We won't get that for Szmodics he's almost 29 with no top league experience

You don't spend all the money you make as a club from sales especially when you're in as much debt as we are

I'd be buzzing with 20mil for Szmodics if we do sell him but could see it being more 15mil

Saying that then adding in other sales on top with the money we'll get from Raya we'll be at around 45mil made from transfer fees

We're a club in major financial trouble we aren't seeing all of that in fees to sign players if anything we'll spend at most 5/8 hopefully then you have to factor in loan fees and wages

This is a summer were venkys either make a statement and back us with fees for better signings or we continue with frees and loans with maybe 1 or 2 small fees

No matter what though we need to spend money to climb this table or this time next season we're league 1 unfortunately

I know it all wont go on transfers, but we could do with a decent striker or two in the Summer, we don't want to be in the same position next Season, I have been frustrated in the Blackburn end for half of the Season, all the missed sitters from our misfiring strikeforce (Sam Szchmodics not included). A decent centre half and a winger would improve things as well.

If we do sign anyone they'll be free and they'll probably be absolutely gash.

Whats happened to the £19,000,000 for Adam Wharton, according to the club about a month ago in the LT, there will be money available this Summer. Add the 19 million to Sam Szchmodics departure about 20- 25 million (its inevitable) there should be about 40 plus million to build a strong squad to challenge for things next Season.

  3. Sammy Szchmodics keeps us in the Championship, once again if he had'nt been playing we would have been relegated, with no contribution goalwise from the rest of the team. Enough of my rambing on, well done Rovers for securing Championship football at Ewood next Season. I do'nt think we have seen the best of John Eustace yet, we can regroup in the Summer and let John Eustace strengthen the squad for next Season.

I think Preston will get at least a point tonight meaning Leicester will need something on the final day to win the title. Even if they don't, we're not getting anything there so I don't think it matters. We're totally reliant on one of the teams below us not winning. It's therefore not in our hands on the final day in reality.

I'll personally be keeping a very close eye on the Plymouth game as I think that's the key one.

That's been the problem the last 4- 6 weeks of the season, losing and depending on other teams, simply not good enough. Our home form merits relegation, winning only 6 all season. If we stay up we can thank our lucky stars and try and strengthen the squad in the Summer.

3-0 Coventry will be drained and wouldn’t be surprised if they made 5/6 changes, our lads should be up for it a lot more. Hopefully Leicester do the business this weekend and have nothing left either, 1 point will do it

I have been hearing these comments for months, yet we still haven't won at home since Stoke (seems light years away). If these slackers don't want to play league 1 football next season, they had better stay focused and give it 100%.

The latter definitely as at cheap tickets they'll not want to go to any extra expense of stewards and police etc.

If it was full price they'd be given as many as they wanted.

A few Rovers supporters said it was a big mistake giving Sheffield Wednesday 7,000 tickets. I haven't heard the Blackburn End so quite in a long time, They were outsung till the refs whistle. Maybe if the brains upstairs had made last Sundays game £10 a ticket, we might have outsung them, and got something out the game.

First off I've not said it will be easy. In fact, I've not even said it will be 3 points! So I'm not sure where these overconfident vibes are coming from.

It's a fact that Coventry will have played more football in the run up to this game,  including extra time and a midweek game. It is likely the loss to manure will psychologically have been a blow to them. And it's a fact that we have been less awful the last few weeks, with 2 wins and a creditable draw amongst some horrendous losses.

As for going down it's unlikely imo. It relies on 3 of 4 poor teams all picking up points.  Brum have to beat Hudds and couldn't even beat Rotherham. Sheff Weds have been inconsistent. Plymouth don't win many and Huddersfield have been poor of late. I can't see them all overtaking us (only Sheffield of the 4 I think will finish above us.) It's possible but unlikely imo.

I read a few comments before the Sheffield Wednesday game, we should win it etc, over confident to say we haven't won at home since the Stoke game, and what makes you think I was commenting about you.

  8. We must have the worst home record in the country this season, and I wouldn't be surprised if the worst record in Europe. Every team below us have taken points at Ewood apart from Stoke (the last time I saw rovers win on home soil). I will be going to the last home game with not much hope in my heart. We will have to  come up with something pretty special to beat Coventry.

I think we get at least a point out of Coventry, This is based on:

    - They must be knackered. A cup semi defeat in such a manner, after extra time, and a midweek game? They'll be done physically and mentally.

    - Rovers pull out surprising wins when you least expect it, like the Leeds game. We have it in us, and our form has been... okay the last few weeks. (As in not as crummy as it was previously.) Wins against Sunderland and Leeds, a good point vs Southampton, it's not beyond us to put in an ok performance.

Personally I think it's a draw and we limp over the finish line. One extra point should be more than enough, and it'll be hailed as an achievement by all involved. All the while the visitors show us what can happen when you get rid of the vermin infesting your club...

Exactly the same comments before the Sheffield Wednesday game, easy easy 3pts and look what happened, with Coventry and Leicester to come, were in real danger of taking the drop into league 1.

Couldn’t even bring myself to name a team after what I’ve watched. Only player who is cemented would be Smozdics and even he missed a sitter by his standards, not shooting him down for that. Hopefully manure have took a bit of the stuffing out of them today!

I would put Pears up front for Coventry, it would guarantee another home defeat for Rovers.

Didnt he say that he has recommended that we spend, not that there is.

We should expect to win. We are playing 2nd bottom at home, win and relegation is impossible, I dont get the general fear playing against such a poor side at home trying to focus on negating them. It suits them if we sit in and try to defend, if we be aggressive and press high then we can win.

Let's not take them lightly after today's results.

we know that we need players, but the guttersnipe running the club (management aside) are a bunch of incompetents and self serving w*****s,they`ll do whatever suits their own interest and preservation

Broughton said in the Telegraph, there will be money to spend this Summer. Let's hope it's not a tenner on a Sunday league player.

Team selection will be interesting. Although a draw would probably be enough for us, playing for one is fatal more often than not.

Let's not make the fatal mistake of taking the foot off the gas, Sheffield Wednesday will be out to win this one 100%. Let's give it 200% and give the loyal supporters what they deserve, a first win on home soil since the Stoke City  match at Ewood.
