  1. Stu, you seem hell bent on going to this match. If you do get a ticket your in for a 'unique' experience. I went back in the 80's to a Manx cup match with my Dad - Big Stevie - and even he was scared. I've never seen anything like it. Blokes wielding baseball bats, bricks through the train window............It's like planet of the apes ! thats interesting mr hair because not to long ago, on this very board somebody was telling me it was the Blackburn fans who used to regularly turn over the Burnley fans in the hey day of football hooliganism
  2. Of course I can - hence my post, just a little more banter Of course I don't recall any cases of Burnley fans appearing in court for racially abusing a player so not sure its kettles and pots exactly Bumley fans not racist? How popular were the BNP in Burnley? I think they got just a little more of the vote at the last general election than they did in Blackburn - but I'll have to check Still thats the BNP, we were talking about fans, inside the ground charged for abusing players (of course coupled with all those banana pictures on this thread)

  4. Rovers fans in the Burnley Stands? Oh the police will enjoy that one won't they. As for the ridiculous stereotypes - well what can you expect from a club with such racist fans
  5. I think we have established on clarets mad that you brought around 3000 to the turf whilst we brought around 7000 to your place.
  6. Where the hell do all your 'fans' usually hide then? Amazing how your support comes out of the woodwork when Rovers come to town !! ''ONLY COME TO SEE THE ROVERS''! agree simon - its bloody frustrating. Truth is they are not there to see either Burnley or the Rovers are they? 10,000 part timers who will no doubt be able to tell us how cr*p this player or that player is based upon their one visit per decade!!! Still we get the same effect when Liverpool/Man U come to town (though not for Villa, Spurs etc) Whichever way you dress it up though last time you only managed to sell around 1700 tickets I believe - which is pretty poor
  7. I thought Rovers fans just kept those for visiting Black players - or at least Yorke
  8. Tikcets will be £20.00 I imagine - thats what we pay. They may even be cheaper as I think the away fans have to get the same price as the cheapest home ticket, which would £18.00, unless they make it £20.00 throughout the ground as we will have no problem selling the home tickets.
  9. so you do expect to sell them all this time then?
  10. I thought we sold all we were allowed last time - maybe not though. Still, what a draw eh? Couldn't give a monkey's about the TV money (though we could obviously do with it) To be honest I'm only bothered because I want you to have to reset that 'days since we lost to Burnley' counter
  11. Not sure anybody is that confident at Burnley. Sure we are more solid than last time and I expect to give you a harder game than you had then but we are aware of the limitations of our squad size and the obvious ability of some of the players in yours. But its winnable, these things always are and I think it is fair to say we would feel we have more chance against yourselvs than Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal. More than that we had to wait 17 years last time and these events are special even played each year, let alone when we have such big gaps between them. Looking forward to a good day with an atmosphere that cannot be touched anywhere in world football. I really do hope you can sell all your tickets this time though
  12. actuallywe don't have to give 25% - that rule has some leeway based upon safety and segregation You will get the cricketfield stand (circa 4500). Very pleased with the draw - though of course will be less pleased if the last score line is repeated. Guarenteed 12 kick off and all leave cancelled for Lancashire Police
  13. or Br*t to refer to somebody British
  14. set of fans, i`m sorry, i only thought 1 person was involved in this. agreed - one fan amongst other BLACKBURN fans - so why bring us into it? We have our own problems to deal with and it does not help that each time anything remotely racist comes up in the media they seek to link it to Burnley - whether its the new Tory leader choosing it as a venue to launch some policies (no doubt his first and last visit) or the BNP choosing to unveil Msr LePen. I came on here really to say that whatever the differences between our 2 sets of fans I think we all know that these events are usually carried out by a tiny minority and that you were just unfortunate that it happened this week. When I get here I find people actually trying to blame another club, my club.
