  1. Yes. East Lancs does have a large 'ethnic' population. Maybe the club should offer them tickets at exactly the same price as everyone else. 323715[/snapback] To have a first team player/players from one or more of our ethnic populations would probably add thousands to the gate
  2. We need a ' Pay at the turnstile ' option. How many people wake up on a saturday morning and think ' I fancy going to a match today '. But can't, because of the need to buy a ticket in advance. I used to have mates that came to games every now and then, but have never been since tickets were introduced. Even if they were prepared to buy a ticket, they couldn't sit near me. I'm sure many thousand of potential floaters just never bother now, just as I never bother going watching anyone else, unlike days gone by.
  3. Do they cheat like a lot of premier league players? Do they try and bleed clubs and fans dry to top up their supercar collections? They certainly look a lot better, I might give them a chance and watch a match.
  4. Just as I thought, lots of gripes. Then why is the game booming? I'm in agreement with most, I think I'm only putting up with it through loyalty, but greedy footballers earning a lottery win every year is putting a strain on it, when you read about their off field antics and constantly seeking greener grass. I went to watch some park football the other week, what a refreshing change. Football as it used to be. No cheating and diving, honest passion. OK, not very skillful but very enjoyable and they were playing for fun, afterall it is a game. I just can't see pro football lasting another 125 years the way it's going, in fact I may even out live it.
  5. What changes do you like or hate about the game now, that differ from the days when you played or started watching. My pet hate at the moment :- A player putting a hand on an opponent usually results in a free kick. I mean touching, not pushing ( unless it's by a defender in the area, where a totally different set of rules seem to apply ). I know players falling over at the slightest touch doesn't help, but if refs keep giving free kicks, it will only get worse. I fear the day footy becomes as fake as the WWC/WWF.
  6. Got two renewal packs this morning. Trouble is, I should have got three. Rovers never make anything straightforward do they?
  7. You mean you want to re-live last season.
  8. Liverpool - Champions of Europe. This is something I'm finding hard to get my head around. So they won a cup, but there are four better teams in England. Just goes to show, the experts are right when they say you need luck to win a cup. One thing for sure though, that was one hell of a comeback.
  9. I feel the same and wll also get my usual 3 ST's for next season, but only because the kids want to go and a sense of loyalty. Still, a couple of good signings this summer could make all the diference. As an afterthought :- Remember when Sky first started pumping money into the game, the talk was, everyone would be watching games on TV and the grounds would be half empty. This didn't matter, the press told us, stadium gates would be flung open, entry for some games could even be free, to create a good atmosphere for the TV audience. Hell, gate money just didn't account for much. What happened? Players got greedy and the clubs got weaker. Now, not even all Sky's cash is enough, the players want you to dig deeper! ( Premier league players in general ) ( some haven't got a supercar for each day of the week yet ) I've almost reached my limit and I'm sure many stayaway fans are well past it. And while I'm having a moan, the cheats are almost driving me away from football ( Diouf makes my blood boil ), but that's another topic. Loyal and skint. Aggyblue.
