  1. Clear handball by Keane, but we cant complain after the "Hand of Ped" Pongolle gets oen back!!!1 gr8 work by bellamy on the right
  2. Its a blessing in disguise that Reid and Savage are starting in the center, we need their energy away from home Btw, i have this feeling that its been a long time since a referee screwed us over at an away match. Be prepared for something today then.....
  3. Bolton are currently winning 2-1 aganst Fulham Apart from the WBA and Everton defeats i'm afraid we may regret our inability to beat 10 man Notlob at home, that would have given us some breathing space. As it stands now they are 1 point behind with 2 games in hand.
  4. Who was voted MOTM today? I seem to have missed the announcement during the match. IMO it should be Tugay for his passing as well as a number of crucial tackles , or maybe Todd for keeping Henry quiet
  5. You know what i really liked about this match? That we beat Arsenal by playing Football, not by fouling and hacking them down. In fact they had as many bad fouls as we did, wonder what Whinger will say now ?
  6. Excellent stuff, however Arsenal had 3-4 decent chances in the 2nd half. Fabregas penalty chance was 50-50, could easily have been a penalty. The Table makes for great reading now, Small town Rovers 5th in the EPL!
  7. Ref's decision not to give a foul for Diaby's challenge was shocking. Savage's header back to Friedel was hilarious!
  8. Not sure whether Zurab is injured, but if not, shouldnt he have started instead of Todd? His extra pace would have been useful. Also its a relief to see RVP not being in their 16!
  9. It was similar to Terry's "foul" on Messi. Some here pointed out that Messi saw Terry coming and didnt move away just to get clattered. In 2002, Owen leaves his left leg trailing , catches Pocchetino's leg and falls over. At OT, Rooney did the same thing with Campbell last season. The point is that unfortunately every team has at least a player or 2 who cheat, so its unfair when people label a whole team as cheaters while conveniently ignoring/supporting cheating by their own players/teams
  10. Well, didnt Pedersen & Savage resort to "distasteful acts" with their handballs and diving? And didnt England beat Arentina in 2002 courtesy of a Owen dive? Or is it distasteful just when its them dirty Latinos?
  11. The foul may not have been a red card by itself. However: 1) Messis was kicked in the thighs by Del Horno 5 minutes back which should have been a yellow 2) Barcelona were denied a 100% penalty when Terry bundled Messi to the ground 3)Geremi's handball could very nearly have been a penalty as well
  12. Yea sure, as long as its a Liverpool player.... Sarcasm aside, i havent seen many players who can hit the ball harder than Riise or Hamann. Tarnat of Man City also had a monster shot, while our Reid is no spring chicken either
  13. I wish Smith all the best and my sympathies are with him. However, IMO his 2-footed tackle at Ewood in the semi final could very easily have caused Savage or Nelsen a similarly horrendous injury. I felt from the replays that he didnt go for the ball; he just wanted to injure Savage...
  14. Tugay plays more like a quarterback in American football than like a creative midfielder in the "hole".
  15. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=358947&cc=4716 Juventus coach Fabio Capello has been offered the England job, according to reports in Italy. The Corriere dello Sport have revealed that Capello has been offered a four-year contract believed to be worth around £19million from the FA to take over from Sven Goran Eriksson after the World Cup. The Juventus boss, who looks favourite to win the Serie A title this season, is contracted at the Stadio Olympico until 2007 but his future at the club has been put in doubt recently. Juventus' chief operating officer, Antonio Giraudo hinted this week that the Bianconeri are on the lookout for Capello's successor with Roma trainer Luciano Spalletti the prime target.
  16. A lot of teams lost at the Hawthorns this season ,Arsenal ,Spurs (2-0) and Man City (2-0). I dotn think its such a catastrophe yet. WH are winning though while Wigans late equalizer means Bolton doesnt go more than a point ahead
  17. And ManU fans call Arsene a Whinger...... RFW's whining is not very surprising, however whats deplorable is that the media is picking up his words and regurgitating the same old "Bully Boys" rubbish. according to Ferguson, only failed to retrieve a 4-1 deficit because "Blackburn just cleared the ball into the corners and we lost a lot of energy having to go back and rebuild all the time" Yea, and we all know Man U didnt waste any time after leading Chelsea 1-0 at OT......
  18. I cant understand why Newcastle are so thick as to not blame Shepherd for this fiasco. Why on earth did they fire Robson? The Toon Army is a collective joke
  19. Btw, I think i missed his prediction for the Manure game
  20. Delusions like these are exactly what makes Toon fans so unhappy. They are stuck in a world where they win every other cup on account of their 50000 "crazy Geordies". And when clubs like Rovers constantly earn more success than them, they just cant stomach it. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=357271&cc=4716 Former Newcastle striker Mick Quinn insisted Graeme Souness could have no complaints or excuses after being sacked as the Magpies' manager. 'I think they're going to need someone alongside Alan. Martin O'Neill would be my first choice. Newcastle would be cherry ripe for Martin O'Neill.' 'Newcastle is a bigger job than England.' 'They're desperate for success - and the sooner the better.' 'They have got time there. There's not a great rush. You have got guys there who can steady the ship. There's enough quality in that squad to push them up the league rapidly. 'It's a massive club. It needs to get its pride back in place. Everything's set up for it to be a top club - they just need to start performing on the pitch.'
  21. The irony of it all Souness walks out on us only to be fired .....
  22. 25000 it shall be then But is Pongolle eligible for tomorrow?
  23. That was priceless . Can you do this every week?
  24. No you are not i mentioned it 2 posts earlier! anyways, nothing will come of any complaint whatsoever, because the referee "saw the incident" and decided that Man Utd deserve the fair end of the stick every time. I am just waiting for the FA to charge Savage ......
