Hughes wants a bumper crowd.

I was sitting in front of Tugay's mates and some WAG type girls, who, when told to "get your t*ts out for the lads" responded with "get your a*se out for the gays!" Which is a witty retort to such a bunch of neanderthals.
good on the WAGS!
these idiots are an embarrasment. it's happening at every away game now. i'm expecting more of the same at villa on sunday.

stick to your guns, fife and dont give into them.
as the great julie andrews said :- Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.
-
Consequently, West Ham was quiet cos there weren't many singing (and the usual suspects were being picked off one by one by the old bill for singing £2 an hour).
even allowing for the fact that they've no jobs/ responsibilities, i'd like to think they'd learn!

Lack of a creditable opposition. They can basically say what they want and do as they want because they dominate football coverage in this country. When you hear what they charge the BBC and other stations just to show clips from games they cover you realise the ridiculous situation that has been allowed to develop in this country. We need a more level playing field and more competition then we might just get a better, less biased coverage.
very good points.
SKY were pioneers of football broadcasting and revolutionary. the camera work and commentary are still the best around (alan parry and marwood aside).
the main problem is with the pre match build up /guests and discussion. it is being dumbed- down. you see the same guests and interviewees week in and wk out.
i think the fact that they are getting more and more subscribers, has led to complacency and an inferior product.
-
No mention of Blackburn Rovers nothing.
was the same of SKY. rovers werent mentioned until 3:45! the panel was balanced aswell---
with hartson and "i spoke to my dad.." redknapp.
SKY's gone really sh.ite over the past few years.

I've seen ivan ergic when he was at perth glory, made the serbian world cup squad. The two aussie boys chipperfield and sterjovski seen them a fair bit. Chip on the left and sterjovski on the right, hope the full back are alert with sterjovski being the bigger threat.
chipperfield is an ex bus driver isnt he ?
has sterjovski only recently converted to midfield ? i'm sure he played upfront against man utd last season.

I do agree Pleasure, but the thing is you can practice and practice set pieces but it only takes one player in the 90 minutes to turn off for a split second and you're screwed-like we have been that has now cost us at least four points in the last three games.
players switching off is all it is.
our own corners also need working on.
did anyone else notice everton's goal at the emirates? cahill hid behind yobo and then darted in to score.
we've not been a threat from corners for about 10 years! we need a return to the 'wilcox and sherwood' inventive set-pieces.

here's basel's 1st team squad : http://www.fcb.ch/start.html
constanzo is a decent keeper (got to uefa final with alavez), baumann is a top class defender and petric is the up and coming star of croatian football.
most of the forwards are big lads!

Good news for Gallagher then to prove his worth . I'd have him higher up the pegging order than Roberts and Jeffers anyway .
apart from falling asleep at the corner, i thought gally did alright yesterday. he'll get his chance in the coming weeks and i wouldnt be suprised if derbyshire makes the bench also.
-
worryingly, the mistakes have come from players in all different positions :-liverpool - emerton bolton- neill west ham - gallagher.
it's a collective problem. corners will dominate this weeks training sessions.
-
Savage available, Morten and Nonda still doubtful.
if he doesnt get a knock in the next few days, nonda will be fit and play.
-
agree with phillip, wham were very lucky- however we had too many players off the pace. tugay, axe, bentley and gray were shocking.
i never want to see gray in a rovers shirt again... he looked way overweight and not arsed.
if we'dve got back to 1-1, we'dve got atleast a point, one of those days.
-
Mickey Gray has a habit of returning from the doldrums to reclaim his first team spot. I won't be surprised if he does it again.
as does andy todd.
anyway, he's off.... and, from the man himself, :---- "everton have made enquiries."
he gets on well with my brother, before any1 asks.

those tatics look crazy to me joey_big_nose
stand on your head to read them, presty!
-
I'm the moron but you're the one not using your brain? Hmmm
Sorry Pleasure but I've got no faith in your 'inside info' anymore. If you were right about MGP, I consider it coincidental.
as if i'm arsed!
-
England or not, I can't stand JT
i agree with you. he's turned into a jumped-up 'prima dona.'
an example of this occured in the 2nd half of last nights game.
a riversider had a brief joke with ashley cole, cole was laughing and putting his thumb up. terry proceeded to berate the linesman and steward and said :
"you should be fooking gettin him kicked out!" cole shook his head at terry to show there was no offence.
'working-class hero' ? my arse!
on the game itself- i may be being harsh on jay, considering his inj and lack of 1st team games (a few round me were getting seduced by him cutting out a few routine cross- passes) ,but i didnt think he looked up to it. his contract expires this summer aswell.
i thought we shaded the 1st half, but looked jiggered in the 2nd. henchoz, bentley (in CM role) and peter were terrific.
-
can't see there being more then 18000 down at ewood tonight especially with the weather being awfull
we'll be lucky if there's 10 on! (thousand).
-
question for lee....
how many are expected on tonight ?
-
Pleasure has his 'sources'. Otherwise known as the creative region of his brain.
nothing to do with my brain, you moron.
i saw him practising pens before the game at boro and then checked it out.
-
Hughes is taking it seriously.... (more than we are)
-
great preview ! very nice of ray winstone to contribute an' all.
bout time we broke the curse.
WHAM 0-2 ROVERS

Latest I've heard, is that there is an ""unprecedented interest" in this game.
that's what I hear.
on sunday, I was told by some wag, that rovers had "already sold 3,500 tickets"
obviously they hadn't, but it wouldn't surprise me if the written apps were approaching that figure.
on a side issue, just rung up for villa tkts and was 40th in the queue! man utd tickets went on sale yesterday, so looks like sunday might have re-ignited the interest!
if that's the case, i'm happy to be inconvenienced.

should rovers win on thursday and results go our way, we'll more of less have qualified - rendering the feyernoord game almost meaningless.
UEFA bookings: suspention after 3 cautions, also carried into next stages!
rovers players on 1 yellow card : brad, tugay, ooijer, bentley, nonda.
