I don't like this. Ferguson hasn't seemed the most motivated of players at the best of times - how's he supposed to start turning it on now? I'm not saying the club have any choice here, just that a miserable player is not what a team fighting relegation need.

the depressing thing is that you can buy 160 Paul Dickov's for one Drogba!!! come to think of it, 160 Paul Dickov's is a pretty scary image Great preview, basically the idea is we defend like our lives depend on it, hope that Chelsea are getting a bit of an Ego and hold out for 0-0. I think we can do it. They have such a large lead that if we can hold out for an hour then they won't want to risk anything silly by throwing people forward and I don't expect rovers to have more than 2 shots on goal in the whole match.

agreed, I don't believe the family thing for a minute. If his family is unhappy then it wouldn't be so urgent. They could go back to glasgow right now and he could join then in the summer. deep breath... ok, let's take the positives from this. 1. We were 1 terrible decision away from another clean sheet 2. Savage put in some great tackles and looks like he will do the business for us. 3. MPG and Thompson showed glimpses of imagination/talent 4. Mokoena looked impressive at the back with the pace we've been lacking. 5. Jemal Johnson looked lively Now we just need a striker! JJ needs a run in the team because he was the only forward last night who was prepared to play direct. Unfortunately I can't see Hughes playing him alongside Dickov so one of our gangly Donkeys wil continue to fall over/get caught offised/lose tha ball alongside him.

Supporting the team is priority number one but Ferguson needs to know he is out of order. If he just wanted a transfer we could auction him off for decent money by insiting on Rangers or bust he (and his agent) is not being loyal he's backing the club into a corner. If BF genuinely thought Rangers would come in with a decent bid then he should be speaking up now and re-commiting himself to Rovers.

I agree the booing of Shearer makes us look pretty stupid but this is very different. Ferguson hasn't just asked for a transfer he's demanded a transfer to just one club, one that he knows can't afford to repay the fee they got for him in the first place. He is wilfully trying to rip off the club (and therefore the paying fans) for millions of pounds. He deserves everything he gets

this is a lose lose situation. We can't play him when he doesn't want to be at the club and Rangers know they are in an auction of one club. We could sulk and put him in the reserves to the end of his contract but that just costs us more money. Either way the fans need to let Ferguson know what we think of him. He is the only one responsible for this mess and he is happily watching the club that gave him a chance in the big league get taken to the cleaners. If he plays tonight I will be furious...

not trying to be defensive. But can someone explain to me why Shearer's departure left such bad blood? The facts of the matter are pretty good (left for his home-town club, record fee etc). I was a poor student at the time he left so I wasn't going to many games - did he do or say something out of order?

of course Shearer is our greatest striker, but it is worth mentioning just HOW good he was when playing for us. He's done an incredible job at keeping up his scoring rate at Newcastle but at Rovers, before he did his Knee in he was simply the best player I have ever seen in the flesh. I saw him play a couple of games for us where he was our best defender, midfielder and goal-scorer all at once. Tackling back deep in midfield, claiming defensive headers at corners and slamming home goals. The guy was incredible. If anyone has ever won a Chamionship single handed it was him in '95. Of course it's a team game but just like Maradona in '86 he was a genius surrounded by honest, hard working proffessionals. Coupled with that he turned down United twice and only left us to go to his home-town club for a (then) enormous fee. What more can we ask?

the cantana rumour was that he had been dallying with another players wife and the squad had insisted he went. Not claiming to be the font of all knowledge but my old man is a sports journalist and my little bro works for the FA so you hear a lot of these rumours from the horses mouth. Harry Harris is one of the few who really knows what he's talking about. He got his first big break on the Mirror when he got hold of Robert Maxwell's personal home number and (that only about 3 people knew) asked him for a job. If Harry says there is more to it then there probably is, it would certainly make sense, who else believes the homesick stuff? We all know players can leave clubs for reasons that never come out, everyone has heard the rumours about why Cantona left Leeds so quickly, who knows if something like that has happened here?

the transfer system is deeply flawed and we're on the wrong end of it this time. Bottom line is we will sell him. The guy doesn't want to be here and he's just going to hang around like a very expensive bad smell ruining the team spirit. We need to get rid as soon as possible. Take the £3m and never deal with Murray again. Then scrap transfer fees between top-flight clubs.

I'm a bit confused. Have they offered 3m and writing off the 2.5m debt or is just 5ook cash? If its a 5m deal total, then I say god riddance
