  1. I can only see Leeds and Fulham. Leeds battered Bristol City.
  2. If Leeds get 2 or 3 in this week like Ryan Kent and Dwight Gayle along with this young lad from Inter Milan then they will take some stopping.
  3. This reported Leeds 3-3-1-3 formation should be an interesting watch. Seems a bit of unrest according to a few Leeds mates but wouldn't be surprised if they battered Bristol City 4 or 5.
  4. Neither approve or disapprove. How a man chooses to spend his final minutes on this earth is his choice. Merely stating the facts as printed in the press. Don't let it bother you old darrener. Just be thankful he died in a peaceful place with the man he loved. Not everybody gets that choice.
  5. Died in his husbands arms holding his rosary beads.
  6. If they get Gayle or Vydra I suspect they will be happy. The reason they missed out last season was the amount of chances they missed. Unbelievable stats.
  7. I didn't mention Preston in my initial thoughts. I just feel it is slightly different in the fact the club is situated in the Asian community.
  8. I agree totally. A small town club very much the same as Burnley Rovers Bolton Wigan and Blackpool. Size wise there is nothing between any of them. Only difference is the fact that Preston are the only one not to of sampled the apparent 'delights' of the Premier League.
  9. Preston is slightly different in my opinion as the football club is situated right in the heart of the Asian community and interactions are definitely there. Deepdale is a very mixed community and unlike other northern towns Preston isn't splintered and despite a tragic case a few years ago between feuding gangs from Fishwick and Callon resulting in a poor lad losing his life relations are very good. You will see very very many Asian lads playing football on Moor Park in replica Preston gear. Roop Singh is one of their favourite fans and a Sikh.
  10. Knob or on a wind up? No need for such aggression fella we are on a forum. Sir Tom was better than Best according to the vast majority of old lads and older family members who saw both of them play. It's not negativity it's just fact. Blackburn Burnley Oldham Bradford and other such towns have huge Asian populations and virtually nil support.
  11. Mainly Liverpool and Manchester United shirts. Very very seldom you see any Rovers shirts in the town.
  12. It's like going into Booths and making your way over to the deli counter hoping there are little samples of cheese or if you're lucky a scotch egg or quiche. I and probably most do have a sample or 3 but 99% don't buy it. Very much similar to offering free tickets to Asian communities in the North of England.
  13. Never going to happen. Far too expensive for the Asian community. They won't shell out money on something they can watch on their lap top or phone. Football isn't ingrained in them. No Asian players either. Non starter and not just at Blackburn. Bradford City tried a scheme years ago trying to engage the Muslim community and get them involved offering free tickets. Plenty went on the freebies but didn't go back.
  14. Finney was better than Best pal. Nobody comes close to Finney. I agree they are all legends.
  15. Lucky man seeing Best play. Wow. I think for the older end on here Tommy Finney is the best player they ever saw. He had everything apparently.
  16. A6 Corridor. Lancaster through Preston into Chorley? Although Chorley A&E gets diverted to Preston also.
  17. A little tale. Booths in Preston the Fulwood shop across from the RPH. I was in there years ago and Tommy was in with Elsie his wife who was suffering with dementia really badly at the time. I will never forget the courage of the man. His wife was clearly poorly and she was hooked on his arm as they walked round the store. The thing was he never took the smile off his face and had time for everybody. I remember people hugging Sir Tom and just wanting to be near him. Maybe not a Rovers legend but a real proper Legend on and off the pitch.
  18. Cricket should be played at West Cliff or Stanley Park. Nothing a out diminishing heritage pal it's about being real. Real Lancashire is the M65/M6/M55.
  19. I'm 51 and obviously I'm wrong because LCCC play in Manchester and also at Aigburth and Southport and even Sedbergh now but not one of those locations is traditional Lancashire.
