I play football with two Rovers fans who both handed back their season tickets years ago due to the Venkys (one goes away occasionally). I'm friends with another Rovers supporting couple who also no longer go due to the lack of interest from the owners. Anecdotal, yes, but that's five Rovers fans right there. As we've repeatedly seen against Burnley / any cheap ticket offer games, the fan base is still there. 13k does not represent a sizeable portion of our fan base, just the absolute worn-to-the-nub hardcore.

Which sadly reflects a small minority of our fan base these days.

It'll obviously never come to that - this is change found between the cushions of the sofa for them - but again it does beg the question with all of this going on why are they hanging onto a very public PR disaster? Surely they'd sell and batten down the hatches?

They clearly KNOW they're going to lose the case, which is why they're so reluctant to put any money into the bond with the government.

You'd have said that to who? The manager clearly wanted to keep him. Imagine 20 goals from the #10 instead of whatever Cantwell / Weimann contributed - we'd have been comfortably in the playoffs.

I think if anything they've had it so easy over here for years because we're powerless to rid ourselves of them. They're arrogant billionaires who never fall foul of the EFL or HMRC - they always put in just enough money to satisfy the two bodies that could force them to sell the club. They're despised by the vast majority of the fan base, but it's irrelevant to them as they simply never attend.

At a properly run club it wouldn't be an issue. There are plenty of minutes to go around and we ran Travis and Tronstad into the ground last season - both picked up significant injuries because they were overworked. At Rovers we're expecting an Academy player to back up our starter, so yeah it's unlikely to happen.

He's a better crosser than the lad we've just signed.

The question has to be asked again, what the actual fuck do they get out of owning this club?

He'd start at 2/3rds of the clubs in this league without even blinking.

Who does a 2 year deal harm, exactly? Let's say he's brilliant again next year, but the year after his legs completely go (unlikely). He'd still be a very useful bench player and personality to have around the squad (he seems incredibly professional). They were willing to keep McFadzean on as essentially a player / coach. Why not Batth? We apparently have 2 or 3 really promising young CBs on the books, they could learn a lot from him.

They sat him on the bench behind Calamity for most of the year, of course he wants out.
