  1. Some bloke: Is it a bird?

    Crowd: No!

Some bloke: Is it a plane?

    Crowd: No!

    Crowd: IT'S KUQI!!!

Ha ha. A bit of a spin on the famous Superman quote. It would be hilarious if that was ever used.

  2. CAnt decide when to drag my eldest.  Hes just 4 now.  Syas he hates football!!!

Don't worry. He's still very young and 90 minutes of football is too draining at that age, plus he wouldn't be able to comprehend football very much anyway. Give him three years and drag him to watch the Rovers, no matter what. Once he goes he will probably love it, especially if his first game is a Rovers win and he sees everyone around him celebrating and really happy. He'll want to be part of that. thumbs-up.gif

  3. Thanks blue blood for articulating those thoughts.

Yes, I'm concerned about the start to this season, yes I saw how Wales stagnated and fear we are seeing a repeat at the Rovers, but deep down I think we are OK and in good hands.

    -Emphasis added.

Today Sparky showed us that he is not a one-trick man and is actually capable changing our tactics to successfully exploit opportunities (i.e. in this situation he took advantage of a weakened defence, judging by the names missing: Neville and Heinze).

EDIT: By the way, check out Colin's comments, fresh from Old Trafford (emphasis added):

MGP's goal was fairly good, but if I was a United supporter I'd be furious about the defending. A free kick from near the RHS touchline which he curled in.

    ...

Then MGP shut them up for good. I can't describe it too well as it was at the other end. It looked like the United defence went to sleep a bit and the ball fell to MGP on the corner of the goal area and he thrashed it high into the top left hand corner.

  4. the 4-4-2 wasnt responsible for the win, agreed, but it gave us a more attackin option today and it worked, rather than 4-5-1 for the stalemate draw,by the way the previous games were we have not favoured well with the 4-4-2 is that theres been some of the games at ot were we have been blatently robbed

A stroke of genius, agreed, especially with Neville and Heinze out which weakened their defence considerably, making more emphasis on attack a good option.

    Some stats...

  5. What @#/?.

FFS. All I was saying is that the 4-4-2 isn't responsible for the win. What has the 4-4-2 got us at Old Trafford in the last 60 years or however many times and years the 4-4-2 has been used there?

United were the ones lucky to avoid a whipping, we should have been three up at half time.

Aye. Did you not notice that I said "on another day", and not today?

  6. 1-0 to Rovers. Bellamy to continue his sublime form.

The 4-4-2 for a match like this can make some sense if you look at United's defence at the moment, with Neville and Heinze out.

Would rather a 5-4-1 with Jansen playing as the lone striker (we need skill, not brute Kuqi force against United... he'll be knocking the ball all over the place and they'll just absorb that) with Bellamy playing a supporting/winger role.

  7. If it's meant to be a direct comparison then we've also been FA Charity Shield Runners-up and entrants into the Champions League and UEFA Cup, categories you awarded to Newcastle but not ourselves  wink.gif

Also, have a look at how he set out the design of the two listings, in which he purposely set it out differently and put more information to make it look more impressive than it really is.

For example, take the FA Cup winners comparison.

    For Newcastle:

    FA Cup Winners

1910v Barnsley, Crystal Palace & Goodison Park

    1924v Aston Villa, Wembley Stadium

    1932v Arsenal, Wembley Stadium

    1951v Blackpool, Wembley Stadium

    1952v Arsenal, Wembley Stadium

    1955v Manchester City

    For Rovers:

    FA Cup:

    Winners: 1884, 1885, 1886, 1890, 1891, 1928

There are six FA Cup wins for each, but clearly the Newcastle wins have been listed vertically to make the list look much bigger than that of Rovers, while he has also included a listing of the clubs that lost in Newcastle's case.

It's a clear deception, which demonstrates that Paddyk's grandstanding is bankrupt.

  8. Savage is OK with me and will only ever produce positive comments from me. However (yes, but, there is one exception), he should try shutting his mouth a bit and get on with it. It positively makes my blood boil to see Dickov looking at the referee more than he does the ball and his team mates. Sav should concentrate on his game a bit more because I haven't really seen the influential player he was at Birmingham, where he contributed as much to attack as he did to defence.

  9. I wonder if anyone picked up the foul in the box in the 15th minute on Reid? The commentators, much to my surprise, also picked up on it. Reid was shepherded away from a through-ball by a Bolton defender. A clear penalty.

The card for Matteo was also ###### poor. No way was that anywhere near a card, and there were a whole lot of worse challenges that went unpunished.

  10. Emerton- i always knew that with better players he would play well. And when Kuqi and Bently(who looked classy) came on, Emerton also improved. Because up to that point-he was woeful

To be fair to Emerton, he saw next to nothing of the ball until then because all of the play went through Morten Gamst Pedersen. It's a bit hard to actually do anything when the ball is not being channelled through you.

Also, I don't understand this swapping wingers business. Keep MGP on the left and Emerton on the right, especially so he can help bring more out of Lucas Neill.
