  1. Absolutely right on this. Good premier league wingers look to get it out of their feet quickly and cross it into the box still, and score from them again and again. Likewise they shoot and see deflected goals go in every single week. We don't.

We are reluctant to cross and don't have anyone attacking crosses that do go in. We also very bizarrely often refuse to deliver it into the box when our defenders have stayed up, which is absolutely ludicrous.

They stick around waiting for a cross that's not coming and we get counter attacked with a couple of midfielders left to defend. We concede a lot of goals at the minute through overcomplicating things.

You could argue we actually need to play with more freedom where we are allowed to mix it up more. How many times have we encouraged more pressure by not hitting it as long as possible.

Sometimes a couple of punts upfield or an opposition throw-in down the other end allows you to regroup, push up and breathe.

I've yet to receive a letter from our owners asking me for a £100 donation to keep the club afloat.

Believe it or not there are worse owners out there than ours, which might not be saying a great deal admittedly

The thing is I'm seeing articles start with "we spoke to the Sheffield Wednesday owner and here's what he had to say" and from the pictures I'm seeing it looks like he's attended some of their games? So before we start to defend Venky's let's remember how detached, uninterested and non present they are at our football club. When the heat gets turned up a bit they won't give anyone the courtesy of addressing them directly, or being present on the ground at the club they own.

Venky's remain one of the worst ownerships in English football. We have barely seen or heard from them in 10 years!

    Non existent.

  3. Personally I think it's a shame Telalovic isn't featuring more off the bench. Confidence is key for a striker and the lack of faith shown in him can't be doing him any good. Monchengladbach were prepared to give him a debut in the Bundesliga, we have seen some really poor games this season and should be giving him more of a chance.

Tomasson called for patience but has clearly made his mind up on him already.

I don't think Dolan would get a sniff of the first team at Gladbach.

  4. On Dolan, possibly harsh but the assist didn't impress me that much at all. I think he has an unusual way of connecting with the ball and most of the time it leads to an under hit pass, this one was one of very few passes I've seen make it through from him and I still didn't think he connected that cleanly. Most of them won't come off... and don't.

I really really think he has a lot of work still to do to make it at this level. That said he was one of the better forwards today since generally we played and in particularly attacked poorly.

  5. Given Tronstad's performance he could have easily started all of our games this season. Better than Travis on the ball and breaks up play, yet we have chosen to leave Wharton completely isolated game after game. I'm now completely of the opinion that Travis doesn't need to be on the pitch in his forward role. It seems like a wasted position to me that won't get you a goal but leaves you vulnerable at the back.

I think it's cost us a 6 points at home this season, that along with the Pears selection is on the manager. Pears doesn't have the physical presence to be a Championship goalkeeper and is beaten too easily.

It's been a terrible start to the season, selection wise and tactically. We've lost games unnecessarily.

I also find it hard to believe that a manager who is willing to hand Jack Vale a number of starts up front, when he clearly wasn't up to it, isn't prepared to give Telalovic a start or two up front... doesn't make sense to me. He looks to have the attributes to be effective at this level but won't get there without minutes.

JDT seems to be refusing to play the hand he's been dealt properly and that can't be instilling confidence in the team.

Again, Hill looks a player and could have easily started against Leicester to give us a stronger backline.

So far this season I've been disappointed with the use of Travis, the selection of Dolan and Pears, a lack of faith shown in the new striker and the performance of the manager.

There was even a game where Tronstad was playing for the u23s and at the same time the first team were losing a league match through the middle of the park. What was that about??? It all feels a bit self inflicted.
