Haha they've just mentioned the booking and said it happened in the aftermath of the goal. No you tits he got booked for a foul. Unbelievable!

They told us at the start that everyone was having problems inside the stadium with the pictures and that the viewer would see replays before the commentators in the stadium.

Do you have the names of any such players?

Why 6 million and not 7 or 8 million?

You make it sound so simple

No names how ever much we bow to the footballing inteligience of the people at the club to deliver or is it.

I think Rothwell is the kind of player we need to be signing. We have to realistic with the kind of money we can spend, I can only really see us spending 500k-1m on 2-3 players at the most.

Rothwell definetley resembles somewhat of a gamble, seems to be abit injury prone and inconsisitent according to OxU fans but a player who has undoubted quality.

Sometimes when a player joins a new club its helps them step up and take there game up a notch, Id back TM to get the best out of him, and if he can then he is a player who could excel for us and have potential big resale value. So as one of our most likely cheaper signings I think this is a spot Be stayer to our business. Only time will tell.

Should be spending £5 -6m on a striker that can deliver plus add to his sell on value.

Good luck to you guys and gals who like freebies and Sam the mule and no further progress.

Few thoughts from what I've read:

    - Chapman, as I've said before, the nature and instant recurrence of his injury makes this almost certainly a non-starter (ironically) in my book. Only if its permanent and cheap would it remotely appeal, loan should be a no go. One of the main reasons is because we are so short of wide players, with only Bennett (more of a utility player) and Conway (wont be a starter) therefore we have to look to sign players who will start in these positions, not ones who Mowbray has already stated he only sees as a sub.

    - Certainly wouldnt be offering Mowbray a long term (3 year) contract, its not like a player where you need to protect the asset, if we start next season well then maybe give him an extra year but it certainly shouldnt be an urgent priority, especially as there is no indication that he will leave.

    - Armstrong is the one from last season that we have to look to sign if possible, fits into our team like a glove.

    - @chaddyrovers quoted that Mowbray said "I'd sacrifice quality for personality and character" now as much as I totally understand the need for players to have the right character, a good character is not enough, as I repeatedly said with Conway as to why I didnt want him to be given a new deal, you need both, 1 is useless without the other. Bad attitude, player wont fulfill potential, offers nothing on the pitch but a good character, see Jason Lowe.

Totally agree and I'm sure others could add a bit more to your sentiments.

Let's see how he goes next year. 3 years will be wasted money if he relegates us again.

    Absolutely !

Mowbray's got it all to play for this season results wise and building the club up with quality transfers. Let's wait and see how he performs this season before he's rewarded.

Yet he isn't going and has already rejected Ipswich.

At least with added contract length we can a) decide whether we want to let him go b) Actually get compensation for him if he does go and c) Actually have a decent quality manager, rather than desperately looking to replace after stability.

A good club should already know who's impressed them in the past with regards to potentially offering them future employment.

VACANCY: CONE MONITOR & BIB MAN.

Blackburn Rovers are looking to recruit a new operative to provide a functioning assistance role within the football clubs U23 setup. The successful application will work with club manager Damien Johnson and offer consultancy + regular dialogue to the first team manager with an aim of progression to the senior setup. This is a demanding role with the main tasks requiring strategic placement of cone apparatus and provision of coloured garments. Applicant will also be expected to devise team bonding activities (pub in previous incumbent's case) and carry a sense of duty and responsibility as a role model to younger players particularly fitness matters. Also a brand new responsibility will be devising a dieting schedule. This includes taking into account religious dietary requirements, allergies, etc. This requires no prejudice towards certain dietary arrangements though preferably not to the point of no prejudice to any food in general. Applicant will be expected to hold or work towards obtaining necessary coaching badges. This isn't expected to be an arduous process as the course historically holds a 100% pass record (at least we have never heard of anyone failing including Steve Kean, John Barnes ,Tony Adams and the previous incumbent of this role).

Please apply FAO Mr S Waggott, Ewood Park, Nuttall Street, BB2 4JF

David Lowe would be a good candidate

So if we finish around 15th this season and stay up you'll be complaining? Don't know why I'm biting because that's all you come on here to do, get a few bites because I along with others can't help but respond to your bullshit. I'm still convinced your a dingle on the wind-up.

Then what I'm expecting premiership football, that's were Venkys picked us up anything less in my book is failure.

Having stable management is essential in the Championship. Not to mention a dressing-room having the respect of the manager.
I would also argue Mowbray's attitude has been key in starting to win back fan confidence.

