He bicep Trouser Boy to the moon within a week of landing the job, to be sure. It has a certain sentimental appeal, but Savage is a clever bloke, and he would definitely be able to see way past the gloss & hype to the realities of working under the bumble brothers. Same goes for Damian Duff.

Steady on boys. No need to lose our heads. Unless, of course, the reality is that the team selections and choices of substitute were indeed out of VI's hands, and foisted on him like some unwitting voyeur in a cuckolding contest by the jockeys behind the curtain... Not saying that was the case, mind. As for tonight, it is hard to see past the on-field ineptitude of the past few weeks for any clue as to the likely outcome. We know, unfortunately, that not all of the recruitment in recent months has been for bona-fide players at the standard and quality required to compete in the Championship. We know, from weeks (nay, months!) of painful observation that there doesn't appear to be a collective desire to win games amongst the rabble currently wearing the blue and white. We know that confidence is shot to pieces amongst the first XI squad, other than their willingness to pass sidways and backwards. We know that our strikeforce couldn't get any more ineffective even by going on strike. We also know that the Sheffield Wednesday contingent are playing only for pride and to pick up wages, so they don't actually give a fook (which probably helps them raise their game individually and collectively. But then again, what DO we know? All we can say is that in theory, the departure of VI presents a decent opportunity for someone else to come in and try to put their stamp on the resources at their disposal (as meagre and beleaguered as they are). It is no coincidence that the potting of VI was timed to save a few bob in filling in the holes that needed filling. It is no surprise that there isn't (apparently) anyone lined up to take up the reins - forward planning and strategy aren't facets of the imbecilic morons behind the scenes, after all. We can but dream that there is a plan. Perhaps this evening will give us a glimpse under the duvet? Aim low, then you won't be disappointed. But darts in the dark? That's never been a happy outcome for anyone. Evening's fare: Rovers 1 Owls 1 Evening's farce: Rovers 4 Owls 0 Evening's fear: Rovers 0 Owls 2 COYB!! -

To be royally and deservedly entertained for 90 minutes, with Arte et Labore to the fore. Just for once in a long while, to feel like there is some pride in pulling on the Blue and White jersey, and some semblance of a thoroughly professional approach from our ragbag of misfits and toffee apples. Not much to ask. -

Finally managed to get the ticketing system to accept my dosh, so it should be 7,801 at least. I think there might be a bit of a (literal) groundswell of support, in the short term at least, and perhaps a little optimism that brighter times are ahead. Let's face it, there wasn't much chance of it getting much bleaker! Or was there? Will need to sleep on the news before penning a prediction. Watch ths space eh? -

Bloody Rovers ticketing system wont allow me to buy a ticket for this - I've been around the loop seven times so far on different devices, but it logs me out and empties my basket of the selected seat every time. I dont have the time to get to the ticket office, so it looks like someone at Ewood wants me to sit this one out. Bonkers. -
Thank you for taking the time to write such a fulsome ans measured response. It is reading this kind of content that makes BRFCS a draw for me in the first place 😉 I am heartened to know that debate and open scrutiny of ideas is alive and kicking in this noisy and time-pressed world in which we live. Cheers DE!

Well, like it or not, the statement is one of fact, not speculation, which makes your petulance somewhat questionable. Methinks you might be deliberately seeking to undermine the point I was seeking to make, about wider awareness and scrutiny of the goings on at Ewood under the Venkashati yoke. Each to their own, I guess.

