  1. I think we as fans have shown Venky's it's fine to turn the tap off and starve a good manager of reasonable resource.

The message is if you do the bare minimum we are happy, happy and grateful to still be able to watch Rovers.

The reality is a good manager won't be. I know how this ends and hopefully the rest of the fanbase does too... underachievement, wasted academy products and the manager moving on.

All we are left with is a CEO who's happy to cover it up, mid-table mediocrity, the occasional relegation and a new bus.

Without a real explanation from India through the club that they own, I think I'm done for a while.

  2. Before over analysing the tactics I would take a look at the player resources being made available to our manager... or lack of. It's appalling and he's working miracles with some poor players that are still having to start.

We very nearly beat a team with 1 extra player 3-1 on a transfer budget of pretty much £0. We only paid a fee for 5 of our starting XI today... and not one loan player in the squad.

Hull were able to cycle through Estupinan, Delap and Connolly up front today + Twine.

They won because their £1.3m spent on a striker made the difference... sometimes that's all it takes.

If you gave Tomasson that amount in 4 positions I think we'd go up. ST, LB, CB, RW.

    Waggott and Venky's out!!

  3. The frustration is coming from the multiple step overs and twirls without ever really getting anywhere. It looks a complete waste of energy and stood out on the day as a total contrast to Girona's wingers who were so simply effective with their directness and pace. He also uses his teammates runs as a decoy too often without gaining much ground himself... leaving them equally frustrated. Overall he's a frustrating watch and I'd imagine at times frustrating to play with. I think you can guess the word I'd use to best describe Dolan...

    Sh*t

  4. It's an unusual choice of sponsor for any sports team and I thought it would be temporary. The CEO doesn't come out of this well once again, since it completely exposes the no betting and no gambling moral high ground as purely a commercial move likely aimed at the muslim community. The impression I get about Waggott is... predictable twirp with little footballing morals.

  5. The issue is contribution vs salary, Dack and Ayala don't justify it and you can probably add Gallagher to that group too, he was likely brought in as a high earner on the basis of scoring 10 or 15 goals a season but his main use is running and defending corners. You don't pay 15k a week for that from a centre forward. It would be sensible to try and move him on... but difficult to do so.

  6. Stupid of Dolan to not go down, he could have easily had Cork sent off and it would have been the correct decision but the ref should have had the balls to dismiss him regardless, likewise the linesman has to see the handball. There is a real issue at this level and as someone posted above it hasn't evened itself out, officials have cost us some huge points recently regardless of player performance, team selection etc.

Rovers did well last night but we've too many average players Dolan, Gallagher, Travis and Pickering to name a few. For example Travis, Morton and Pickering start almost every game and simply aren't good enough if you're looking to go up.

JDT has done well with what he has and there are a good few players I'd be trying to get rid of but we are relying too much on the officials because of our inability to put the ball in the net.

Whoever's offered Brereton a contract should cancel it, he looks lost at Championship level at the minute, I don't think you ever could have said that about Benrahma, Bowen or Watkins at 24. He's a lucky boy to be getting a big money move and certainly hasn't earned it with us this season.

I'm looking forward to a clear out of players in the summer and to see who we sign. One thing Burnley do not have, amid their mass of big money Championship players, loans and questionable work permits is a player like Adam Wharton. He's going to be a joy to watch.

I thought Burnley's performance was pretty bad last night considering the money they've spent. We looked classier on the ball and are 8th. Next season's PL should be fun viewing!
