Just playing devils advocate ... imagine if we did go up

It seems odd to me that people don’t just support a local team they can commit to and enjoy the highs and lows it brings naturally but there’s nowt as queer as folk . Look it’s not real betting it’s just a friendly few quid same as I would with friends

Listening to Radio Lancs it sounds like the Blackpool lads were busting a gut for Dunny. I like Joey Barton - a Robbie Savage with ability.
I’m not keen on the fact that he is a criminal , a fairly vile human , but he’s not in my camp, I’ve a couple of pals who have fleetwood season tickets who aren’t mad about him through principle or the chairman and his recent views ... fairly rare in football as we are normally so partisan

I don't think betting against your own team is fun, but whatever you're into.
I’d agree if it was betting with a bookie but I’m not ok just offering a bit of fun for a few quid with a fellow fan for charity if they want , neither of us can really lose

Nothing fun about taking even money on a 5/1 shot. Nice try having his pants down though.
Oh I see what you mean , genuinely went over my head as I don’t bet much . I was just offering to bet an amount of Money as he was so confident and I’m so pessimistic . Ok I’ll put on the table 5x What he does as you are the arbiter of what is fair to your guy . How big shall we go ?

I think what frustrates the most is we have these tremendous games and runs and just when we are in grasping distance we blow it and it seems as regular as clockwork .... maybe not this time . It’s the hope that kills you .

Cracking performance and win this was a real awkward test.
No negatives this week let's have an amnesty ?
How graceful . If only all could be like that

5/1 with the bookmakers so hope you offer the same to Chaddy.
See I’m not a betting man . I was just talking a flat 50 would be nice if it was for mind but equally he can enjoy it too , and I don’t want to assume his means , it could be less , it could be 50p , is only for fun

Are you a betting man ? I hope we make the play offs .... but shall we have a sneaky 50 ? For the pocket or charity . Nobody loses

A lot of pleasing things to take from today’s day out . Slightly frustrating to think of the money on the bench that could have been spent on defenders when we had dom

10 clean sheets. Command of his area, catching of the ball.
Yes he made some mistakes as I said but blaming him for Mitrovic's goal is just stupid
Goalkeeper catches ball ???

So if he delivers promotion form during a 13 game streak should we give him the job for life?
32 games during the same period of each season is an amazingly random stat whilst 13 games is indicative that the manager should be sacked ?
"It's logic Jim but not as we know it" ???
If he gets us up through the playoffs he can have another season

I think there are some facts in the post about how we approach different teams ....
I think I just wish there was more unity about how frustrating things are , the tombola tactics , the groundhog teenager windows .
I don’t know how we fix the predicament we are in but it doesn’t mean we have to be so accepting of it either

The debate isn't about if Walton is better than Raya but whether he is good enough to sign.
I'm not convinced about the former argument but regardless of that the latter seems pretty clear. He's not good enough for no 1 at Rovers.
For those who dislike Raya - if I had argued he was better than Steele (hardly a challenge mind) quite rightly people would say that's not the barometer of success. Or Smallwood being better than Lowe doesn't mean he warrants a place in our current midfield. Independent of Raya, regardless of our views on Raya, is Walton a good keeper - I'd say not.
Yes true , as chaddy whitehouse would say
why are we going on about raya ? He’s long gone .... all the people who think he is rubbish have no place for sentiment anyway .....

I’m not sure how you calculate a goalies stats like that with any degree of accuracy or not . There are so many factors not to mention being part of a particular defensive unit .
mine of the two , the inferior one has a very good chance of being a premier league keeper and if he steps up we will know , the other is with a premier league club but doesn’t get a look in- 1
-
It has to be a sensible fee too , he’s nowhere near a game at Brighton

He’s improved I’ll give him that , and the comments by tombola about him are completely agreeable and sensible . I’m not sure he has the raw talent that raya has the potential to turn into something special under good coaching , perhaps Walton has learned from his mistakes . The bigger picture is that he stands a better chance if we got a proper coach for him

But he doesn't seem to be showing this improvement . The website whoscored.com gives Walton a rating of 6.69 whereas Raya is down on 6.59.
No perhaps not but when you look at the way they do things overall he has a better chance ... he may however slip through the net no pun intended
-
It gives me no pleasure by the way to identify how well another club is run coached and financed , my comments are driven by envy . If Walton improves it won’t be down to coaching

That was Waltons 10th clean sheet this season. If possible I would sign him in the summer. If not I would go for Rotherhams Daniel Iversen.Insert other media
He’s shown plenty of recent improvement , however he like raya has a mistake in him and unlike them I don’t have faith in our coaching to iron it out

Of course, supporters like yourself will always give other clubs the benefit of the doubt. Even when the evidence contradicts it. Raya must have surpassed Walton for clangers this season at this stage.
I suppose it's probably Mowbrays fault.
It’s not more complicated than Brentford having a proper keeper coach that makes he think he has a better chance of improvement

He didnt do much but to say he didnt look interested is just going out of your way to try and justify the non signing. Lets not pretend that he wouldnt be an improvement on Bennett or a striker in a wide role. Not even necessarily saying that we should sign specifically him in the summer.
If we start playing 433 it opens up the possibility of strikers regularly shunted out wide. 442 (with Downing and Rothwell wide from next week) just gives us the rigidity of 2 banks of 4, and it gives us the chance to play a second central striker in the absence of our number 10s and give Armstrong a freer role.
Last night we had Elliott Bennett on the left hand side, lets not pretend that a player with the statistical output of goals and assists that Maddison has consistently had wouldnt improve on him. It remains to be seen whether he will make the step up and I dont think hes going to tear up the League but youd rather see him wide than Bennett, than Samuel, than Brereton, than Gallagher.
If we turned down both Ronaldos due to their denim wear some would retrospectively say they were no good for us

In the years I've seen him play he hasn't improved much at all. He IS a great shot stopper, but he's always had that in his locker.
However his general command of the box has not improved, hence he will never be an elite goalkeeper, Brentford is about his level.
You could try and blame our coaching staff, which does hold some weight. But he's had what 6 months with Brentfords amazing setup yet they've not ironed his weaknesses out.
I’d allow a young goalie a little longer to prove himself . He has a good chance unlike here with our no mark of a goalie coach

Seemed a bit sharper than usual last night albeit against a poor side.
Hopefully it's not a case of him being an unused sub for the next three weeks and he gets another good half hour on Saturday to push him towards starting a few matches.
Although he hasn't looked up to much in previous cameos, I do think Mowbray has managed him terribly so far.
The combination of the price tag and Tony’s ineptitude has destroyed him
Would you sign Christian Walton

Let’s not gloss over how tony days Walton fell in his lap . While the young goalie may improve we still have a manager who freely admits he is clueless and that is the bigger concern
