  1. I wonder, what would we all do, if the club really did just disappear one day in administration? It's a bit like thinking of the last days of the Romans in Britain - lots of infrastructure, a glorious past, reminders of what once had been all around, but in reality everything out of step with the here and now.

Blackburnus Romanus Fama Defuncta.. I remember them..

    Don't upset the Eustace cult.

Let's not forget, he came in here 12 months ago and read from the hymn book. Didn't miss a beat about operation survival and what a mess the club was.

12 months later and he'll leave us because of lack of ambition when the club is in the top 6?

Smacks of an opportunist who talks out of both sides of his mouth.

IF he leaves, then he deserves the lies he may have been told over the last 12 months as he was telling just as many himself.

Unfortunately for us, our club will eventually be filled with the types of characters that our ownership and leadership deserve.

    Hmm....

The issue is though, he's brought some self-respect and sense of identity back to the team, and somehow managed to knit together a disparate rag bag of players into a reasonably cohesive unit. Not many other managers we've endured recently have been anywhere near that, and most have had a much better deal in terms of money being spent.

If he does go, I think he will be a success wherever he goes, Derby or anyhwere else, as he clealry has the management and leadership skills and capabilties needed to make a real difference - and that will be really difficult to replace.

  3. Laboured, lacklustre, leggy, lightweight, leaderless, lost little lads, lacking leverage in losing like languishing laguards.

BbC showed Waggott several times, looking like some deranged bog eyed escapee from Old Gates.

The manner of the loss wasn't the issue. It was the inevitability of it. Ah well, let's see if JE can steer us to a decent finish. 15 cup finals here we come.

  4. Betting suspended on Eustace for Derby County according to my news feed. Make of it what you will, but if he goes, I think there would be decent odds on the Rams finishing higher than Rovers this campaign..

Back to today.. it is a scratch team, but JE did say he would be throwing in the new boys for this game, and so it appears from the team sheet.

If we suffer an embarrassing reverse, Ruby should be hung by the knackers from the statue of Uncle Jack. If we somehow win, then perhaps he could be given the reins, if JE decides to head to the midlands.

    COYB!

  5. For anyone actually going to the game, just a reminder that Livesey Branch Road is CLOSED at Green Lane, due to a gas main leak which is still under investigation and repair. It will be chaotic due to being the approach to the ground for many of the 4500 Wolves fans making the trip from the MIdlands. There is a diversion in place, but it won't cope well will the extra traffic.

Be warned! Be early! And B R F C S forget the gloom and doom sayers, it's a game and we want to win!

    COYB!

  6. There's nothing to suggest much interest in this game locally, and certainly nothing on offer to incentivise local participation in the event.

It will, without a doubt, be more like a home game for Wolves, than for the Rovers.

It speaks volumes of the desperate and disheartening times we are now forced to endure to compare the relative fortunes of today's sides with those from 20 odd years ago, when Wolves made it to the Premier League.

We had quality right through the ranks then, and it just goes to show how far we have fallen to think how many of the players in the game above are way better than those we look to for inspiration these days.

So, not being funny, but I don't see any prospect of anything other than a defeat tomorrow.

Rovers fed to the Wolves: BRFC 1 WWFC 4

Lambs to the slaughter: Bo Peep FC 0 BBW 5

Wolverine meets scratch Team: Rovers 1 Wolverines 3

    Not really bothered either way.

    But wft, COYB!

I felt like Hedges and Beck had the run of their right back for the majority of the first half. It was a link up that worked quite well

Aye, but Hedges kept running it into one of theirs, losing control, putting the ball out - lots of huff and puff, but no real impact or threat. You need your wide men to create things, for themselves and for the strikers - I didn't feel like Hedges did anything to worry the PNE back line all evening.

Watch him get the nod and score a wonder-goal and get an assist for two others this evening (in my wildest dreams)

    Anyway, COYB!!

  8. I wonder how the squad feels about the additions that have come on board, and perhaps more importantly, how Mr Eustace is disposed towards his new resources? It would be great if he is feeling relaxed and ready to work them into his plans.

Tonight I think we need to go back to basics and make ourselves hard to break down. Concentrate on defending properly and hope to nick a goal or two through our ability to move the ball around quickly in counter attacks. The Cantwell / Travis axis will be key to that, and if the Big Mak continues his recent form, there is always the chance of a chance, if you see what I mean.

    Take it up the R's - QPR 0 - Rovers 1

    Rodney Marsh's Revenge - Hoops 2 Rovers 0

Rovers Run Riot- Rangers 0 Rovers 3

Most likely score line is a narrow victory for either side. JE has us working as a team, but although the wheels haven't completely fallen off recently, you feel like there is always that potential, especially when we are so hamstrung through injuries (pardon the pun).

    COYB!!
