Enjoy. Finally I can play the game because I haven't touched it until it now, waiting for the game to be fixed and properly updated.

  2. One of Milan, Manchester, or West Ham will surely let you down in my opinion, but I put $1 (I've got few smaller accumulators going at the moment) for a return of just over $22 for a kick. Five is a good amount in my opinion. More is just being silly. :)

Rovers let me down last night by losing in a small single bet. Serves me right.

  3. An ambitious club also needs players who can adapt to different systems and circumstances. Mokoena helps us to do that. He's a useful squad player, I can understand why Hughes wants to keep him, and I'm sure he'll prove his worth in the future.

That is the very definition of Guus Hiddink's "modern player". A player who is versatile, adaptable, and useful. His squad at the last World Cup was full of them.

Who knows what he'll be able to do in the future.

Just how many would have sold Emerton instead of renewing his contract in the summer? :o

  4. 2 and 3 all the way.

can we vote for a new sponsor please! ;)

It's fugly. Why do clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United get sponsors which fit in seemlessly with their shirt design? Hell, I would even like the rectangle AMD Processors or HSA sponsors back. The current one looks way out of whack. I hope it is changed next season.

Anyway, I dislike the first home shirt. The red at the top looks tacky. It's hard to choose because I don't really like the funny things they are trying to do with the curvy designs these days, but number two just gets the nod.

I like the red and black halves a lot, but I have to choose number one because I love the black and sky blue combination. It looks really pleasing on the eye and it may well be one of our best away shirts for me. I'm not a fan of orange, but I'm not set against it. It would be good to have it in honour of Ooijer, as someone said above.

    To reiterate: 2 & 1.

  5. I think the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in 2004/2005 has to rate up there with one of the results that I would change. It's one of two matches that season (including the Arsenal semi-final) that saw us dragged through the mud for being a dirty team.

I just wonder whether things wouldn't be so bad with the media and the football world in general if we had won that day. The focus would probably have been more on how Chelsea and Mourinho were sore losers and perhaps things wouldn't be going so bad with the referees today, who are no doubt a bit more willing to not give us the benefit of the doubt.

It also would have put a huge dent in the Chelsea psyche as well and it would have had possibly huge ramifications on Chelsea's future successes. Mourinho saw the victory as passing some sort of special Premiership fitness test.

Now that I've written that, I'm starting to think that those who name the Arsenal match would be hitting it right on the money. The FA Cup final is one of the most famous and well-known football events in the world and, apart from the Champions League final, no other cup competition is telecast live in Australia. It is certainly given a lot of hype and analysis on the broadcast too.

The instant worldwide recognition that the club would receive just by participating in the FA Cup final would be hugely beneficial to its reputation and worldwide supporter base and beneficial to the bottom line these days: in terms of finance.

But I have to pick one, so it would be the Chelsea result I would change. We weren't ready for an FA Cup final that season, really, and would probably only be making up the numbers. We might not be swimming in goals at the moment, but not so long ago we looked almost completely toothless up front and very rarely looked like scoring anything.
