  1. Adam showed today that he’s way ahead of Morton in class and physically. Where Morton looks backwards/sideways Adam looks to turn around and open play in the opposing sides half. Morton should be relegated to the subs bench, and only allowed on the pitch to avoid any financial penalty from Liverpool.

How long has Andy Grey been dating the Sheffield United team. He certainly was all over them like a love struck teenager! My god, he was embarrassing. Twat! Lol

🤔 can’t see where you corrected the error. Andy Gray last gig on MAJOR tv channels was in 2011. His and Keys behaviour to females has made them toxic.

There may be a clause, there may not. Morton playing badly and still being in the team doesn't prove there is, much as him being dropped recently doesn't prove he's not.

On the first point, sometimes managers subconsciously attach a bit more calibre to loanees belonging to huge Premiership sides like Liverpool. Also even without a clause, a player might be kept in the team to retain good relationships with Liverpool for future loanees, especially after we (rightly) dropped Clarkson last season. Obviously I'm not saying that's a good policy, but it could factor into the thinking if the management don't see much between Morton and Buckley.

On the second point, we've no idea what form a clause would take if it is there. It could be something like must play 70% of the games he is fit for to avoid a fine, in which case playing him so much early on would mean we barely need to play him now to get that over the line. It could be a monthly thing, where we are charged more if he doesn't play any games in a month, in which case just sticking him in now and then would do the job, but it wouldn't explain how much he was played for most of the season. Or he must start 90% of games he's fit for each month, or over the season, but now we're in the business end of the season and promotion is on the line, we don't give a fuck about the fine anymore. Or it could be pretty much anything else. Without knowing how a clause would be structured, it's impossible to infer whether it does or doesn't exist based on how things have gone.

Bruce you beat me to it. A playing clause doesn’t necessarily mean he plays every game. Look at the stats he’s made more appearances than any other midfielder this season. Based on his performances he should have been pulled from the starting eleven long before he was dropped. Just a point how many games was he actually drooped for?

Who says Morton has that sort of clause in it?

Evidence suggests there’s a clause in the loan agreement. Why has he been immune from being dropped when he’s been poor? JDT was quick to bench both Travis and Buckley, Morton continued to want the ball 5 metres in front of the back four facing his own goal, knocking it back to the defence/goalkeeper which ensured our pedestrian forward movement. It’s obvious there’s a clause.

I think we have very different definitions of the word experience. You seem to be perceiving it as a player in his mid 30's, possibly looking for one last pay day. The Premier League is so awash with money that clubs are often looking at what is new and shiny with plenty of competent players still in their 20's struggling for game time. Players who have wracked up a decent amount of Premier League minutes in their careers.

I was not just looking at players at the end of their careers. I’d include Franco Di Santo, Kasey Palmer, Todd Kane, as failures these players although young would be earning more than our established players. We’ve had a couple of good ones from Man City, and good and bad from Liverpool. Therefore just because they are at a Premier team doesn’t men they are going to improve our team. If you’re looking at experienced premiership players in their mid 20’s that aren’t playing their salaries are in the millions. Again the question would be why are they not being selected? Better to look at recruiting permanent talent that’s going to improve the squad.

In a word, no. There are so many examples of experience being invaluable. To solely pick out the worst of the absolute dross we signed under Kean to suit an argument is silly.

Why is it being silly? We have picked up experienced top league players over the last sixty years that have failed to live up to their reputation. John Redford is another that strings to mind. If a premiership player is out a favour there are a multitude of reasons why they have been overlooked, attitude, injury record, age,  etc. The point is what’s going to add value to the club? Gordon Cowens was a wonderful footballer who really helped the club but he was only with us for a season and a half, and was replaced by a young TIm Sherwood, who couldn’t get in the team when he was bought from Norwich. We have limited funds and need to ensure the benefit is maximised. That’s not a silly argument!

If we're still in the championship then a couple of strikers are a must, Sorba Thomas has been a great addition, a centre mid and possibly a left back. Emphasis on quality over quantity.

    ------

If we got promoted I'd absolutely love us to make an attempt for Victor Gyokeres. Proving his value season after season for Coventry.

I'd be quite open to a combination of top Championship level players (would O'brien still consider us) a couple of overseas recruits and any proven Premier league players who are out of favour. Be shrewd in our recruitment. It would be an almighty scrap to stay in the Prem and if we were relegated, we'd be well set to bounce back.

