  1. http://Robson Backs Bellamy over Souness Some of the things Robson had to say about Bellamy "he was one of the quickest players in the Premiership. " "I'm talking about (Michael) Owen's pace and (Thierry) Henry's pace - he had that pace. How many players are there available that you can get like that? Not too many. Blackburn have got a very good player."
  2. Well even now, its tolerable considering we dont have anyone in the mould of Roy Keane, Lee Bowyer, or Repka. Thats one of the reasosns i wouldnt want Bowyer here. Between Signing and not signing him is the fine line that will separate us from being real bad boys to a neutral. Of course the Mirror, Brum, and the ones who hate us for being 1995 champs will hate us regardless.
  3. I always had a soft spot for West Ham after they stood up to Man U in 1995, and didnt roll over On the other hand, their "we belong to the premiership because we are big" attitude is very similar to Birmingham or Saints, and as much annoying.
  4. Anyone else felt that was a dive by Gerrard?
  5. 2-1 Rovers, Keane to open the scoring and then injure himself after his legs get all tangled up with the approaching Kanoute's arms during his traditional cartwheel. Rovers equalise through a penalty by Pedersen, And Stead scores the winner late in the game. Martin Jol bans all goal celebrations next season leading to all of Spurs strikers getting transfers, infuriated at the ban. Rovers land Keane, and next season, all his goals see a cartwheel done followed by a kick up his a** by Savage. That should compensate for all the relatively sterile celebrations we have seen over the years.
  6. A 2-1 win for us with Stead & Reid scoring. On another note, Joe Cole was on EuroSports saying somethign to the tune of , "it would be great to witn the league, only 3 teams have ever how the Premiership", at least he remembered that we won it Enjoy these hours/days lads, before "only 3 teams" becomes "only 4 teams"!
  7. Is there a way we can to know Lawrenso's prediction for all our games so far? Not that I am dying to know, but so that I can just have a little laugh at his "predictions". I think he had us losing 8 out of the last 10 games or sumthing
  8. According to soccernet.com, http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=155132&cc=3888 1)City had a perfectly good penaly appeal turn down 2)Our main aim was to break their passing game while they were much more attacking, What did those who saw the game think? The usual soccernet crap, or was SWP actually fouled...? Come to think of it, Matteo has done well against the 2 of the fastest wingers in the league in recent weeks I doubt Nissa would have done as good as Matteo
  9. Apparently the FA clearing Todd hasnt had any effect on soccernet.com, Fresh comments have sprung up today, "The most fouls committed by any Premiership team" which I believe wasnt Blackburn, rather Villa "If he didn't mean or intend to foul him, how is it that his elbow is up? No one, save a girl, runs like that. " http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=331309&cc=3888 If Todd wants to sue anyone we be behind him all the way !
  10. For positive press we will have to do a Crystal Palace or Norwich. i.e. concede 3 goals in the first half-hour and take the rest of the match to recover. The media somehow doesnt like a 'smalltown' club trying to win against their darlings. Maybe it was winning the premiership, but we have ambitions few clubs of our size have. Most clubs our size would be more than happy with an FA cup semi appearance. But not us, we were looking to win the whole thing. As I said winning the title and the League cup has raised our expectations beyond that of the average Norwich or Southampton fan. We have won more in the past 10 years than Spurs or Newcastle, but that disturbs the strict imaginary hierarchy the media caters to.
  11. You want to try listening to the overseas commentary I had to endure. Gary Bloom was his name I am sure he was sat there in an Arsenal top calling for rovers players to be sent off, continually knocking the way we play and making derisory comments about the fact that we couldn't sell our allocation. At one point he said the cynics amongst us think that should they get to the final blackburn wouldn't sell their allocation. He also said that blackburn have only come to stop arsenal playing their magnificent football. Who is this guy ? I wanted to rip his head off. Did any other US based rovers fans feel the same way ? or was it just me. Here in the UAE, the commentator was on about how Todd doesnt deserve to be wear the captain's armband, and how great Arsenal and Manchester United are. I wouldn't have been surprised if he called for Blackburn to be banned for attempting to defend their goal against Arsenal....
  12. wow.... ANOTHER texan welcome. that makes what? 5 texans? Good to know there are other Texan Rover fans around. I'm actually originally from Dallas. Alas, the only decent player my HS ever produced had to go and sign with Man Ure. *sigh* All I know is I've got my venue, my cable, and a good stock of Shiner Bock for tomorrow's game. Go Rovers! Are you a Longhorn? I graduated from UT, loved Austin! Never seemed to find any Blackburn fans there, apart from some admirers of Friedel.
  13. Hello everyone ! Finally registered on this board after many days browsing through all the posts. Considering the scarcity of Blackburn fans in my city compared to Man u & Arsenal, it feels gr8 to be in a board where everyone is a Blackburn fan, apart from the odd Dingle here & there. I'm 3000 miles away from Cardiff, in The Gulf to be precise, but hopefully they will be showing it on some channel here. I've been supporting Rovers since 1993 when I was a 10 year old, more details on how I fell for them after Cardiff. For now, heres hoping for a Blackburn victory against the French Olympic diving squad.
