  1. He's also been wrong many, many times. Yeah, he's obviously decently connected but taking what a journo says as gospel is going to leave you disappointed.
  2. Quite. Plenty of fans experience the "what the fuck am I doing here?" while standing freezing their arse off in some Midlands away end, watching their team get tonked by a perennial championship also ran, but the question takes on a deeper meaning when it comes to Rovers. Surely by now the only reasonable explanation is a thought experiment: how long can a long standing football club survive with close to zero funding.
  3. I appreciate that the void left by the lack of communication by the club means people are scrabbling for information, but "Alan nixon said so" is laughable.
  4. Seems the majority have realised we won't be spending any real money this summer. Someone up the page also mentioned a fire sale of current players which wouldn't surprise me in the least. With the known financial challenges and JE's comments I fully expect close to £0 spent on fees this summer. Gally will be our first striker come the start of the season.
  5. Alright well let's just leave it there. No hard feelings.
  6. Let me get this straight; I hate the club if I think it's reasonable that McGuire has a pop at Rovers? If that's your stance I think I'll bow out of the conversation cos that's beyond me.
  7. I wasn't being condescending, I was highlighting that I understand where the issues with the club lie. And no, I'm not including myself. I didn't fly a promising striker over on a promise, take pictures, announce it to the world, damn near get him to sign a contract before sending him packing. Not sure I follow your maccies analogy. If they fuck up your order yeah, don't go back if you don't want to?
  8. Yeah you're right, he should have said the tea lady and the receptionist were exempt from blame and that Rovers have some great fans. When (a lot of) people on here - myself included - say the club stinks from top to bottom I think it's a given we don't mean the fella that mops the floor.
  9. I guess we just disagree as I feel he has every right to criticise the club as a whole. More so than most. Good luck to him finding a club interested in an out of contract international striker? I reckon he'll be fine.
  10. Fella we fucked the player over. He has every right to badmouth the club.
  11. With all due respect, piss off. Don't tell me how to support my club and don't try to police how I feel about it.
  12. Why can't I be angry at the club? I love this club but I can't stand anything about it right now.
  13. The lad thought his dream move was happening. Twice. He was in the building holding up a shirt. I'm sure he has other options and in his shoes I'd be asking for another £5k a week from Rovers to even pick up the phone.
  14. A rude awakening for anyone hoping for real money to be spent. This is now confirmation of what a few on here have said. One, maybe two small purchases from league one, frees and bargain loans. Calling it, Gally will be our first striker come next season.
  15. I should hope we didn't see the best of him here, seeing as he was dreadful.
  16. Can you try something for me? Take a second and try to be objective about this. Do you honestly see the club as it stands paying £2.5m on Sorba Thomas? Moreover, can you honestly say that would be a good signing? Honestly?
  17. I guess we'll know how true this is at the end of the transfer window. I'm expecting close to nothing spent and vindication for GB.
  18. A fair point but ultimately Eustace and chaddy can claim the 3rd win and it still be terrible performance.
  19. It matters little either way, both are shocking records.
  20. 3 wins in 16. Say it slowly. Also I don't see what asking a forum member what they would do achieves, they're not a manager.
  21. One thing about today I noted was the poor game management after the red. From 60-65 they were on the ropes somewhat and the crowd was up - another quarter of an hour of that and even we would have scored. However we allowed them to slow it down, committed a few sloppy fouls and suddenly 85 mins were on the clock and we were pleading the ball to go in instead of insisting it did.
  22. Fair. Probably a better response than saying someone is wrong.
  23. Granted it was on target but in no way was it an overhit or challenging pass to deal with.
  24. Can we leave out the generalisations? Many teams in this league have young, hungry squads, a few of those have ripped us apart. The problem with rovers isn't the age of the players, it's the quality.
