  1. Tbf Rowett would be a very good manager at League One level...but its all relying on absolutely awful recruitment. It'll be another rebuild in the summer regardless of the division Rovers are in. If Rovers went down, the only way back would be to get a proper manager who is able to influence recruitment significantly, with Gestede and Suhail (and ideally Venkys) gone from the club.
  2. They have to try something different at QPR. There are no goals in that system with these players.
  3. Thought Rovers held their own well until the first batch of changes, was impressed with Carter, Miller and Cashin up until that point. There is absolutely nothing up front. None of Ohashi, Gudjohnsen or Jorgensen are capable of playing the lone striker role. It has to be a 2 up top. Cheers Rudy. Baradji and Cantwell are absolutely infuriating. I feel like Cantwell was more bothered abut getting the Norwich fans on side than ding anything meaningful for his team. I was hoping he'd go off injured. Afolayon should some promise when coming on, but again its another player who probably isn't ready for a full 90 anytime soon. Cheers again Rudy.
  4. Although I think he'll do well for Derby, he never got played in his best position for Ipswich. Felt like they signed him for the sake of it....bit like when Liverpool took Bellamy off us, although that was more because I think they saw us as a threat at the time.
  5. Only reason Coleman would be getting considered is because of Adam Owen. If they hire him then they deserve relegation. Absolute fraud of a manager who's only real success came from riding the wave of Welsh team spirit and some moments of individual brilliance, usually from Gareth Bale, but also the Robson-Kanu goal in the quarter final vs Belgium. This is before we even consider who one of his BFF's is.
  6. Rowett in isolation sounds acceptable, but I'm concerned that we'd be appointing someone who got sacked by a team below us in the table.
  7. Further thoughts on Savage (yes I know he played down the rumours earlier today). If Rovers went down and FGR went up, then it'd make a lot more sense in my eyes to bring him in for a League One campaign, off the back of him having a 2nd promotion in 2 years as a manager. However this is all hypothetical and for right now, I just don't see it happening or going well. I do genuinely think that Rovers would be best finding a short term solution and then reassess in the summer...which of course means they'll just end up giving some clown a 3 year deal again.
  8. Hedges and Pratt confirmed to miss out on the 25 man squad. No real surprise there. Feel for Pratt, will hopefully come back stronger next season.
  9. Tough, tough game. prior to the Boro defeat, Norwich beat Coventry and in form Wrexham. I suspect they will not be in any relegation danger come May. Norwich 2 - 0 Rovers. I think they'll make 1 change from Tuesday night: Alebiosu for Miller.
  10. I loved Robbie Savage as a player for Rovers, but the guy has not managed a single game in League Two, never mind the Championship. He might be a good, but he's been a manager for less than 2 seasons. It would be an enormous risk to take a punt on him. Is this where we are at as a club? Fishing for a new manager in the National League? Give it a few more seasons I suppose and Venky's will have us in that league. Having said all that, I'd take him over Chris Coleman every day.
  11. Will Still clearly has some managerial ability or he wouldn't have done well over in France and Belgium....BUT he took the wrong job over here in Southampton - immediate pressure to bounce back to the prem at the first attempt and a greater need to hit the ground running. He would've been better off taking a less pressuring gig like Swansea or Hull, where he'd likely have been given more time to get to grips with the Championship and continue to build his reputation. Not sure Rovers at this moment in time is a good fit for him though.
