Big results today, feel a little more relaxed about tomorrow now!
Don't forget it will make Sheffield Wednesday more determined after today's results. We need to stay focused and give it 100% till the refs whistle.

Didnt he say that he has recommended that we spend, not that there is.
We should expect to win. We are playing 2nd bottom at home, win and relegation is impossible, I dont get the general fear playing against such a poor side at home trying to focus on negating them. It suits them if we sit in and try to defend, if we be aggressive and press high then we can win.
Let's not take them lightly after today's results.

With Huddersfield losing today, it makes it more important we don't lose to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. Let's make it 3pts and safety.

we know that we need players, but the guttersnipe running the club (management aside) are a bunch of incompetents and self serving w*****s,they`ll do whatever suits their own interest and preservation
Broughton said in the Telegraph, there will be money to spend this Summer. Let's hope it's not a tenner on a Sunday league player.

If you take away Sam Szchmodics 30 goals this season in the Championship, Rovers would be well adrift at the bottom. Doesn't say much for the rest of the strike force this Season. Its crystal clear we're we need to spend in the Summer, providing we reach safety in the Championship.

Team selection will be interesting. Although a draw would probably be enough for us, playing for one is fatal more often than not.
Let's not make the fatal mistake of taking the foot off the gas, Sheffield Wednesday will be out to win this one 100%. Let's give it 200% and give the loyal supporters what they deserve, a first win on home soil since the Stoke City match at Ewood.

Truth; what a sobering thought this is. Why the wonderful fans we have, continue to show up, I do not know. My hat is off to them.
We have better fans, than we have admin, players & coaches. truthfully, I’ve wondered how Portsmouth, Sunderland, Derby, etc, continue to draw the crowds they do.
It's the wa--ers upstairs to blame, Venkys, Waggott for example. Waggot has balls up twice in two seasons registering players that were signing for Rovers to late after the deadline. As for the Venkys, send them to the Ukraine with blanks.

It's plain and simple from here, win our remaining home games or these spineless losers are playing league 1 football next season. A tall order when you study statistics, Rovers have won 1 of their last 13 home games in the Championship.

Your underestimating how bad the sides below us are.
Genuinely think we could lose the next 4 fairly comfortably and still stay up due to sides around us all playing each other.
Wouldn't count on it, when this team put their mind to it there the worse in the Championship.

I've just read that Arnor Sigurdsson is out for the rest of the season.
He won't be missed as much as Hedges but it weakens our bench.
We could do with some of the spineless losers at Blackburn Rovers being out of the team forever, not fit to wear the shirt.

Bit of a problem that. Hedges isn't a world beater but he's better than Sigurdsson and Markanday. Would be a bit risky chucking Gilsenan in given our situation but could be an option off the bench at least.
He scored for Republic of Ireland under 21s. It would be priceless if he could do the same for Rovers.

Some people reckon this is an easier fixture, Bristol City have a decent record against Blackburn Rovers in the last few seasons. Let's give it 100% and try and get something out of the game.

Just looked at the remaining fixtures of the other 8 at risk clubs. Plymouth appear very vulnerable but my main take was while I expect 22nd to get to 49 points, there are too many relegation head to heads for a relegated club to get above 49 points unless the bottom starts a bloodbath regularly beatng the promotion and playoff seekers.
A long way of saying we have to get a point from this one.
A defeat turns the Wednesday game from must not lose to must win unless we somehow win at Leeds.
A win at Ashton Gate will be very close to securing Championship status because our goal difference is looking ok to keep us up if it comes down to that with just 4 to go .
So every reason for seeking a win so long as we lock out at the back.
What have other clubs got to do with Blackburn Rovers, our fate is in our own hands. I agree with John Eustace, we're not interested in other clubs, just getting Blackburn Rovers in the safety zone.