  15. send him to burnley? Why exactly - I don't recall we have had fans ejected for racism. Perhaps you should seriously consider how things are at your ground before you start slinging mud at ours - or perhaps it is easier for you to think of Burnley as the club of racists rather than face upto the fact you have some at your club? What was that delightful little song you produced at Ewood when we beat you 5-0? Not 'town full of pakis' by any chance was it in response to our 'town full of dingles to you'? There are far more racists at the turd then there will ever be at ewood. and still .......... there may be more racists at the turf, there may not. What is the case though is that this incident was down to one set of fans only - yours. Stop blaming others and take the blame. It seems the club were able and willing to act quickly - without pointing the finger of blame anywhere, least of all up the M65
  16. Are you sure ? If so, it sheds whole new light on this incident ! Could be Villa or Scunthorpe I suppose ? truly amazing. How desparate are you to blame anybody but yourselves? I actually came on here feeling a little sorry that the whole crowd had been branded for the sake of 1 (perhaps 2) idiots. Now as I see your desparate willingness to brand all Burnley racist thugs because somebody had a non rovers scarf on I think the sympathy is wasted. Why not check the percentage of the vote the BNP were getting in Blackburn before you start making these accusations. It was a game between BRFC and Birmingham - some Blackburn fans allegedly racially abused a Black Birmingham player - and you want to blame Burnley - priceless

  18. Chaplow is a very good box to box midfielder. He is still improving but expect him to leave for a good fee in the summer. Best in the country - thats would be one hell of a boast. He has been a late developer and has really added to his game at one hell of a rate. He is now looking physically bigger. I would say he is probably one of the best under 20 midfielders in the UK. Sinclair is one that has great games but at times he worries me - very susceptible to the ball over the top between him and the keeper (2 soft goals already plus 3/4 near misses from the same thing). Still at 'championship' level he is a very good defender - 1 goal away from home so far tells its own story. Compare that to last seasons and I guess we will be impressed with Sinclair.
  19. I'll have to find the article that came from and get back to you. And I like the odd spat with the crocodiles - it adds spice to your life. I mean the day Rovers and Burnley fans stop baiting each other it will be a cold day in hell.
  20. bob you had no success in the 80's for it to grate. Your later succes does not grate at all. The attitude to it of some does. Ike may have said it - but Ghandi said it first. And hey I agree our club has enjoyed a ride to hell and back - but were still here (just) without a sugar daddy. Finally Bob I said some on here - not all. Anyway see you next season - unless of course you get relegated
  21. Where were all football fans before uncle Jack? 15,000 at n'castle now 50,000, not at all - I actually think the Geordies are the worst of the lot. Lived up there and they were all 'loyal' fans. On waiting lists and the full deal. I used to ask them where they were pre John Hall. Now I could be wrong but I thought your championship season crowds were circa 28,000 whilst in the 99/00 season they were actually only around 19,500. If my figures are right thats a 30% drop - so no most of them haven't stayed. Whats more you and I know that if you spend more than a year or 2 in Div 1 your crowds will drop further. Its amazing this all started because I offered you Jensen - all be it a little tongue in cheek
  22. Our very own Jack Walker - I'd love it but they are very few and far between. Crowds pre orient were around 3000. Never mind your post walker crowds - where were you all before big jack? Neither club should be over proud of their attendances in those days. You mention the team of the 70's - that's really the issue isn;t it - that when the decline set in for mill towns we held out much longer than you - in fact our relative success in the 50's, 60's and 70's whilst you were hanging around in the lower leagues really grates doesn't it? Perhaps you cannot get over the fact that Burnley has always been regarded as a football town whilst you aren't? Never forget there is only one reason why you are where you are (and your league status is what brings on your 20000 not a deep love of the club - for gods sake some of you want to merge your club with Preston!!!!) and that is Jack Walker. Lets see how long you can hang on for without huge cash injections eh?
  23. winder away at least we felt able to support our team without someone pumping 100's of millions in - something only a few regulars at deadwood can say today
  24. I know a really good penalty stopper - he saved 2 in normal time and 2 (yep the one that hit the post I am convinced he got a hand to) in the shoot out. I am sure we will loan him to you if you want. In all fairness you cannot complain if the guys at position 8 miss a pen in the shoot out can you - going at number 8 you are hardly going to be a top penalty taker are you? Maybe you should loan us Stead so we can get him playing again like we did Andy Todd?
  25. Leeds/Bradford - two separate cities, one of whom independently went for the city of culture. Newcastle/gateshead do work together closely - then again they are separated by around 500 yards of Water as opposed to the 20 miles between Preston and Blackburn. But please feel free to persue this avenue - nothing would please me more than seeing the only way for you lot and PNE to survive is an unholy alliance - though of course home games would be played at deepdale, with it being the oldest pro sports ground in the world
