  1. the press-box at Ewood is the area behind where the directors sit

Bugger, that's that idea gone for a burton.

Not if the chant makes it clear who the hate is being directed to.

I would abgsolutely love it if they got a bit of a spray.

  2. It would have been more productive to have had a go, footballing wise, and got hammered than to earn the despise of the nation which appears to be the result.

Play with tactics that would see us with more of a chance of losing?

    No thanks.

Losing might be acceptable at Burnley, but we at Blackburn have dignity and pride, and do not swallow defeat very well, unlike your lot who tolerate losing.

  3. Hughes hits back:

However, Blackburn boss Mark Hughes immediately hit back, claiming Arsenal were guilty of time-wasting and that Patrick Vieira must "be a bit more robust".

When told of Wenger's obvious frustration on the touchline, he insisted: "Because of the way we try to compete? I don't think we need to be criticised for that.

"We had a game-plan to try to compete and that's what we did. If you want to criticise us for our approach, then you will do. Maybe he was just upset by Arsenal's time-wasting."

As for Vieira, Hughes added: "He is a big player and a big man. At times, he has to expect that people will compete against him. Maybe he has to be a bit more robust to resist tackles."

  4. How dare we attempt to win a trophy?

How dare we not roll over and die so that a big club can win another trophy?

That's the sort of negative coverage Greece received after winning Euro 2004 (excluding the "dirty" jibe). For some odd reason, if you're not a big team, you don't deserve to win, which is odd. You would think that people would stick up for the underdogs.

  5. You want to try listening to the overseas commentary I had to endure. Gary Bloom was his name I am sure he was sat there in an Arsenal top calling for rovers players to be sent off, continually knocking the way we play and making derisory comments about the fact that we couldn't sell our allocation. At one point he said the cynics amongst us think that should they get to the final blackburn wouldn't sell their allocation. He also said that blackburn have only come to stop arsenal playing their magnificent football. Who is this guy ? I wanted to rip his head off.

Did any other US based rovers fans feel the same way ? or was it just me.

I think that was the commentator we got down here.

Needless to say, it really did make the game seem like it went for a long time, because I in no way enjoyed it.

  6. Over all the Rovers were magnificent- some brilliant tackles and distribution. I disagree with anyone knocking Matteo or Neill but MGP did his little boy lost routine again in the second half.

Andy Todd will get banned and you will all agree it is totally deserved when you see the behind goal replay. Nasty vicious short right arm jab. The headlines for Rovers will be about us being brutish thugs because of that stupidity. Still a last hooray for Short or a chance for Amo to show how he has benefitted from proper coaching- if he can concentrate he is a much better footballer than Todd anyway.

I have to agree with this analysis (apart from the harsh analysis of MGP):

    1. Neill and Matteo have become undeserving scapegoats. The lengths that some go to bag them is beyond belief sometimes.

    2. Andy Todd was disappointing, and I do believe he intended it to release some frustration. Afterwards he looked very disappointed and I think he knows how much he let the club down.

  7. i don't know why everone is being so pessimistic!!

No matter who we play, people always seem to want to churn out negative predictions.

Last week it was a win for Manchester United, and this week Southampton is going to beat us.

Anyway, does anyone know if there is a radio broadcast for the match for anyone outside the UK?

The Radio Rovers one won't be free, I presume, it being a home match, and Five Live cannot be accessed from outside the UK during matches (although I have not checked whether we are being broadcast by BBC tonight anyway).

  8. "I'm really enjoying it and if I got asked to sign another extension I would," said Lucas Neill.

Check the last paragraph of this article.

EDIT: It is hardly big news, but it seems he is not very interested in a Newcastle move if he can stay at Blackburn, which might suggest that Souness is not a very attractive management option.
