  1. nicky reid was`nt exactly blessed with speed and he still managed to get forward and score quite regularly for a midfield anchor,i`ve never seen evans get forward ever and travis seems to be getting coached out of it,he was quite progressive when he first broke into the 1st team
  2. **** me thats why i quoted "apparently!!!,he needs some of tony`s wifes lemon drizzle cake
  3. was a bit of a desperate time tbh, after 3 play off failures mackays squad needed a rebuild,we had to do without garner and sellers for most of the season as well,i think bobby mimms comes in soon to replace collier, who was never up to the job
  4. Blackburn. Ready to snap up young striker Connor McBride. Leaving Celtic. Scottish youth cap. not sure about this one, celtic are not in the habit of releasing good players and to cap it all apparently he`s a big lad who is physical, mowbray will no doubt see him as a left winger, with gallagher on the right we`ll have two big centre forwards playing wide?,all part of the mowbray tactical masterplan i kid you not
  5. lol,what a terrible decision?,loving this,though the season does`nt get any better
  6. buckley needs 2 months in the lower leagues to learn how to look after himself,he`s far to easy to knock off the ball at the moment, mowbray should be seeing this ffs, everyone else can
  7. as a former full back(albeit not a very good one)i can confirm this is correct, nothing worse than being ran at,it tires you out, gives the winger more confidence and in the end you end up getting booked or sent off for one to many fouls
  8. thanks for putting those up,fond memories of my teenage years?
  9. steady on,he`s got to pass the mowbray initiation yet,how will he score on the niceness scale, will he pass the mowbray mentality test,is he physically big enough, does he learn from his seniors and the final and most important, can he play out of position
  10. those toilets were er,how shall we put it,not very pleasant, most of the blackburn end used to relieve themselves at the back of the terrace, was a bloody nightmare on big match days ?
  11. that second XI has got me reaching for the gin bottle ?
  12. we`ll be ok,there are 6 or 7 teams that are in a worse situation than us,as long as we keep lenihan, travis, armstrong or dack i think you can expect a mid table/bottom half finish, the big danger is the above four getting lured away by bigger clubs or them getting fed up with mediocrity and banging in a transfer request
  13. you could probably get some money for gallagher, certainly not getting your 5 million back though?,you`de have to give brereton away im`e afraid, though it would be worth looking into suing forest on the issue they sold a footballer who was`nt one, trades description act innit?
  14. it does`nt take much working out does it????!!!!!!!!he`s living on easy street, surrounded by his friends, why upset the regime trying to get in the playoffs where you may have to make unpopular decisions team and squad wise,it`s not as if venkys are going to be on the phone after every match demanding to know about progress
  15. lets be honest, after the virus it was unlikely there would be any money available and thats quite understandable, what is quite infuriating is the fact that there are dozens of potential free transfer bargains and lower league players flying around and it looks like we ar`nt going to bag any of them,i tell you know, mowbray is topping his pension up and thus is content with finishing on the bottom half,it`s unlikely we`ll go down unless there is a massive sale of our best players around the corner, tony and his mates are running a nice, cosy cabal and are answerable to no one,if and when we are allowed back into the ground i think the crowd(whats left of us) will turn viciously this season
  16. holy ****,it looks like we are going into the new season without a senior goalkeeper on our books, unless fisher/hilton are the reincarnation of lev yashin,im`e seriously worried
  17. i could`nt fault keith for effort, what turned everone against him was the fact he thought he was a hybrid of zidane and johann cruyff, instead of just doing the simple stuff he really did have delusions over his ability, all those ambitious passes that ended up in the riverside or to the opposition and those attempted dribbles that lost us posession, every time he got the ball i used to exercise my vocal chords?
  18. tony looking pensive, probably thinking "who can i bring in that won`t improve the squad and get us into those nasty play offs"
  19. i was at that game, fantastic day, giving shilton some serious stick in the 2nd half and as i can recall we were kept in for ages after the game, whilst the area was cleared of the plymouth menace, that loss sent them down and they were far from happy, did`nt get home until midnight, even with my maniac driving mate giving his sierra sapphire some serious pedal wear, one regret about the kenny era is he did`nt give speedie the chance to play in the premier league,he would have been electric with shearer, sure he could have offered soton a bit more cash instead of giving speedie as part of the deal
  20. he s****d gemma atkinson and took a liking to colombian marching powder?
  21. 1st leg play off against derby, the blackburn end was going mental all second half?
  22. odds on tinkering tony would change the side and tactics even if we win our first five games 5-0?,i think thats part of our problem,no one knows where they are playing and what their jobs are,be nice if we did get off to a winning start though?,big ben smashes a hat trick in rovers flying start to the season
  23. i can categorically tell you now that williams is useless as a centre back and even worse as a left back,iv`e watched him enough through his tenure here to realise he`s about as much use as an artex canoe,he`s a nice lad though and good in the dressing room, which is a mowbray prerequisite
  24. i say give the lad a chance,he can obviously cope with the physical side, having spent time in the lower divisions and excelled by all reports,he should certainly get some game time here,if he`s not up to it then offload him, tosin is`nt coming back and williams is weedy at centre back, give the lad a chance and see how it goes
  25. 100% effort was mandatory in a souness side and flitcroft was a perfect advocate for this,he did a lot of graft for others, the rabble of this squad would have lasted about a day with souness and flitcroft behind the scenes, can you imagine souness dealing with brereton??
