recent weeks. And as Mulgrew has been named in the Scottish squad you would expect that he will play this weekend.
Solid Team! Would give Brereton a shot to start tho see what the lad can give from the 1st minute. Throw Graham on if needed.
-
Looking into this one - Evans out - Surely this means Reed in the middle with Smallwood. Rothwell or Palmer out on the wings, if not both (replacing armstrong). Brereton replacing Graham and i think we will should have a comfortable win.

Only on open sale tomorrow too.
Not sure if a complete sell out is realistic, but a nice win at the weekend a week before pay day should hopefully take us close!
Yeah I think saturdays result will give us a better idea - either way we should be taking a minimum of 4K
-
1,700 sold so far...not bad with 3 weeks left

If TM takes full advantage of the talent we have then i say we have a chance around 6th-8th. If we play like we did against QPR and keep playing that sort of team selection, i think 10th-13th is more likely.

Also Kalvin Phillips. What a transformation from a raw kid to a proper unit. I'd have Harrison Reed off you and KP would look after him.
who do you support? You not a rovers fan?

Yesterday's win should persuade people to start getting their tickets. We best Rotherham we should sell out! Fingers crossed...

It wasn't pretty (but have any of our home games been?) but a good 3 points against the leagues form team. Reed is not a wide man and he is the best central midfielder at the club he can do what Evans and Smallwood do defensively just as well and he also gives you much more in offence as well. Tony needs to make a tough decision and drop one of Smallwood and Evans in order for Reed to play there. That also allows us to bring Palmer in to the team to play out wide and it will give us some much needed creativity because with the side that started yesterday had too many soldiers and too few artists.
Both full backs poor again we need to sign a right back to cover for Nyambe as Bennett is not up to the job, hopefully Nyambe will start next week. As for Bell he really is awful (I wonder at times if he is fully awake) once Charlie is back fit lets hope Tony sees sense and puts Williams to left back. I thought that Williams and Lenihan were both excellent yesterday, very dominant even against the dangerous Matt Smith. I was disappointed to see Travis not included in the squad yesterday we need to loan him out in January as he is too good not to be playing and we don't want to risk losing him permanently. I'm surprised he hasn't been given a chance at full back given how poor Bell and Bennett have been and as he showed last week he can seemingly play anywhere.
Armstrong did ok but he needs to find an end product if he wants to nail down a regular place. I thought Rothwell and Palmer both did well and made a difference, both for me should be starting. Also good to see Brereton have an impact (QPR can have no complaints clear penalty) let's hope that gives him a much needed confidence boost.
Great post

What i am saying is what i wrote. Don't embellish it. Not sure about Reed out wide - with Bennett at RB then i can understand it.
Evans and Smallwood passed forward when somebody showed for it and got free - otherwise retained posession. Some sloppy passing but not alone in that today. Some good tackling and pressuring to break up play - not helped by a ref allergic to tackling...
As said - wouldn't argue with Reed in middle but don't think Evans and Smallwood have been that bad.
What you have to understand is that we all know reeds most effective position is CM. Start him there then!? With either Smallwood or evens, yes?.. We then need palmer Or rothwell on the wing? Of course!
People saying the likes of rothwell "is not ready" "has not end product" is absolute bollocks! One of the most excitable players I've seen on the ball, In a rovers shirt in a while! He brings fire and excitement to the team! With regards to our "original Centre midfielders, Just what have they achieved together as a duo since the start of the season? They bring nothing to to the table (together) Constant side peg, backwards passing, zero movement on & off ball! Might just be me but I personally feel TM is pressured to start RS & CM together? Because of the success of last years effort??
End of the day I Hope Mowbray realises, after today's poor performance, that changes need to be made! Unfortunately I don't see this happening for the Rotherham game.

On ifollow thought it looked a pen first time. Rewatched it a few times and less convinced but definately a foul based on what todays referee was giving outside of the area...
Was a frustrating game - better finishing and it could easily have been 2 or 3. Tough weather but so many poor crossfield balls.
Diasgree about Smallwood and Evans - think they work as we have Arma, Dack and Graham to do the fancy stuff. Wouldn't argue with Reed in middle but don't think Smallwood or Evans stood out as being particularly bad today.
As for TM and "caution" - think about our back 4 today. Wouldn't you also want to protect them... ??
You think smallwood & Evans work??? So what your saying is your happy with how the line up was today? Your happy with reed on the wing & not in the centre. Happy with Smallwood and Evans playing sideways and backwards? Happy with rothwell & palmer sat on the bench? Come off it please

My bad ? But you knew what I meant

That would be Tony Mowbray you need to speak to about it. He thinks they work.
Maybe concentrate on what they can do not what they can't.
Because they were together for all of league one, I feel he's (shall we say) scared to break them up. As silly as it sounds I honestly think that's the reason!

Rothwell should of come on earlier. The lad is a machine! Think brereton needs to start against Preston. Will be a very tough game seeing as they beat Bristol city away. Hate to say it, see us getting beat on the 24th.
