  1. In light of Bolton (H) and with the additional insight of Lucas clearly on his way out and now having evaluted (albeit very limited) Benni and Roberts penalty taking skill.

Perhaps a poll on our penalty takers with 2nd and 3rd choice elaborated on via a post?

MGP is the designated pen taker at the moment.

however, if i were benni and roberts, i'd be asking to take the next one.

  2. 1. If the game against West Ham was a five a side, how would your team line up?

    brad, zurab, tugay, gallagher, mcCarthy

    2. Who have been your best and worst players so far?

WORST: Pedersen and ooijers 1st few performances. BEST: the rest of them!

    3. From a less than spectacular start, you seem right back on course (Sunday's madness aside)! What has sparked the transformation?

to begin with -plain solid work and after a few good results- the self belief has returned.

    4. What are the strengths and weaknesses of Mark Hughes?

strengths: man management, tactical nouse, well respected in the game and he's wizzard in the transfer market. weaknesses: the media dont give him and his staff enough credit.

    5. Which combo forms your best striking duo?

    Benni and Nonda.

  3. before i start- it's not sour grapes, id've made the same comments if we'dve won.

Bolton's approach to the game is disgraceful and has been well documented, but seems to have deteriorated still further.

they make Wimbledon look like they swaggered around the 'brazil 70' way!

how can a team time-waste from the 1st minute ? i remember them time-wasting at anfield when they were 1nil down!

the fact that we lost, doesn't particularly bother me. it's the way we lost- that's hard to take.

however, I'd rather get relegated to the conference playing our way, than playing the Bolton way and being 'successful.'

    the penalty situation---- feeble.

i expected Roberts to blast it. better to do a tugay, than pass it back to the keeper.

it's like the late 80's all over again.... and if it continues, we'll have to bring David mail out of retirement (or arrange behind close doors pen practice against stoke). :D

some positives to end on. that performance was our best fballing performance since may 04 (at spurs). we look a real threat from most departments.

it just wasn't our day yesterday. Wednesday cant come quick enough.

  4. the most comprehensive 2-1 victory in history! i dont to be unkind to our polish posters, but i dont think Wisla would beat burnley!

superb displays from zurab, burt, tugay, bentley and sav (taken him a while, but he's looking more and more like the player we thought we'd bought).

great to see the midfield coming up with the goals, takes the pressure off the forwards.

the run continues... now for bolton!

  5. LIVERPOOL - their back four, lucas will not get infront of any of them and they are a long way off winning the title.

IMO, lucas is better defensively than finnan, warnock, riise and that brazilian chap.

he's now experienced in playing is any position along the back-line and liverpool will be attracted by that.

i havent got an issue with him leaving us for the likes of liverpool and barca.

  6. Right you men,

As I posted the other week I expected us to sell out our allocation for Sunday. As of today bottom tier sold out, top tier on sale and expected to go before long!

    Question is will Blackburn??

    the REAL questions are :-

will your idiots stay in their own end ?

will diouf con another penalty out of us ?

will rovers fans be offered reduced prices for the breezeblock game ?

as for 'preparing an invasion' - it's nothing new to us.

1 last question - are bolton fans prepared to go home disappointed ?

  7. I read an article somewhere (ages ago) about the French system. I think it was gerrard houlier who helped set up an elite 'skills' project with alot of up & coming French kids. Some of France`s top pro came from there.

Maybe the FA should hire Houlier & ask him to set-up something similar?

Clairefontaine is the french training centre. the france national team is certainly reaping the benefits.

england had its own version lilleshaw (spelling), but then decided acadamies and centres of excellance would be a better option.

whether they have been is debatable.

  8. Id take Martins, Owen, Parker, Emre milner, but thats it duff is finished at that level ( a mixture of ego, the chelsea effect and injury's ), id take the whole of rovers rovers back 5, reid, bentley maybe mgp and benni over anything they have got

you'd take milner over duff ?

and martins.... he's not proved he can hack it yet! (he's in the same boat as shevchenko).

  9. BFS - as boss of one of Chelsea's rivals - should sit back and enjoy watching Hilario in goal like the rest of us rather than brown nose Abramovich and Mourinho.

FAT SAM is just brown-nosing, hoping to get him some brownie points back.

halario played against man utd in the champions lge, back in 97 (ish), and was absolutley shocking.

he must have improved since then, but if not..... it WILL be enjoyable.

i bet my life, that he gets nicknamed hilarious in the tabloids.

  10. Pretty sure that it was Emerton who left Bellers and not Ooijer...I could be wrong?

you're right. ooijer had crouch and zurab marked hypia.

exstatic with a point, as i feared the worst when bellamy scored.

i wouldve come on here and castagated those rovers fans who booed bellamy, but he probably didnt here them -over the barracking from the liverpool fans!

as it goes, bellamy did very little. he was getting increasingly frustrated in the 1st half, culminating with him elbowing brad in the mouth. i've heard very little media coverage regarding the incident. <_<

liverpool's style of play doesnt seem to suit him.

i thought zurab, neill (2nd half. i bet he couldnt belive his luck when pennant was taken off) and savage were outstanding.

a point at anfield is more than welcomed. rovers impressive run continues.

  11. with rovers current form, it'd be easy to say we're not missing him, but i believe we are.

i've given the guy serious pelters in the past, but towards the end of last season he was starting to rediscover his millwall form.

a real shame, for him and us. all the best, reidy.

  12. Given that most of the current French team aren't actually French, it's probably only a matter of time ... ...

When his country won the tournament in 1998, the racist politician Jean-Marie Le Pen complained that France were "not a real French team." Presumably, the millions of citizens who took to the streets in celebration didn't agree.

Tris, i understand your post isnt racist and that you're not a nazi. :D
