  1. Oh... and if what I've said above is right, he should apologise for his behaviour. If he feels strongly about the substitutions, he should take it up with the officials after the match.

He has already apologised Shaddy. Good call though, we don't need the Australian captain behaving in such a way.

  2. In fairnes Tris it is only Neekoy whining about the decisions.

I am not whining about the decsions, fair play to England for being the better team in the last couple of tests BUT I am simply saying that the decisions WERE incorrect, and having loked at the replay of the not out given when Flintoff was on 7 (or 8) when Warne trapped him plum in front has had consequences in this test.

If the English are happy with hollow victories then fine...

I guess after being on the end of hidings for so long they will take all they can get

  3. This is getting ridiculous, we have three umpire decsions that could possibly affect not only this match but now the entire series

First ball after lunch Jones is gone caught behind. England are then six down and we are into the tail end but instead they go on to make another 100 runs.

Ponting and Martyn are given LBW for big inside edges and now we are on the ropes. England are playing better but Australia must have smashed a mirror over a chinamans head before coming on tour

  4. I think there will possibly be three changes, Gillespie, Hayden and Katich out

I would like to see the Hussey boys and Tate in

I think that Ponting has shown what needs to be done. Settle and play a reserved game and build a bloody innings. I still think the English will falter when under some pressure. Other then the first test we haven't put them under any and it shows. I think the aussies have wrestled some momentum back and they will be a bit more dominant coming into the fourth.

  5. Everyone should lay off Geraint Jones.

Mate he is supposed to be of international standard, blind freddy could have taken the sitter behind the stumps. He didn't even have to move his gloves, the ball went in, then went out.

We have a new nickname for him Geraint 'cymbals' Jones (credit Dean Jones)

  6. My bowling line up for Lord's would be Lee, Kaspa, McKilla and SK. Gillespie has been dissapointing for 12 months now.

The standard of umpiring has been woeful, giving Peiterson out, NOT giving Peiterson out, the numerous LBW decisions against Warne, Lee's lbw appeal in the second innings against Jones when he was plum inline with middlestump, the dodgy lbw's against Langer and Gillespie in the first innings, Martyn getting away with being caught behind on a nick I heard in Australia.

  7. pg, I guess I need to remind you that it is the first day of a five day test.

Why would the decision to send England in to bat haunt Ponting? He bowled them out in three sessions. It now gives the Aussies a chance to settle over two and a half days and pump 600+ on the board then bowl the English out again with a day and a half to play and maybe have to chase a small total.

If Australia had batted first we would have put 600 on and the English would have played for a draw.

Lee has nothing to bowl on at the moment, wait until Englands second innning when they are chasing 250 on a detiorating wicket with uneven bounce.

  8. Although a great day of cricket for the spectators ( I finally got to bed about 2 in the morning then up at 6) England must surely be dissapointed in not making 500+ on a wicket that you could put a baby to sleep on, getting all bowled out again, getting bowled out in 3 sessions, the continuing failure of the flat track bully Trescothick to STILL not make a 100 against Australia and Peitersons inability to settle when he needed a show a solid TEST MATCH innings. But on a positive 400 in one day is a very good batting effort, and we still got everyone without McGrath.

The funniest things I heard were from Boycott

    1. how he couldn't understand how the English were playing like this, I suppose he wanted you guys to block it out for the draw and

    2. Plan A (bowling across his body) wasn't working against Trescothick then two balls later he dashed outside

  9. Your poor buggers must be so frustrated, here you had a chance to really tighten the screws after a great bowling performance , punch on 550 and send Australia in for two days.

It is not McGrath we have to thank, it is the English teams ability to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory.

  10. I am not a fan of these new rules, as the old saying goes it's just not cricket.

Even though Australia won I am still dissapointed with these new rules that gave England a lifeline. What is wrong with a crushing defeat these days?
