  1. I was once a real art and media nazi ... if it wasn’t what I was into it was shit . I’ve grown out of that now .  I mean some shit mainstream stuff can be the gateway drug to broadening your horizons .
the key to a good marriage is a healthy interest for the same pretentious art house films but also a large house with an annex / space/ attic with a second tv you can sneak off to when strictly is on .... as that is just too boring

Not to worry, it is very unlike us to start well we’ve equaled/broken all sorts of club records, so I’m just enjoying the ride for now as I don’t expect us to keep this up- conceding one goal in 7 games is nuts. From what I gather you played really well against Watford just Ben Foster had a brilliant game. If that’s the sort of standard you’re setting over the season we are definitely in for a difficult night.

He played ok but Armstrong is so cavalier in front of goal .... if Douglas and trybull have forced their way in we have a chance ... kaminski being injured is an issue ... he’s been solid , pears is ok and I know nothing of the Greek lad

In that case Coventry and Wycombe should be getting hammered every week.Add Derby to it aswell.Maybe leave the season progress a little and give the new players a chance to settle in before labelling us flat track bullies.

To be fair those three are all at the wrong end of the table

  4. Sorry my phone went a bit mad ,  no beef  with reading and some fond memories of shaka in that giant yellow shirt . Reading doing well is another example for me of why football is so different , no pressure on teams . It is a good test for us we have hammered the likes of Cov and Wycombe but when we have faced teams with something about them , eg Watford defensive resilience or forest sorted out with a new  manager we have been toothless

I set myself up an account just to answer that question(yes we did genuinely used to be known as the biscuitmen rather than the royals)

Our preferred tactic is 4231 but the formation does change in game depending on how we’re doing, for example we got Laurent to sit deeper than Semedo and Rinomhota on Saturday so we became some sort of wide 433.

We’re very much a counter attacking side who look to frustrate the opposition by allowing them to have plenty of possession. Laurent and Rinomhota sit just in front of our defence and they essentially fill in any gaps that open up(otherwise press the man on the ball) to restrict opponents to half chances and frustrated players taking long shots. This allows one of our fullbacks to push forward and not worry too much about losing the ball, even though both Esteves and Richards are fairly quick themselves so can track back well. Rafael hasn’t really been tested in any of our games although he has proven to be reliable whenever called upon I expect he will be tested on Tuesday.

Attacking wise we are not particularly good. We try to counter but it’s normally given away straight away especially if someone presses us(we initially struggled to get going against Barnsley and Rotherham because of that). For some reason, we are ridiculously clinical at the moment and there’s question marks over whether that is sustainable. A lot of our goals come from us punishing a defensive mistake from a set piece in particular or these horrible long balls that defences seem to struggle to deal with. We are a quick and physically strong side. Paunovic is still trying to find the answer- he’s only been in the job for two months.

I do think each of Norwich, Blackburn and Brentford will be a good test to see how good we are defensively, we’ve not really faced anyone with a particularly good attack. We haven’t trialed for a second in the league this season, so if you manage to get an early goal it would be a good test to see what we’re made of.

We were 3-0 up already against Wycombe before any sending off.

Both sendings off were when we had players running through on goal.

Should have been a sending off In the Watford game also when Armstrong running through, just tells me teams are struggling to defend against us and have to resort to fouling .

Watford are superb defensively now . We did well to score , I do think Ben fosters performance is shrouded in hyperbole . A sending off in the event toy describe would have been harsh

  7. The first 0-0 this season was wba v Burnley last week , we have seen some crazy  results , eg villa 7 champions 2 , Leeds who play attacking football have been fearless and are in the top 3 , closer to home Ben brereton is like another player .
how much of this is due to the lack of pressure from fans? Is every fake like a behind closed doors friendly ? Are partisan feelings among a union of players diluted without fans fuelling it ?

what do we think the game will be like when fans return ?

Four changes today. JRC, Douglas, Trybull and Williams in for Nyambe, Bell, Evans and Ayala.

Surprised and pleased I think Ayala is the only one forced

I can’t say I know much about trybull but I know he’s not evans

    How about 3-5-2?

with Douglas and Nyambe as wing backs it leaves Ayala, Lenihan and Williams as a solid back 3. Supported by the two wing backs who are very much blessed with pace and a defensive midfielder in either Travis, Johnson or Trybull. It allows a creative player - Holtby or Dack, to play right behind two forwards which for me would be Armstrong and Brereton/ Elliott. The players we have now also allow fir changes to formation, 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1 and 4-3-3. It is still about putting the best players on the pitch

And sg as a wide forward

Trybull would of been better than any of the three that started Saturday and regarding Liverpool , thats because there Liverpool. The best team in the world . If you can’t get into the 18 in the best team in the world at 17 then your not good enough for rovers . Behave. The fact he’s played in that team means he’s more than capable of holding down a shirt at ewood. If they don’t want him back he will sign for a better team than us, fact

I don’t really disagree , although this season prior to nf game Johnson has been decent as has Buckley I wouldn’t have dropped either for trybull I suppose evans is a different matter . Amazed and appalled holtby wasn’t involved .

re the Liverpool lad again we aren’t on wildly different pages he’s more than good enough just an observation they tend to keep the ones they really really like even at that age , more so than other big clubs

  11. We have the squad now to completely forget that SG exists

Kaminski is proving ok , had not to be an improvement ... likely the same with the other lads . You can’t be worse

Douglas has done well at this level I like him

Ayala is more than fine , any criticism is bitter

trybull is fine nothing we don’t have

Harvey ... I know we have a plan for him but lpool rarely want their loans back

I have a large collection of 90 Mins magazines it was a belter at the time. Fresh interesting and had a bit of vibe and culture about it compared to the other stuff, a bit like most things in the 90's to be fair. Great decade for sport and music.

Great decade to be young, i miss it badly ?

Yes it seemed different , quite wear stuff like that ongoing joke about heimo pfeffenberger/ casino Salzburg

My mate said pretty much the same thing after watching it.

As for the highlighted bit, if we keep shipping goals and not winning Mowbray will indeed be lambasted, and right so. No point playing good football and losing every week because you can't defend as a team.

Yes it’s not entertaining losing every week
