  1. Norwich are a team playing well at the moment. In their last 4, they've won 3 and drawn 1, scoring 12 goals. Josh Sargent is in great form, having scored 5 of those 12.

They're looking like serious play-off contenders - currently sitting in 8th place, only 3 points away from 6th.

Can't say i'm looking forward to this one, to be honest! Would snatch your hand off for a draw.

  2. You don't rest players and throw points away, especially not when you're in a relegation fight...

If players like Szmodics or Tronstad got injured we would be absolutely naffed, that's true... however injuries can't be foreseen or prevented, every game is a risk whether you've played 2 games in the past week or 2 games in the past month.

Fleck is a prime example of that, having picked up an injury in the first 15 minutes of football he's played in a long time.

Rotate the players as normal, sure... but when you're desperate for points, you take the risk and play the best squad you can for every game.

Looking at the tight fixture-list I am worried about the depth of this squad. Trondstad is putting in shift after shift. Do we have a player that can step in if he gets injured?

Thought the same thing, we're screwed if he takes a knock. Hell of a player.

I'm already dreading the Summer Window... it's gonna hurt like mad when we let him go to an ambitious Club for absolute peanuts.

McFadzean is 37 this month and hadnt played for months yet is now likely to play a third game in 8 days. Just making it up as we go along to justify the managers decisions.

Play Fleck and bring on Buckley for him, either 60 mins and 30 mins or half each. No Garrett.

Good shout, McFadz will probably need a rest.

Start O'Riordan for this one. He's looked alright to me in his cameo's - he's young and inexperienced, but a big lad and looks decent on the ball too.

Scotty, Hyam and O'Riordan to start - maybe stick McFadz in towards the end if needed.

This and the next two after it, some very tricky fixtures. (Cardiff away the Tuesday after and Norwich home, the Saturday after). Could do with getting something here!

Ahh yes, Cardiff away next Tuesday.

7:45 kick-off, away from home, long journey... honestly, i've never been more sure of how a game will play out in my life.

  6. I tend to assume that the loons in Pune will continue to get the green light for sending funds over, unfortunately keeping the circus going for a good while longer. There's also no doubt that they'll reduce the amount of funds they send, after recent earnings.

We've just got a guaranteed £18m for Wharton, £500k for Ennis and have ~£4m coming in from the Raya sale in the summer. So that'll be ~£22.5m in total... before we flog anyone else.

Looking ahead to the summer: Ben Chrisene, Billy Koumetio, Yasin Ayari, and Andrew Moran will return to their parent clubs. Plus, the short-term contracts of Kyle McFadz and John Fleck will be up. Trav and Vale will be coming back.

At a normal Club, Eustace would be properly backed after receiving income like that - but as we all know, this is far from a normal Club...

In your opinion, will Eustace have some cash to play with in the summer, or not?

Interesting that Jackson describes the potential appointment as Head Coach/Manager. Does this also mean that GB is going and Eustace will report directly into Suhail and Waggott?

    Good point.

If he actually wants to, then i'd like Gregg to stay - he's done a good job considering some of the bollocks he's had to put up with. He's tied down key players and young prospects with long contracts, and is responsible for some shrewd bits of business in the transfer market.

He's received a lot of undeserved criticism, and has clearly had to make himself the scapegoat during his time here... but I feel like he's one of the few people left at the club with a brain.

Keep Gregg. Let Eustace come in, to focus purely on the football.

  8. Has anyone else picked up on how responsive Nixon is being on Twitter to those who are suggesting that the cock-ups were intentional?

Seems unlike him to repeat himself so much, I also don't recall a time where he's defended the Club this much...

Something's telling me that he's been slipped a few quid to dismiss the theories and try to keep the peace a little.

Simply not good enough from Rovers. The lack of communication to the fans is truly pathetic and unbelievable. This McGuire fiasco is becoming soap opera now..

Waggott and Broughton should have held interviews explaining the problems with McGuire transfer and the lack of spending despite Wharton being sold.

We should have invest some of the money in January. Max Bird and Paddy McNair

Recent history suggests that we won't get a penny to reinvest. Our star boy, a local lad who was the product of the Academy that Jack built, was sold to keep the lights on and save a few quid for those greedy fat muppets in Pune.

P.S. Also just want to point out, as i've also seen you mention him on Twitter recently, that Max Bird was bought by Bristol City and loaned back to Derby a few days ago.

  10. Ian Sylvester is experienced and knows how to close a deal, as proven throughout his career. I am fully in the camp that these cock-ups were planned to save the Club money, given the lingering uncertainty around the funds being approved by the Indian Courts.

Those morons in Pune clearly don't want to commit to paying decent fees for players, even if they prove they're worth it.

Once is a mistake, twice is a choice.

Sylvester will be made the scapegoat i'm sure, but the truth will come out in time.

    VENKY'S OUT, WAGGOTT OUT.

I'm not having this, how was it a 'complicated one'?

You agree the financials, get the lad over for a medical and complete the deal - like any other transfer.

The only thing that complicates that is pure fucking incompetence from Blackburn Rovers, which is the norm these days.

No other club would have any complications with this deal. It's embarrassing.

  12. Gregg: Fuck, the Wharton deal might not go through - and the Yank is flying over as we speak!
Swag: Well that aint happening is it, tell them to make a U-turn.
Gregg: Steve it's a flight not a taxi... plus, we've got 8 hours till he lands - why don't we just hold off and see what happens? They obviously can't turn ar...
Swag: Gregg, don't make me ask again. *bites a pie* Tell them it's off now, and to make a U-turn.

    (Swag waddles off)

Gregg (head in hands): Fuck sake. Stacey, get me on the blower to Orlando please!

Or his agent wasn't happy with terms being offered ? Let's be honest - we don't know.

    It's possible, sure...

But nah, I think it's probably quite obvious...

The kid is moving out of his family home to go to live in London alone, he'll be at the opposite end of the country to them... he's only 19! It's likely that he's been pushed out of the Club that he adores, against his will, where he's played at since he was 6 alongside his big brother.

The poor lad has probably had an emotional meltdown, and I wouldn't blame him.