Article this morning in the Guardian shows that there are eyes upon our predicament outside of Ewood Park, and that there is genuine concern in the game that something foul has been foisted upon our club in its 'celebratory' 150th year. Read it and weep (Rovers fans) Read it and gloat (Dingle scum) Read it, reflect and feck off! v Hull City (h) - 31/1/26
Old Codger replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hull. At home. Not long ago we'd have looked over at Hull and concluded that THEY were a team in crisis - transfer embargo, struggling for form, managerial merry-go round, blah blah bah bloody humbug.. Now, when we crane our necks to squint at the fortunes of both clubs, we are immediately assaulted by the stench of something whiffy coming from Ewood, and the collective confidence-boosting pong of prosperity emanating from the testosterone filled corridors of the MKM stadium. Like lambs to the slaughter, the faithfull will tramp down Bolton Road and Livesey Branch Rd to witness a catalogue of orchestrated ineptitude unfold catastrophically and without apology from the tactical vasectomy (or is it lobotomy) that is our managerial melange, with players dry humping the opposition whilst being comprehensively bummed senseless in return by a Hull side riding high on confidence and coherence. Of course the return of talismanic figures who actually know what the onion bag is for may galvanise our rabble into something akin to a response, but I fear that the gap between these two clubs' fortunes is more likely to be amplified than narrowed following today's badly drawn tactical shitfest. Just so you know, if I see that double barrelled arsehole holding out his hands in supplication once again in confused appeal following yet another of his unerringly misplaced 'passes', I may take the law into my own hands and call down the wrath of hellfire onto his shameless head. Can you tell I'm not feeling the vibe for this one? Is it obvious that I'm leaning towards the inevitability of disappointment? Is it there in my words that, despite it being an eminently winable fixture, my expectation is more that significantly loaded with an expectation of embarrassment? I thought so. Thanks for stopping by. Rovers ruin your Saturday (again) - BRFC 0 Tigers 2 Rain stops play - BRFC 1 Tigers 0 match abandoned due to crisp packets spontaneously combusting in the Blackburn End upper. Rovers negotiated this with the FA, as the broom cupboard where the fax machine is kept gets too cold over the weekend due to the heating being switched off at midday on a Friday, and it takes a while to warm up again once the switch is flicked at Monday 2.30pm after training. Oh, and it takes a while to get the fax machine out from behind the Henry vac, the Amway cleaning stuff that has been stuck in there since Shelfy left, and the piles of unanswered letters from disgruntled fans which Pasha can't read as he never bothered with any of that old fashioned and inconvenient school stuff as a kid. And, of course, the broom cupboard is locked, in case anyone seeks to tamper with the slightly dodgy switch on the fax, which was bought for £2.73 at a car boot sale in Longridge in 2012. It doesn't really matter when the deadline is - Rovers management pledged to 'get their business done early' this January. And so it is. Deadline be damned, except for outgoing players and incoming wonga for the beshitted ones. PASHA OUT! UNRELIABLE TEA BOY OUT! VENKYS OUT! -

Yes. That is an absolute insboy errult in its own right, and sackable from my perspective. We are used to the term 'schoolboy error' being used for players, but such a basic inability to maintain the traditions of the club in it's 150th year smacks of both terminal incompetence and potential two fingered salutory to the fans. Bargain Basement specialists Blackburn Rovers. Bottom feeders, getting ready for the Bum's Rush. Bah! -

Hello JPT, Condolences on your loss - we miss our mothers more than we anticipate, once they have gone... Do you know what school she went to? Was she Catholic or CoE? Mine was CoE, born in 1938 and went to St Hilda's (now St. Wilfrids). I'm sure there must be other Rovers fans on here of similar vintage to us (I'm in my 60s). The game must have been early to mid 1950s, I guess, based on your mum's year of birth. Different times, eh?! OC -

It is a moot point, that the club (aka Mr Short pants and the Shadow Hider) thought it 'good business' to sell a young prospect to a lower league club only to try to replace him with a clearly inferior alternative at a much higher cost. If anything shows the abject incompetence and incredible ineptitude of the Chuckle Brothers then this is it. It also highlights the much greater long term impact of their weird pseudo-strategy, which places Blackburn Rovers on an inevitable and predictable decline towards failure. Why there is no outrage amongst the fan base about the constant opening of the seacocks by these destructive knobheads is a mystery to me. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see the trajectory keeps being revised down and the likely outcome keeps becoming gloomier under their odious hands. Knobheads OUT! VENKYS OUT! -

Are you completely mad? Gestede will be having a mini-hissy fit because a) there was a definite impact of the boycott at the game on Saturday and that means he will be under scrutiny and b) he definitely reads this forum and his stupid schoolboy ego will want someone to bash to compensate for all the hurtful things people say about his teensy weensy ikkle football brain which we all can see is weak and shrivelled and about as much use as clingfilm would have been in saving the Titanic. Pasha will be chuckling mildly in that clearly slightly unhinged way he exhibits when caught in the limelight, because after all, he knows there is nothing to do because the coffers that he allows small change to be dropped into are now completely empty. Unless you know different, it seems more likely that there will be outgoings rather than incomings, to balance the dodgy 'surface' books (the real accounts being something only those behind the curtains in Madame's smoking parlour in Pune get to pore over). And anyway, hasn't the crazy bumbling frog uttered the magical words, "Players coming back from 'injury' (yeah right)..?" So,don't hold your breath old bean. Call foul instead. -

