There's not a cat in Hell's chance that Mowbray will make top 6 this season.
There isn’t but he’s owed the opportunity to prove us wrong. He’s out if he can’t.

Who relegated us? However u look at it. Mowbray did
Guess we should have kept Coyle then.

With respect, your suggestion that there was no point sacking Mowbray and we might as well just let him continue until the end of the season (despite presumably at the same time acknowledging he wasn't the man for the job) was an extremely bizarre one.
Yeah on first sight I can see why you think that. I just think for what he has done for the club in terms of turning it around when we could have been in freefall, I think he deserves the finish the season with the squad he’s accumulated. Also, although it might be a slim chance, keeping him until the seasons end is probably the best chance we have at reaching top 6. If we don’t make top 6 again then I would say “ok thanks for all you’ve done for our club but you’ve taken thus club as far as it can go at your helm.”

You mean other than the 22 page thread on that exact topic?
I like how you highlighted that part of the response but not the bit about people on here jumping at an opportunity to belittle someone from behind a keyboard.

Theres a 21 page thread titled “Mowbrays Successor” on here.
Very good. Hope you enjoy yourself on there.

It's looking like we have a Coyle-like appointment right now with the increasingly bizarre tactics and press interviews.
It was Coyle that got us into a position to be relegated to league 1. It was Mowbray that got us back into the Championship and solidified us following absolute turmoil.

I know you're fishing 🎣 BUT...
Think back to 2000, Souness came in with around 15 games to go when we had 0 to play for and we could have waited till the summer.
Those games gave him chance to evaluate the squad and see what he had and didn't have - Jansen, Duff, and Dunn were playing reserve football as the likes of Ward, Carsley, Østenstad, McAteer, Frandsen, Harkness, Grayson, Broomes, Dailly and Fettis were all still getting game time.
That summer he signed Bjornebye Short, Curtis and Hignett. Then Mahon, Berg, Friedel, Bent and Berkovic.
Sourness needed those months to fully realise how trash some of our team was, even though most fans would have said Carsley, Frandsen, McAteer and Broomes etc were "good enough".
Fast forward: We have 5 loans, Bennett, Williams, Pears, Evans, Johnson, Gallagher, Brereton, Downing and Buckley all getting games when most are not good enough. We have half a dozen out of contract too who need evaluated like Nyambe, Holtby, Rothwell and JRC.
We need a manager NOW to come in if we are to hit the ground running in 2021. Hughes, Howe, Pearson... don't care.
Mowbray out. Now.
Thanks for taking the time to explain all that. Much more humane than the other replies I received who just jump at the chance to try and belittle someone from behind a keyboard for sharing their opinion. What your saying makes sense. My biggest concern is that people talk about getting Tony out. But no talk of who they would have in instead. Could be out the frying pan and into the fire with a Coyle-like appointment.

Not sure if there is even any point changing the Manager until the end of the season now. We are that far behind we might as well give him till the end of the season.

Season over after our February collapse.

Can’t see us getting anything out of this now. Knew it as soon as the commentator said that Barnsley haven’t won at home since Boxing Day. Rovers always play the duct breaker role.
-
I’ve seen some very creative kits from puma in the past. I was always a fan of the 2003-04 Fulham home kit. The Tottenham puma kits looked smart too. I’d be optimistic for a Rovers puma kit.

Ivan Toney’s goal celebration was a mock at Armstrong.

I wonder what other Clubs look like....Burnley Club Shop is open.
Burnley Shop would be open. I'm always surprised when I see a Burnley fan has an item of clothing that doesn't have a Burnley logo on it.

It doesn't seem that long ago from when we beat Cardiff away with that Armstrong long range goal.
I think we'll win 3-2
Cardiff will get goals but I think we can outscore them.

The royal blue makes it.
Let’s have it right, we’ve the best shirt design in football (with our Grasshopper brethren, always had a soft spot for them since my Subbuteo days)
I agree, i think we have the best design for a football top. Probably a biased opinion but oh well.
Was having a conversation with a Dingle and he was saying it is a horrible strip but he would do.
I cant imagine someone picking Claret as a primary colour then deciding that it is a good idea. Disgusting colour!

Yeah but at the same time it’s an affect that I’ve never seen used before. Something new and original and credit to them for trying something different. Bet if it was just red everyone would be complaining how it wasn’t even a half assed effort.

We havent worn the home shirt kit at Stoke or Brentford for the previous 2 season. We had our yellow shirts on that day 2 season ago which we won 3-2. Or Brentford when we lost 5-2
So if we wouldnt have clashed then why Didnt we wear our home kit?
We wore the Grey away shirt at Charlton. Does that mean the home shirt would have clashed with their home shirt then using your logic?
-
I like the new shirt. With that collar, it seems like a 2010/2011 kit but with red trims on it. You know which one I mean, the Umbro crown paint one, think Venkys bought the club that year.

I remember a time when you got a new home shirt design every 2 years. But the sneaky buggers changed the sponsor in between those two years. 02/03 & 03/04 seasons spring to mind when it was the same shirt but the only difference was the AMD and HSA sponsor.

Couldnt care less about Wigan...A non league club at best..
Non league at best is a bit harsh. They won the FA cup less than 10 years ago. I’d say they are a club that is L1 at least.

Yes that is true, but it’s a kick in the teeth when they reveal the training gear at a time when the full kit should be revealed too. Seems like they are doing it to keep us quiet for now but I couldn’t care less about what clothes the players warm up in.
-
Haha yeah probably. Either way the club should have made an official reveal. I bet they are doing this on purpose to try and squeeze some sales from the replica shirts and training wear from the 19/20 season. The fact that they have already revealed the training kit and not the playing kit for 20/21 is a kick in the teeth. If they don’t reveal it right after the play-off final it’s a joke. It’s already past the point at which I expected to see it.
Yeah I’ve been keeping tabs with that website too. Hoping for an unofficial leak of any kind. Interesting correlation you’ve made there with the camo patterns.

You don't have to agree with me (I’m certain you won’t), but I’ll always respect him from preventing the club from being in a way worse situation than it is now. That’s why I think he’s owed the remainder of the season. Can’t help but be grateful for what he’s done for us. If your someone that just wants what’s best for the club with no sentiment then I understand why you would want the immediate change. I’d prefer to be more respectful but that’s just me.
