Think Armstrong has one asset and that's his pace.

IMO, does not have a football brain and has a very poor touch.

Think we paid way, way over the top at £1.75million - as far as I could see, we were the only club in for him at that price which tells you something.

    IMO, not a championship player.

Agreed. His touch is awful if which i find sometime very lucky if it sits for him - His pace is his only Positive...The rest i find very average if not below.

Couldn't agree more with this.  Every manager I've seen since Jack Marshall has made mistakes, I've yet to find a manager who doesn't because like all of us they are human and not every decision will be the right one.  All managers have their own opinions on players and how a team plays and quite often that differs from supporters.

As you say, the summer will be vital for Mowbray but if he can add some experience in the right positions to what we already have - and with a glut of youngsters ready to be promoted to the senior squad - there is no reason why the future can't be extremely bright under Mowbray.  He will also know that if he can't get the right players in or money is not available then it will be difficult going forward.  This is going to be a very important summer but Mowbray has provided a platform on which to build and hopefully the owners will support him in taking it forward.

I have some sort of belief. The only thing that annoys everyone is Tony's loyalties to certain players. It's simply not good enough. This is professional football, and the main aim is to improve and win games. I see no sign on this with recent comment from TM.

I was enjoying my day until you p*ssed on my chips here.

In all seriousness though its a valid point, if he's on substantially less than players like Dack and Graham and TM is serious about playing him from now on then he probably needs to be offered another contract. He's not going to turn it down at this point I don't think.

Got it in my mind as it's to be expected. It would do more than p*ss on my own chips if it did happen. These last few games i feel may help sway his decision.

  4. I still see Mowbray can't give a Rothwell a praise with out a little dig Jesus!

"We want him running at the opposition goal rather than across the pitch a little bit more, but delighted for him?"

Strange because everything he got the ball he runs straight into their defence. Strange petty comments again from the manager!

Mixed feelings about the line up.

Bennett for nyambe is ridiculous but dack and rothwell together is an exciting prospect. Two players on the same wavelength (hopefully).

Evans and Smallwood not starting in the middle is the biggest relief of all and I don't normally advocate conway starting but can see why he's done it tonight. I don't know why Chapman and/or davenport hasn't made the bench but I'm happier than I thought I would be.

Unless Bennett costs us the game you can't argue to much with that

Oh well fingers crossed with no expectation

    COYB

I think most people were reliefed at that centre midfield! Smallwoods not even made the bench!

1-1 the game Rothwell to score

  6. Bu hey people still chant he's the king of ewood?! I've never rated him in all honesty. He worked hard in league 1, but there's not football in him. Constant side pegging and no movement what so ever. Both him and Evans are league 1 standard if not worse. They both need to go!

He was at the heart of everything good we did today. He was also one of the first players racing back to halt their wingers forays forward.

I'm a big fan of Joe and will be the first one of my feet when he scores. Like someone said he needs talent next to him so he can bounce off them. There was no nonevent at all for him today so why I thought he didn't have his better games. He needs more game time and a new coach looking after him. Most opposition fans have all said they rate him. Hence why I think he will soon be snapped up from the bigger boys in the league. He deserves better than Mowbray!

I think he’s a got some cracking finishes in him when he’s on song.

Wasn’t he playing his way back into the team at the start of January? That kind of desire is what he needs.

But he also needs to know that in this squad if Dacky isn’t playing, and Rothwell is wide, that HE is playing off DG.

    Not fucking Elliott Bennett...

I loved Benno more than most last year, player of the season. But number 10? No. Just no. He takes about five touches to do anything and then it’s crap when he’s in a forward position. That is the worst crossing I’ve seen in ages.

He’s should be a backup RB.

    Pretty much.

Hes a fantastic impact sub. He offers running and directness. It waned after about 20mins as no one else was bloody moving around him, he got sloppy, and he probably should’ve closed the ball down for their goal.

I agree with what your saying. Players can only play with what's around them. Armstong I feel shines when the likes of Rothwell is in the centre. Would like to see Rothwell in number 10 role for a full game with Armstrong outside.