If we can draw our way to safety then great. But if we do go down it will be too many draws that will have done it under JE.
(I’m talking about JE’s reign and what he could influence, I’m aware that the wheels had come off with JDT and he also would take some blame).
We could do with winning on home soil to reach the safety zone, settle for a point away.

A solid performance from Rovers, and rewarded with a hard fought point. Either team could have took all 3 pts. A fantastic defensive display from Brittain, a well earned man of the match award.

Brittain did get MotM. It was announced after FT that there had been an incorrect announcement.
Back to his best Brittain. Were beginning to get a solid defence, if we stay in the Championship we need to do the same in attack in the Summer.

It's time we made Ewood Park, fortress Ewood again, most of the season teams have been coming here and walking away with 3 easy points. My prediction 3-0 Rovers if we have the same hunger for goals as we did against Sunderland.

I used to like wearing ties but I just wear casual stuff these days. I’ve got loads, mostly nice silk ones. Some by “ Turnbull & Asser “:, James Bond’s shirt maker. I should put them on EBay really.
They all wear them in the Blackburn End, suit and ties.

Its an interesting question how we would play if Szmodics does moved on. We could go 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 or move Buckley into the 10 role but with that it would mean a change of style cos he can't play the 10 role like Szmodics. I think we need a signing in that position but I would say Szmodics ain't left yet tho
I would love Szchmodics to sign a new contract for Blackburn Rovers, but what's the betting Celtic snap him up in the Summer, he's a Republic of Ireland international.

Some supporters in the Blackburn end last Friday were chanting useless Eustace, I wonder if they were singing the same chant against Sunderland yesterday. It was long overdue for the miserable faithful on the road a decent result away, but it will count for nothing if we fail to follow it up with a win on home soil.

Well I suppose somebody has to start the thread 😄.
Another huge game in our relegation scrap against a Sunderland team whose season is pretty much over. I looked at their team yesterday and noticed that Jack Clarke is doubtful and Patrick Roberts is coming back from a hamstring injury. In the recent past those two have been a real thorn in our side and if they don't play it gives us a better chance of getting a result. I guess the big question is how Eustace approaches this game. My gut feeling is that it will essentially be the same side and shape as Good Friday with perhaps Gallagher coming in. I'm reasonably confident that we can keep a clean sheet as Sunderland have struggled to score this season. It's scoring that worries me as we are far too reliant on Szmodics and we have only scored seven goals in the nine games since Eustace came in (I'm not giving him the Stoke game). Despite that I just have a feeling we can nick this. We have played well in the last two league matches which gives me hope.
For anybody who is driving up the A59 is closed over Blubberhouses and diversions are in place. However these diversions added half an hour to our journey time to Middlesbrough so please factor this in along with the usual Easter Monday traffic.
To rub salt in the wounds, BBD scored 2 for Sheffield United on Saturday. Just imagine BBD still here with Sam Szchmodics backing him up. We would definitely be going for the top 6. Hopefully we can remain in the Championship, then John Eustace can build his own team in the Summer with some decent goalscorers signed, the main ingredient missing from the Rovers team this Season. I know we have Sam Szchmodics, but you cannot but all the burden on one player.

A nervy Rovers crowd doesn't help the cause, it must get through to Rovers players from time to time. Let's remain calm and hope Rovers dig us out of this hole we're being sucked into.
-
Once again we outplayed a top team Ipwich for around about 70 minutes last Saturday, but once again failed to put the ball in the back of the net. If we don't start scoring goals soon, Rovers will become a decent team playing league 1 football. My prediction Sunderland 0 Rovers 2. Wishful thinking !!

My first Rovers game for a long time
Living up in North East and having a young family means not many opportunities
Even though we're abysmal at present I'm still looking forward to it
Got to move away from back 5 now. We are massively missing Tronstad I think, need someone to win the ball back

Can't be with an overdose of putting the ball in the back of the net.

I would put Pears up front for Coventry, it would guarantee another home defeat for Rovers.
