  1. You can't really fault Ipswich's record in competitive football matches, 1 narrow defeat to Leeds in around 30 games?!

Very, very hard to see us getting anything here I'm afraid - unless of course everything clicks into place and we convert a few early chances.  I mean its surely going to happen sooner or later right?

I think its time for Leo to start in goal but I still expect JDT to ask him to prove his worth vs Cardiff in the cup first.

Hopefully Siggy gets the last 30 mins, but again he might need to put a shift in Vs Cardiff first.

I'm gonna go for a perhaps slightly ambitions 1-1 draw.  Early goal for Moran cancelled out with a late, late Hirst equaliser......

Genuine question - is our style of play burning us out by half time?

In the last 4 games we've had more expected goals in the 2nd half once - compared to the opposition having more expected goals in the second half in all 4 games.

The plan as I see it, is to fly out the traps like mad men, get a few goals then reduce the tempo.

    However.

When the goals don't come we have an issue!  Obviously can't maintain that tempo for 90 minutes, I don't believe we ever plan to though.

JDT and the team need to learn how to adapt and adjust the game plan if the goals don't come in the first 30.

When we lost games early last season we were dreadful, utterly dreadful.  So much so I wasn't sure JDT was the one.  In the games we've lost this season I don't think we've even been that bad at all for the most part.  Also believe we'll give someone an absolute pumping in a game when we're a little more fortunate in front of goal.

I don't know where the idea has come from that the weather is going to be terrible at Ewood tonight. There has certainly been a lot of rain and there is likely to be some more this afternoon but by 6pm the Met Office is forecasting sunshine with a 40% chance of a little light rain during the game.

I'm amazed people still trust the Met office to get the weather bang on.......

He'll be off as soon as a better club comes along - it won't be long

He was as good as gone if Slot had left Feyenoord by all accounts.  Judging by how they're playing at the moment (17 goals scored in their last 3 in the league!) - I imagine he'll be getting more attention soon.  He swerved Spurs but more lucrative jobs will arrive I bet......

I thought he did ok. New team in a new country, getting used to a much higher standard than what he's used to. If Szmodics had scored the one on one then we'd all be praising him for a brilliant assist to set Sammie up as it was a genuinely great ball. I think he showed some good touches and good instinctive movements when we were in possession.

When Rovers didn't have the ball he looked a bit lost, you could see Sammie was trying to guide him and give instructions. Coming on for the last 30 mins or so of what was a pretty chaotic match can't have been easy to get up to the pace of the game.

As he's a permanent signing I think we have to really back the kid and give him our support. Physically he looks like he could be a real nuisance for defenders at this level, but time will tell whether he fits with JDT's style of play.

Yep we need to stick with him and make sure he gets the minutes, there's going to be some frustrations I'm afraid, just hope people don't get on his back if he misses a chance or 2. Young lad, new country, new league and ultimately quite a unique style of play under JDT. It was probably a bit of an eye opener yesterday as it was such a close game. Ideally we would have been 5 nil up for his debut!

He looks a unit for sure, let's hope he proves to be a handful for opposition defences 👍

In all what time? He had a history of injury at Plymouth which saw him play less than half of the minutes last season and he had a bad injury the season prior, their fans warned us he is subject to injury issues and that is what we have found here with 2 issues already.

He is a good player but throughout there were huge gaps between our midfield and defence.

His issues here have been with fitness. I'm not gonna keep waffling on about it but nothing has suggested in his time at Rovers that he's made of glass like you say. Judge him on his time here not his alleged injuries somewhere else.

Because he has a history of injury issues that Plymouth fans warned us about (along with praising him in terms of quality) and he will have spent basically the first quarter of the season in the treatment room.

We can only hope, but his start here doesnt bode well. The alcohol etc stuff is just hearsay.

He has not been injured in all that time, not sure why people are not grasping it. His I jury that he does actually have now was inflicted in a game and when you see the incident, unsurprising.

Szmodics is a good example of why rushing to judgement of players is not a good idea. This time last year there were many on here who were saying that we had had our trousers pulled down by Peterborough in signing him; now he is our talisman. Players should be given a fair chance to show their worth.

Szmodics development gives me hope for Ennis. When he trapped from posh he was absolutely nowhere near the athlete he is now, although he did look burnt out when he came off. Seems a likeable chap in the dressing room too, definitely a tick for GB on this one.

  9. Enjoyed it, bit nervy at the end like but we survived.

Might just be me but we're far more enjoyable to watch this season, not quite Keegan-esque but it's better than last season when we created 3 chances a game at this stage (granted we seemed more clinical then).

I'm calling it now, Carter will be our next biggish money sale, he's improved so much and motm for me today. Under the guidance of Ayala and Hyam I guess.

Dolan on the other hand has taken bulking up too far and is looking a shadow of the player that burst onto the scene.

Finally, time to start docking wages of these officials, absolutely appalling.

Does this not suggest a lack of fitness as opposed to being injured? Something that JDT commented on when he first arrived. He was also playing in a one up front system alongside the best striker in the division so would explain his lack of mins too?

from what I have seen he will be a good signing- let’s not call him injury prone after 7 games of the season (that’s not me quoting you)

We definitely can't call him injury prone yet, as for as I know he's only had 1 actual injury which is the current one. Prior to that the issue was fitness, or terrible lack of. From what I've seen there's still work to be done there too if he's going to fit into this team. Fans are (understandably) showing frustration now, he's been here for months and we've barely seen him, it's disappointing. With a limited budget and lack of goals we most certainly have no room for passengers. Fingers crossed he's back playing soon.....
