  1. Agreed sureley we have a higher profile and if i might be so bold as to say more fans than Bloody Milwall

However for everyone with a Broadband connection the game is being shown on Shanghai Sports, although I cant post a link it is available through most of the streaming softwares.

SHANGHAI SPORTS is a very poor quality stream. you'll see more on the radio.

  2. Fair enough!

It is a shame that we are the only British side not on T.V. and we qualified through our league position and not via the Intertoto cup like the barcodes. Then again if you were working for a television network you would choose to show the matches they have, as they represent the possibility for higher viewing figures then what we would generate with the exception of Derry but then again they would possibly have every irish football fan watching them.

Lets just face it, to a television network we do not represent a big enough audience for them.

the club should take a bit of the blame. there are enough sky channels and several PPV ones. millwall got their uefa game screened by bravo! we only have 700 tickets for the game.

it's down to poor marketing,......... again

  3. I think a lot of luck is involved. There wasn't much between us and a host of other sides, we had luck in the fact that we didn't have too many serious injuries and that the team clicked. I'm not saying that we didn't deserve it, but we had a fair bit of luck in getting there which we may not have this season (already the Nelsen injury has made us rush into adding to the squad).

in regards to luck, all teams have good and bad luck.

rovers finished 6th due to their planning and application.

  4. i'll go on record now as saying plastic pitches should be completely outlawed.

(reminds me of playing oldham in the 80's and don makay doing a 'david pleat jog' across the pitch, to thank the fans)

rovers should be okay, they've practised on our indoor t'astroturf pitch.

    red bull 1-1 rovers

ooijer OG friedel (from a goal-kick).

  5. Some argue that BRFC started the wage war. When Jack Walker came to the helm, we couldn't get players by impressing them with our training facilities (Pleasington playing fields), our ground (pre-developed Ewood), or our history (languishing for 20+ years in the lower leagues). Instead we paid them more than anyone else. I don't subscribe to this view but we have and still do pay more than most teams. Players are paid what the market is wiling to give them, until the money dries up they will always make extortionate amounts. Ashley Cole is only acting like any other self indulgent thick footballer and saying what he believes is true. I don't blame the bloke for what he says regarding money as I'd love to earn half of what he does.

Fans complaining about him or wages/game prices in general can stop it very easily; stop going to games, subscribing to Sky, or going to the boozer to watch. The choice is yours.

    exactly right.

let arsenal and chelsea squabble over the idiot. it doesnt concern us.

  6. I don't think we made huge leap forwards last season in the transfer window, but things clicked and we had a bit of luck and then put ourselves in a position where we could really improve, we faield to do so. Maybe we'll get lucky again, but based on the fact that teams rarely have two seasons where they finish above where their squad would get them on paper and the fact that all the teams around us improved more than we did, I would say that it is unlikely and we will now have a harder task to get back to that position then we did in trying to stay there.

so rovers finished 6th out of luck! come off it!

  7. Can honestly say it was the worst day of my footballing life :(

    nothing comes close. absolutely horrific.

sadly, my abiding memory of simon garner is of him pinging the crossbar in that game!

i was 9 at the time, and all the nonsense and injustice of that day has scarred me for life.

recent rovers dont know how good we've got it.

  8. Pleasure you do make a good point about last season, and it's true that similarly we werent hitting the back of the net last year too at this stage. However it is a concern-1 goal in 4 games is pathetic whichever way you wnat to look at it...and Glenn Roeder is getting stick from the media because they've only scored 3 from 3 games!!!

i agree the record looks poor, but that's been down to a lack of creativity from the midfield. it'll all change when ped returns to form, reid to fitness and with the maestro returning. bentley is also improving with every game and is starting to look a threat.

i think the strikers we have will score once chances are created.

  9. i cant believe all these doom and gloom merchants kicking up panic. there were a few sat near me on saturday, i got through to them in the end. :D

funnily enough, they never seemed top watch the game, they were more interested in winding up the sheff utd fans.

on the game itself, all that was lacking was our final ball.

pedersen was awful. it amazed me that he wasnt replaced , as we had sergio and gally on the bench.

however, having a bad game didnt stop him trying to score from EVERY CORNER.

i still need convincing over ooijer. he was out muscled too often (one 1st half slip shouldve been punished, but hulse missed a sitter). i'm bemused as to how he fails to get any power into his defensive headers, he nods clear giving possession back to the opposition.

friedels display.... i cant pay tribute in words! :tu:

i was encouraged by jeffers' display. he looked lively and made several clever runs.

tugay was fantastic. we look a much better side when he's orchestrating.

nonda will be a huge asset when he gets up to speed. he's a beast and makes kuqi look puny!

i was dumfounded by dean's refereeing. sheff utd mounted pressure in the last 15 mins and it was wholly down to his rank bad decisions. neither 3 were pens. dean and his assistants should be banished to league 2 for a few wks (at the very least).

i'm perplexed as to why we are the only team to get punished over this 'new' holding rule.

there seems to be a conspiracy against us. we've only had 4 games and 3 of them have been dominated by astonishing refereeing decisions.

i can only deduce ---- town teams are not wanted in the premiership.

message to the whingers is.... do you not remember the start to last season ? we won 1 out of 6 and were playing 1 man up and going nowhere.

things can change quickly in football and there's a long way to go.

  10. Never liked the guy because I never saw him once acknowledge the supporters either at home or away. He was always the first down the tunnel and it left a sour taste in the mouth.

But I’d rather have him than someone who refused to wear the shirt and throws his toys out of the pram every time he's dropped.

double standards, to support your argument! ? :D

  11. Get you facts right ROTM. Nothing happened last night. It was last weekend and has probably been completely blown up.

it'll have been exagerated, but, with gray or his agent refusing to comment, one-side is definetly admitting guilt.

there shouldnt be a furore about it. everyone has a bad night on the beer.... every now and again.

Or use Ant and Dec's classic ON THE BALL

It's Nelsen to Lucas, Lucas to Emo

Emo to Savage, Savage To Reid

Reidy to Morten, Morten to Benny

    Benny to Nonda to nod

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    He's NONDA goal

    [gets coat]

i'd like to see the drummers try and accompany it. :P

i'll test the water and start it at brammall lane! :D

  13. worryingly, not many wealthy english fans seem interested in purchasing clubs and , if they are, they are being outbid by foreign businessmen.

foreign businessmen have cottoned on that buying an english premier league club could by them respectability and adulation and find existing chairmen are willing to sell and often inflate the price.

if this trend continues, rovers are bound to be left behind (financially). this will make if almost impossible for rovers to not only compete, but to survive in the premiership.

here's hoping its a phase, but......
