  1. I haven't mentioned set pieces but we definitely have major problems scoring and defending them. That's not solely down to Mowbray but he and his staff undeniably have a part to play. I'm sure there are plenty of average height, well drilled teams in the world that could have handled that cross. Pros know exactly what needs to be done on set plays if they're lacking in height, ours aren't doing it. The poor performances are leading to individual and collective errors.

You seem to be looking at it from the “We are and should easily be a PL team” side of things...

Whereas I look at it as “We were in L1 and looked like we were sinking further”

In context of the other clubs in this league, how competitive it is, and the complete clusterfuck he inherited...

    Are we underachieving? Really?

I’ll have a better idea at the end of the season.

The playoffs were a realistic goal this season and we should be putting up more of a challenge.

I completely understand why there's a fear amongst fans to change the manager. Ultimately it's because they care about the club, so I'm not sure why you're getting a hard time for that.

Do I think we're underachieving in terms of the quality of the squad and performances? Yes, massively and since November. In terms of league position I think we're actually overachieving given the standard of those performances. They've been pretty abysmal since the 3-0 win at Preston.

The reality is we're underperforming on a weekly basis, even when we win and because of that we'll fall short come the end of the season. The QPR and Preston losses were coming.

If I were the owners I wouldn't back Mowbray with any more funds as he's not getting the basics right. That can only result in one thing and it will come, it's just a matter of when. I'd take someone temporary in charge now and see how all of the players do playing in their best positions from now until the end of the season.

I want a manager that overachieves and at the very least gets the best out of his squad.

  3. The more I think about Saturday, the more I realise it was a complete tactical screw up with a very strong squad available. It's not looking good for the remainder of the season.

March in particular under Mowbray is looking bleak, that said I still don't think there's an obvious replacement out there.

We're going to have to accept a mid table finish this year and hope a new manager is brought in right as the season ends. The pitch and non-playing staff should be the main focus of investment this summer.

The owners must deliver on that front otherwise we'll never make the grade and our talent will continue to be wasted.

    Over to you Venky's.

  4. He now needs to stop talking to the media, we've had two left backs all season. We are short of defensive cover either because you (Tony) failed to sign any defenders last summer and fit ones this summer OR the owner's didn't back you enough. Choose one and walk away or get the owners to back you with some permanent signings.

This article is pretty damning from the increasingly brazen Sharpe (he’ll be getting his lanyard taken away).

    Some highlights -

    - Haven’t scored a header from a corner since 2019

    - One headed goal all season

    - Fewest goals from set pieces in the division.

    Certainly points to poor coaching.

    That's exactly what it is.

I think it is harsh to criticise the club simply for the game being called off  - I bet it won't be the last fixture to be affected today - but it is reasonable to criticise them for the general state of the pitch, which is poor.

There's nothing embarrassing about a game being called off in shit weather, and calling it off early is the right thing to do.

It's a new low in recent times.

  7. It will be a different feel after one bobbles over Kaminski's foot on Tuesday night. We have billionaire owners today, the state of the pitch, the fact it's been allowed to get to this and the length of time it will take for them to replace it is a direct reflection of where Rovers are on their list of priorities.

I doubt it will happen any time soon, although I look forward to the club proving me wrong.

  8. Total incompetence by the owners.

    Maintaining the facilities and playing surface is the least you come to expect at Championship level with billionaire owners;

and the management team that is too scared to push for the standards to be maintained you should not be in the positions you are.

Good luck to the players on Tuesday, they deserve better. I won't be tuning in. If you don't feel like running the club properly I don't feel like supporting it properly.

I thought Bradley Johnson weighed in with the worst half of football by a Centre midfielder in a rovers shirt since Jason Lowe. Seems to have gone unnoticed.

He should be nowhere near the starting 11

He's past it. Offers very little going forward or defensively imo. I'm not sure why he is making the starting 11.

Then again John Obi Mikel made it look easy enough.