Fair play to anyone actively staying away today. It is time that the fans showed some cojones in light of the appalling anti-strategy that has been foisted on the club by the shadow man and his super-light-sidekick / glove puppet (and yes, I believe it entirely possible that Pasha has his hand firmly up that lad's backside working his mealy mouth. Despite it being a boycott game, I suspect most of us will still have a glance at the score and this forum as the afternoon unfolds. It is well beyond any reasonable time for some of the better 'injured' players to be coming back into contention, so with any luck there might be a bit more steel and resolve about our utterly plan-free game plan. That said, if I see TGH holding his hands out in supplication one more time following yet another baffling attempt to put the ball anywhere his team mates aren't, I may well feck the laptop out of the nearest window. Here is to a miraculous change of fortune against the hornets.. Whilst he got his fair share of pelters when he was here, (Gurning Chump etc from me) Mowbray was a manager held in high regard within the game, especially by others from his era (I spoke to both Mark Hughes and Mick McCarthy about Mowbray and both were very complimentary about him and his approach). Like others at the time I couldn't see the pressure he must have been under to conform to 'the model' that is now visible in all of its glory via Pasha and Gestede. On reflection, perhaps TM was just ground down like the rest of us, and his gurning demeanour simply a reflection of his being prevented from doing the things he wanted to do. Perhaps we will never know, but since JDT, Eustace and now (it seems) Ismael have all now complained of the same constraints on their ability to deliver results, I think we can all agree that the success of Blackburn Rovers as a competitive football club is NOT the main objective for whoever is actually driving the club. Ultimately, that space is occupied by the odious absentee owners, whose work appears delegated to the deeply questionable capabilities of Suhail shady boy Pasha (who as we know trousers a healthy salary year in year out and appears accountable to no-one). VENKYS OUT! PASHA OUT! -

To be fair, the Hull player should have been sent off too, for a) starting the incident by wrestling Osmajic to the ground, then getting right in his face (literally) when he challenged him. Ref got that only half right. Mind you, sometimes it is good to have something of a psycho on your team, as it gives off an air of unpredictability and an edge, in the way that none of our current squad do. I think Yuki says thank you every time he gets clobbered - Japanese manners and all that..(Samurai he isn't, as Samurai never wore contact lenses, as far as I know). -

Oh, and Jorgensen must be pinching himself this evening, thinking how lucky he was to avoid having to turn out against Man Citeh tonight, rather than Swansea Citeh..(current score Bodo Glimt 2 Citehh 0) I mean, there's much less risk in playing alongside cloggers, against cloggers, for a club with a clogged drainage system in a town where folk still routinely wear clogs to visit the Clog and Billycock. Oooh, the glamour must have turned his head. -

When is Yuki going to get some consideration from a referee, I wonder. The push at Ipswich was so blatant and obvious it made no sense for the officials to simply blank it. He must wonder what he has done to end up so regularly the target of 'clumsy' (i.e. cynical and intentional) challenges every game, which very rarely result in the game being stopped or anyone being penalised (except of course where the twat in the black gives Yuki the card instead!). Anyway, when I looked at that teamsheet I wondered for a moment if I'd stumbled into the U21s page on the Rovers website, rather than knowing instantaneously which senior pros were turning out for the cause this evening. Hiding to nothing, methinks. Twat em, Rovers. COYG! -

Rovers are well and truly in the doldrums at the moment, with confidence up front shot to pieces, confidence in the middle seemingly mired in negativity and showboating, and confidence at the back collapsing with new (and mandatory game time) faces displacing shoe-ins who had been performing well... Even our Talisman (Moses Toth) couldn't keep the floodgates from opening on his return to the fold, despite performing heroics at Ipswich. So a trip to the Swansea.com stadium on a cold tuesday evening holds little scope for optimism for even the most diehard fans of our emasculated club. As others have pointed out, however, Rovers often serve up a surprise when the darkness appears deepest, which means it is not a foregone conclusion that the faithful few will trudge back up the country to a late bed with their tails between their legs and oaths of desperate skullduggery towards the clownpants committee of incompetent morons on their minds. Like many on here, I'm losing the desire to continue having my nose rubbed raw in shit and salt on an ongoing basis, but hey ho - it could be worse... (I'm clearly being ironic here..)