Taking the contract situation with him so casually could come back to bite us in the behind if we have a solid season this season coming. We could find him going off to another club with his management team, taking players with him. This would leave us back in square one having to do a Blackpool when you consider the contract lengths many of our better players have at the moment.

We should offer him a new two year contract with a year option on top of it, ASAP!

He's going to leave if there's no serious commitment from the owners so why put yourself in that position.

Just let the owners expose themselves to the detriment of Blackburn Rovers football club and its fan base.

There is a transcript of the tonights meeting on the LT. Mowbray says up to 4 players will be coming in over the next two weeks.

Waggott also states a new senior management team will be announced next week.

Are they any good though is Gladwin Caddis and Whittingham going out to name just a few of the dummies Mowbray signed.

My prediction is still two freebies and two young loanees, just hope they are good'uns.

We need players that can take us to the next level the premiership not lower league donkeys.

Some interesting info out of the Supporters Consultation Evening with Tony Mowbray and Steve Waggott.

    • There are plans to offer Tony Mowbray a new contract
    • Mowbray has held six meetings with six players who we have the potential to sign, players he considers exciting
    • Mowbray expects to sign two to four players in the coming weeks
    • There should be contract news also in the coming weeks
    • Mowbray really rates Travis
    • Harry Chapman is eager to return to Rovers huw Mowbray spoke to last week. Armstrong is also eager to return to Rovers, however it would seem from Mowbray's tone that that is less likely
    • 5-6 signings are expected this window
    • David Dunn is leaving his position as assistant manager for the under 23s
    • Mowbray is positive and excited about the signings we might make this summer, as well as the continued positivity in the dressing room.

    Blackburn Rovers Supporters Consultation Meeting

Mowbray only deserves a new contract if he can get Rovers into the prem failing that it's another con, stitch up.

  12. 3 minutes ago, chaddyrovers said:

of course it relevant as it shows what a transfer window is like.

Mowbray told you what it was like a week after we got promotion. agents ringing up suggesting or offering him players to him

but Samuel did score goals at league 1 level tho Jal, stop talking rubbish pal.

I see him as player with plenty of pace and ability to score goals but there is a player in there. also like the fact he been training and working hard during the summer

Taking rubbish ? every Rovers fan I, meet says hes crap, he's not scored since the beginning of last December in League one chaddy for your information.  He's lazy, poor in the air, lazy at tracking back, can't beat a player, doesn't have any tricks in his locker.   ....... Samuel is a fraud of a footballer get him out.

Your footballing IQ is sadly lacking, its no wonder we've fallen way behind Burnley.

  13. Just now, chaddyrovers said:

    why?

Why if Samuel can't score goals at League one level or even create them then what chance has he of scoring and creating goals at a higher level.

Samuel out and a decent striker in please, otherwise we'll be playing for nil nil every game. Though he showed against Oxford at League one level that he's not too arsed to track back as we saw with Oxford's goal at the end of last season.

Unless Samuel can be a very good goalkeeper I don't see the point of having him here.

  14. Just now, Ladyboys of Bank Top said:

Yes, that's probably a fairer interpretation if the summer so far. Maybe I should have said mixed messages have been coming from Ewood. Mowbray has gone from saying he wanted all the permanent deals in by next Sunday to now saying he expects 1 or 2 in by then. Waggot and a Mowbray vame back from India all guns blazing about the budget, which within a week changed to we were looking at free transfers. Its all very confusing.

Thought Mowbray was away on holiday for this to come out now.

Because you don't even know what the team is yet, nobody does!

I wouldn't say there's much difference between any of the goalkeepers, in terms of quality tbh. Neither are spectacular, but Butland has probably made more errors of late, certainly at club level....

Reporter Sam Cunningham of the Independent newspaper following England in Russia reports on Jordan Pickford 'cocking up' in England's first training session at Spartan Zelenogorsk.

The stats show and I've seen Pickford drop bollocks on premiership pitches, far too many, to be even considered for a world cup tournament.

    Pickford out !

  16. 5 minutes ago, K-Hod said:

He hasn't even picked the team yet, so you're basing this ramble on rumour.

Wait until Monday before slagging off the squad, eh?

In the words of Graeme Souness: 'We've got to wee with the willy we've got'.

Why wait till Monday it's just a few points of note that I'm questioning beforehand that's all.

  17.

How can Southgate select the error strewn Everton goalkeeper Pickford over the less error strewn keeper Butland ?

Then Southgate goes and picks the error strewn Stones another ex Evertonian dummy alongside untried Maguire for a world cup game.

Hope it comes off Gareth then there's pitching Sterling with Kane mmmm.....
