Girona's right winger was as rapid as any we'll see all season. We look much more balanced with Pickering at left back.

Brittain needs to prove himself in his own position before he's played out of position. It's a big season for him, he needs to perform on a regular basis.

Pickering was taken to the cleaners against Girona, they waltzed round him like he wasn't there. Let's hope he puts things right against West Brom.

  2. Unlike some comments who reckon we were rubbish, I disagree, I thougt it was a decent workout for Rovers. Leonard and Markanday on the score sheet, it  will do there confidence a World of good. I thought Ennis looked the business when he came on, and he gave the Spanish defence a few problems at times. somebody mentioned he was slow, they forget he's just recovered from injury, I can see him scoring goals for Rovers. We were unlucky not to level it at 3-3 with a couple of decent chances that just went wide. Dont forget we were playing decent opposition, who beat Real Madrid 4-2  and Sheffield United 2-0.

    Yes it was.

Although, it's one thing doing it in a pre-season kickabout against trialists vying for a gig at League 1 Accrington.

It's another thing completely doing it at Championship level.

We saw what they're made of in the run in last season. Let's see if they can improve this season.

Good point, but scoring can only improve there confidence.

Blackburn Youth Zone are officially behind this and based on donations so far we’re expecting to be able to cover tickets, travel and expenses for around 40 children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access games at Ewood.

If you’d like to donate send myself or Duncan a message.

Well done Youth Zone, for  paying for childrens tickets who cant afford to go to the match. The children are the future of Blackburn Rovers.

You are in this particular endeavour, to quote J*B -

‘If this is attended by 2,000 people and nobody uses/gets involved in the pre/post match activities that The Trust, BRFCS, 4,000 Holes and RoversChat are putting time and resource into for free, Rovers will use it as evidence to show that “we’ve done all we can”. The Fans Forum will be told for years that when they allowed fan involvement there was no economic benefit and no additional enjoyment for fans.

If it’s attended by 10,000 people, who enjoy, get involved with and spend outside the ground they’ll see what The Trust and BRFCS and others have said for years now. There is something special about Blackburn Rovers Football Club and given an opportunity fans will come back. ‘

A low crowd for this friendly proves nothing other than you get low crowds for pre season friendlies in the summer holidays. It shouldn’t either put you off doing other things or be used by the club to somehow show there’s no interest - it’s a kick about in July a few days before the actual curtain raiser.

I can see a big crowd turning up for the friendly a week on Saturday. I will be there to see how the new boys perform and it sounds like a fun day with the Rovers Trust taking over for the day.

I quite like Sunderland as a club, and I don't hate Mowbray. I'm still glad he left though - 5 years is a long time listening to the same shite.

    Good luck to him.

    Anybody but Boro really.

I was on the same bus as some Sunderland supporters on the way to the Ewood fixture, a lot friendlier than some away supporters.

will the newly crowned w****r mowbray triumph in the play offs

I hope he does, he left the foundations for a decent Blackburn Rovers team in the future. You can only work with what you've got at cash strapped Rovers.

I wouldn’t put arbito in that camp. But this isn’t a new phenomenon. It’s why when you go, to say, PNE or Wigan away a good percentage there wouldn’t be seen dead at Ewood and are largely just after a day on the ale and a laugh with mates. Think back to the 80s we’d be taking pretty much as many to some local away games as we’d be getting at home, so obviously many of them non Ewood regulars.

Utter rubbish, I was there against Luton the last home game I enjoyed the day but was gutted with the result. I am sure 99% of Rovers supporters felt the same.
