  1. "Student eh? I blurdy well hope you know more about your studies that we are all subbing you for than you do about football" of course! you are all subbing me. shows what you know thenodrog. "This thread is becoming a breeding-ground for daft prejudices". spot on bryan. back to the thread - lets hope i'm wrong
  2. thanks den, a good objective stance. its not the pushing that i'm criticising savage for, its the manor in which he does it. and your spot on about duff and lampard - the chelsea fans were moaning about that.
  3. gbax, i have already politely asked we leave the b1tch1ng to the 3am girls. theres nothing wrong with free tickets when a student with crippling debts. i hope your opinion is correct when i "next visit Ewood to support Chelsea".
  4. streakyb, how do your tinted glasses view his sloppy passing and arguments with his own team mates? of course i have a pair too (even had a kevin davies fan club!), i just feel the "blonde boy" added little. as i ponted out before we signed him, both he and his team were in good form, so far he has failed to continue this in blue and white halves. if he continues there is the possibility of him upsetting the dressing room. he attempts to command too much control onthe pitch when IMO he is not capable, e.g. corners and freekicks - not convinced he's the best man for the job. there is nothing wrong with putting yourself about on the pitch but it has to be more effective. it was difficult not to chuckle with the celery throwers when he ran around 'like a headless chicken' shoulder-barging players that were not even in possession.
  5. indeed a rovers fan! just with a dislike for the "blonde boy" and an ear for an amusing chant, doesnt make me a chelsea fan. the thread questions whether savge is a footballer, discuss, dont diss the poster. so would anyone care to argue against my point, that savage had a bad game and was NOT money well spent? the MB is about airing thoughts, you dont have to agree with mine but i'd predfer you left your b1tch1ng to the 3am girls
  6. i was in the chelsea end last nite (mate had free tickets) and the anti-savage sentiment was (of course) rife, and i must confess that for the most part i agreed with them. he should have been off. he did not play football, he bullied. i know some posters admire this quality (and myself too, think keane, gerrard, viera, butt etc etc) but savage is a joker. i was dissapointed when we signed him, distraught at the price, and now ive seen him play in our shirt i have even less respect for him. true he was a nuisance but im not sure he is good for our cause. his strike was terrific but aside from that his passing was sloppy and he argued with/b0ll0cked his own players (neill and nelson infront of the chelsea fans and more in midfield that escape me). IMO that does not encourage or inspire. so what do we make of our new star man?? p.s. dickov's behavior towards the end was also a joke. he should have been off - hacked at terry whilst punching his ribs!! p.p.s. their chants are hilarious: celery CERLERY, if she dont come then tickle her bum with a lump of celery CELERY........ (sticks of celery being hurled around). anyway, all told not a disgraceful result against 'the champions'; mokoena and MGP very promising, just wish we bought a stiker instead of "the blonde boy in the middle".
  7. hope he does play. to leave him out would show we are resigned to losing him. i gota sneeky feelin he'll stay
  8. thats robbery with violence.
  9. come on jansen. his conduct in the situation has hardly been exemplary. in interviews and as a pundit he clearly come across an . but worst was his reaction to getting fouled in that wales game (opponents escape me). considering some of the challenges he makes it was an outrage. his relentless winging afterwards was pathetic. not a bad player, but certainly not one i want in blue&white halves.
  10. my point wasnt aimed at the resaon behind the difference in cost, rather that we are in real danger of being mugged by the birmingham city board of all people. im amazed the anti-savage camp is so small. yes he is industrious and effected, but he's also an ageing, expensive, people on this board are getting far too excited about the winging git. we forget that for the last few years he has been little more than average in the premiership. he is currently on very good form, arguably the best from of his career. also note birminghams recent form -> corralation. people werent shouting about savage when birmingham had failed to win for that 7 or 8 game spell. his team is playing well, and he is the heartbeat. simple as. he will fade. quickly. £3 MILLION POUNDS... ...think about it.
  11. Savage £3million Gravesen £2million if we sign that muppet we are jokers. not suggesting we could get Gravesen, just pointing out the price is £1million less and he is an infinately better player, and younger. pleqase god keep that tosser away from ewood.
  12. agreed adopted scouser. even at £2.7million i think were getting mugged.
  13. i appreciate your point darwen, but he got that reception because in a very short period of time he managed to transform us from a team that was in europe, with starlets such as duff, dunn et al, and mixed with experience such as berg's, to a team in a relegation dog fight. no mean feat!!! he oversaw a meteoric decline down at ewood, and the fact is it could have been avoided, under better management. don't get me wrong, we all appreciate what he did for us, but then he lost the plot, just look at newcastle for further evidence of this.
  14. gotta link ally?? also, cuidado, whats your take on our other frozen out (and proven) left winger? for all of everyones bitching about his weight, (and i'd like to know wher youv all seen him so close up to be judging his gut - cos its certainly not on the pitch), against sportin lisbon in pre-season he looked absolute class! maybe hughes hates left footers cos he still reckons they practice witchcraft.... would explain the mgp/todd illusion.
  15. it is ruddy annoyin tho! ...and largely resented ...and uneccessary ...and they should join a town band
  16. any insiders got info on the gally situation?? also, can someone inform me how many he's bagged for the reserves. ta la's
