You know there are, you see them on here every day. How many goals? How many games lost against the very worst teams?

There's all sorts of reasons that a signing the club wants to make doesn't happen, chief among them affordability. A few others? The players desire to join a specific team, family not wanting to move to a certain area, other clubs making better offers. Ash clouds. Not pressing the right fucking button.

There's no way you can know that. I find it difficult to believe anyone can be that sure about the how this club is run to make such a statement.

I don't think anyone has suggested he's on a similar wage here as he was previously? I've got a problem with him being offered any kind of standard contract, considering how little money we have.

We absolutely won't be signing a goalkeeper. I think Pears recently signed a new deal and Leo wasn't cheap. We also don't have any money. Potentially we'll pick up another pensioner but expecting an outlay on a new number one is farcical.

You're making a fair few assumptions here based on a hunch.

1 (one) of those signings made any real positive impact on the team over the season. There is very little quality on that list of freebies, punts and bottom of the barrel loans.

Rovers' statement could have said GB left to find intelligent life in the solar system, doesn't mean a thing. As has been posited earlier in the thread, I believe he was made redundant to cut costs and either the new roles pay less (the incoming welshman seems to have been out of work for a year) or internal fuck ups mean that they end up spending more. I don't believe a word of any official press release.

Incredibly difficult to be excited by any hire who will work directly under Waggot. Either they'll tow the line and compound our problems or strive to improve the club and be forced out.

Forgive me for not thinking you playing football manager is the same as real life. We won't spend £5m and if by some miracle we do it won't catapult us 10 places up the league.

Fella you need to start using your brain. We were the 4th worst team in the league last year, arguably worse. Our squad is far pooper than "most teams", and will get worse before the end of the window without investment way beyond £5m. It's not happening but this squad needs at least £15m investment to be competitive.

A very quick point - if you think the quality of the loans under Broughton were even a small part of him leaving them you haven't been paying attention.

None of this remotely proves that Ruddy is the number one target. Not even close.
