  1. Think you're a bit negative there, Rev. The first half wasn't too bad, the passing and especially the combinations between the wings and the full backs were good.

    Agreed.

There was a lot of slick football in the first half that had dirty Leeds chasing shadows and they managed to step it up when Bellamy came on.

No doubt Rev expects his Mondeo to go like a Ferrari biggrin.gif

  2. Thought Douglas was a bit silly in having a go at Tugay and then when Bellamy had a word he had a go at him!

I noticed that Douglas was giving Tugay an elbow at every opportunity and then clattering Sav, seemed like he was out to try and hurt someone, doesn't he realise he has to come back to the club.

Great performance though, we made Leeds look very, very ordinary.

I'll even hold my hands up and admit Emerton had a storming game, second half especially, so much so that I thought we'd sneaked a new signing on biggrin.gif

  3. What's wrong with being offensive?

Players say far worse to each other during the course of a game.

Some cricketers are famed for their sledging ( as it is known in that sport ), it's all part of the game and is done to wind up the opposition. Sometimes it works ( I remember Beckham being subbed at half time at Ewood after giving the BBE two fingers ), sometimes it doesn't.

So for those people that are so upset by offensive chants ( don't forget, what's offensive to one person, may not be to another ) you can always move seats, stands or sport. smile.gif

  4. Seems to me that it's not just the players who've gone soft.

I wonder how long it will be before it will be a criminal offence to hurt someones feelings.

Jesus, there would have been uproar if they'd included the word ' black ' somewhere.

Get a grip, life's cruel. It's time you lot learned the rhyme ' Sticks and stones '

  5. Spot on Bazza.

Cruyff and Platini both said in the late seventies that football should be a non contact sport.

Instead of starting up a new game that was actually non contact, they both went about trying to change the game we loved. Due to their profiles and positions within the sports ruling bodies they have virtually achieved this now.

Anyone who tries to tell me either of these two were footballing greats gets a right tongue lashing.