Like another Danny Murphy and the list of expensive has beens we’ve had in the past. I’m not a lover of Brentford’s manager but they’ve done it without reverting to “out of favour Premier League players” who would bust our pay structure. Better to get the head of recruitment to identify players that can make the step up to the Premiership.

Raya was far from the goalkeeper we see today when he was here, he made so many mistakes in that final season and the Kaminski we have had is far superior to the Raya we had.

Even in his first season at Brentford he made a number of errors including 2 off the top of my head from a backpass from the halfway line and also the one in the play off final. He has since gone from strength to strength and there was talk of a Spanish goalkeeping coach there that they had/have that was part of his desire to go in the first place.

That being said, how sure some people are that Lowe and Benson are terrible coaches has always been a little curious. Maybe it is the frustration that they seem immovable therefore it is not necessarily a case of managers wanting them but they would have to either way? Remember part of the rumoured reason that put Carvalhal off. Or an association with Mowbray (even though he too inherited them) with some seemingly unable to let their hatred of him wane?

You point out 2 off the top of your head. How many top class saves did he make? Sorry he’s expected to make worldies but birch him for a couple of mistakes. He was on the path to becoming a top class keeper. He was not the finished article, but he was still one of the best in keepers in the championship. Keepers are always the fall guys. WHY THE FUCK IS MORTON PICKED EVERY FUCKING MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If he had said FB isn't his best position, fine, but he said he will never be one as long as he has a hole in his arse, when he just won MOTM playing at FB. It was an odd post.

How many first team games in his 50 odd has he played at full back? I think he’s a very talented player who before starting his first team games had never played there. He’s 23 and in his fourth season as a first team player. Apart from a few of his first games all under Mowbray and now JDT have been at full back. I feel sorry for the lad. Was his MOM for his defensive abilities on Saturday or for making one and scoring one against Birmingham? My argument was he’s far better further forward. Don’t understand how that can be an odd post. Were you at the match?

    CM isn't the problem.

    It's a lack of in-form strikers.

Brereton appears to have dropped Diaz from his name.

Gallagher simply isn't good enough. He has one hell of a strike on him but isn't intelligent enough to consistently get in to positions to unleash shots. Nor can he be trusted on-the-ball outside the area, he loses it every time. Needs moving on.

Vale shows willingness but needs a year out on loan to 'toughen up'.

We need two strikers, who can be trusted on and off the ball, in the next three days.

I have to disagree CM manage the game. Our midfield AND defence spend so much time knocking back and forth that the opposition have time to set themselves up to defend. Our forwards are then trying to to beat two and three defenders at a time. The CM need to know when to support the defence, when to slow a game down and when to stretch and game. Take a look at yesterday Dack was constantly looking forward and was JRC, Buckley did try (crazy that he was pulled rather than Morton) but all the out balls went mostly to Morton who EVEN when there was no one around him knocked the ball back to the defence. Birmingham could then get two banks of four around our forwards.

Funny isn't it that JRC's form improves dramatically just when there's 18 months left on his contract? He played like a drain in the first 18 months.

Injuries and being played out of position. As been said he has defensive flaws at fullback, but going forward Morton can’t lace his boots. When we have Brittain back push Joe forward and bench Morton - sorry can’t do that as we don’t want to spoil our special relationship with Liverpool.

When's Morton ever going to be dropped

He’s Mr Teflon Crab, I’ve not seen one person receive so many passes facing his own goal just to knock it back to the defenders. He was to blame for their first goal, plus he got booked early on. Yet it was Buckley who was pulled. He’s bomb proof. He will not be near Liverpool’s first team when he returns. He only looks forward from set pieces even his dad Ray Wilkins moved forward occasionally!

Do you think it's a coincidence that when he's nowhere near the squad we are top and playing well, he's back and we are shit.?  Not a coincidence for me.

I think my nob end friend schooled our entire midfield a couple of weeks ago....you must have been asleep

Garrett hasn't shagged the missus either.

Must be Morton that’s doing the shagging, you don’t seem to have an issue with him constantly taking the ball 5 yards from the centrehalfs and knocking back to Kaminski. Klopp is certainly fucking someone.
