Some good news for Rovers, Sigurdssen is fit at last and might come off the bench to take part against Ipswich. Another tough one for Rovers, Ipswich have won 6 and lost 1 since being promoted to the Championship. I am going to put my head on the chopping block and say 1-2 to Rovers after the disappointment against Sunderland, with Sigurdssen on the score sheet.

The guy last night sat next to me kept screaming never a penalty, after seeing the replay he clearly made contact with the player. We were flying the first 10 or so minutes with some classy moves but same problem, our strikers misfiring and putting the ball in row 31 of the stands. I think it was Leonard correct me if I'm wrong who had a golden opportunity right in front of goal, how he blazed it over the bar had the Blackburn End in disbelief. It is vital we get our best strikers geling together and becoming permanent names in the team and doing what their paid for, sticking it in the back of the net. Some of our moves last night were Premier class, there were groans all around the ground when our poor finishing failed to find the net. Unless we get our strikers scoring on a regular basis, Premier class moves from Blackburn Rovers will count for nothing.

Strange as I thought we played some scintillating football and could have had 5 or 6 on another day. JDT is working wonders and turning water into wine. Roll on Wednesday.
True some decent football, but same problem, not being able to finish a game and hanging on by our fingertips the last 15-20 minutes. We need to learn how to put a game beyond the reach of the opposition.

If we can take the 3 pts against Sunderland, we would be hovering around the top 6 and our injured players wouldn't be to far away from rejoining the squad.

not sure if you`ve been abscent from everything rovers connected but we don`t have a strike force, the situation has been going on from the start of jdt`s reign ,gallagher is`nt a goalscorer, dolan is`nt anything, leonard is raw and telalelovic has never played in england,it`s not ideal but then our owners are a bunch of ***** and criminals(allegedly!!!!!)
If I was manager, Schmodics would be playing up front.

I was,nt impressed with Yesterday's performance, it took a midfielder to take the points, and he was unlucky not to get a hat trick if it wasn't for a good save from the Boro keeper. If Schmodics had not been playing we would have lost the game 0-1. From the last 2 games our strikers have scored 0 goals. Let's hope our strikers find their scoring boots against Sunderland Wednesday. We'll done Rovers for bouncing back against Boro and let's have some goals from our strike force.

I much prefer Infant Annihilator but I think mayhem would be a better fit what with their open love of fascism.
Oh and before I forget,
Fuck off Jordan Henderson you souless shallow piece of shit. You are a disgrace to humanity.
Manchester City are funded with an endless pot of gold from the Arabs. You don't get an endless pot of gold playing the good tooth fairy. I prefer 6os and early 70s football, there was a transfer ceiling of 100,000, and every team had an opportunity of silverware over a season.

We could do with a brave government to introduce a super rich tax, some spoilt footballers of today definitely fit into this bracket. The excess tax could help the poorest earners out.

Haven't been on this site for a month or so, my tablet broke down just got a new one. Before a ball was kicked on Saturday, I was saying to a friend this one could be a stumbling block after the easy efl cup tie. We have time to put things right with the international break. We could have Sigurdsen and the new signing from Monchengladback in contention for the Boro game. Hopefully we will make it fortress Ewood again for this one.
-
Unfortunately I will miss the Hull city match Saturday, I will be babysitting a family members dog while they are on holiday. Hope the rest of you enjoy the game and we make it fortress Ewood and take the 3pts.
-
Sam Gallagher back in contention, his work rate is excellent, his goal scoring could do better. He might have to up his game to get back in the team with Leonard, Markanday and Ennis beginning to find the net.

1 win in 7 there since they moved to there "new ground".
I think we might see a similar pattern to last season with games like this not being for us, think Reading, Cardiff, Wigan, Coventry, Rotherham etc.
Rotherham 1 Rovers 0
I have faith in this team, showed some neat touches against Girona and w.b.a, Rotherham 0 Rovers 3.

Just go and compare it to others down the years and it's pretty standard.
You'd have to have had your head in the sand the last 20 years to expect anything else for these games.
Riverside has been closed for years for these as well.
Your quoting me on this comment, it was for somebody who asked what the attendance was.

How many did you expect for an early round league cup game?

A poor performance first half hour, to many passes going astray.Walsall were up for this one and took full advantage to take the lead. Great to see Ennis and Buckley on the score sheet. We always make things difficult for ourselves these days, cruising at 4-2, I went to the toilet and came back to see the score was 4-3.

Anyone know the attendance from last night?
It wasn't a decent turnout, Riverside closed vacant seats in the Blackburn end.

Ha ha Dack was in that mould, but when it comes to the best example off a (genuine) Rovers legend with a big arse, Dunny wins hands down every day!
Dunny was well built, but a decent footballer. Let's not knock Ennis till we have seen him given some decent match time.

Personally I would still play the same "spine" as we need to settle into a way of playing and everyone is fresh after the summer. Also as we have no world cup we have nothing like as many mid week game (only three mid week Championship games between now and end of November).
Pears
Brittain. Hyam. Wharton. Pickering
Travis Buckley. Wharton
Markanday Leonard. Szmodics
I agree with JDT, we have a more threadbare squad than last season at the moment, he's resting Travis who took a few knocks at the weekend but should be fit for Saturday and a few others.
-
Adam and Scott Wharton will play according to the Lancashire Telegraph, also Ennis is getting game time to build up his fitness.

Don't forget the 7-0 pasting at home to Fulham that he also didn't give a fuck about.
What a dick head that bloke is.
I was at both, Morcambe and the nightmare that unfolded against Fulham after Van Heck was sent off early.

You're forgetting league 1 players got a call up before Hedges....
Early days, the best 11 get the nod. We have yet to see Siggurdsen and Ennis in action for 90 minutes. After watching Rovers against Girona and West Brom, I have good vibes about this Rovers squad, there beginning to gel and play like a team.

Would like to see Gilsenan and Ennis get a game in. This fixture has come at a good time
I agree, would like to see Ennis for 90 minutes, but let's not get carried away, one of our best chances of silverware is the EFL cup. Let's have some decent players on the bench incase things don't go to plan. I can remember us playing Morcambe in the EFL cup with a second string squad, and we lost it 1-0.

Yeah, but that's not bad after 106 minutes of obvious intense scrutiny.
It was a battling performance from Rovers to see us over the line after 104 minutes. The Blackburn End was rocking when Leonard scored the 2nd. If we can play like this consistently over the season, we will be in the mix for the top 6.

I am so happy to win our first game with what looked like an under strength team. Cometh the hour, cometh the men. Great result. .
Keep Travis, get the Iceman fit, bring in another winger to spread the options and keep JDT.
Job doneMy thoughts exactly, a winger to whip crosses into the box. After saying that I thought we played well down the wings and got the ball in the danger zone several times.

The last 4 games Rovers have dropped 9pts out of 12, mainly down to Pears and his dip in form, he was responsible for Rovers not coming away with a point against Ipswich. He punched the ball instead of catching it right in front of an Ipswich forward who stuck it in the back of the net. As for Wednesday night closing the Blackburn End will make the crowd even smaller. I was impressed with Sigurdessons debut, were getting there players who can stick the ball in the net.
