  1. Tell you what, lads - some of you are wasted on here. You should be professional scouts as you're able to determine a player's ability in minutes.
  2. Yeah I don't even look at the parachute payment clubs, Birmingham, Wrexham, Boro or Coventry - they operate in a different world to us. They actually want to progresss.
  3. Or they've kept the transfer of a bloke with multiple international caps / a British passport who currently plays on the Continent incredibly quiet. I'd be impressed if that's the case.
  4. They'll be trying, but without those ESC places to play with and this hard £10k a week salary cap options will be very limited. Any of those targets from the Continent that would suit the above criteria would already be over for a medical (and those tend to leak out) so I suspect we're not going to sign anyone.
  5. "I think around 10 million euros was mentioned by Slovakian media" according to someone on Reddit.
  6. Will see - looks a bit slow and fat from the highlights videos I've just watched of him. I can actually see Gudjohnsen doing well here - he's the type of striker we've been missing.
  7. That we won't pay over £10k in wages and guarantee him playing time?
  8. I'd rather buy Cadamarteri and have him around the squad this year. He'll get a lot of minutes if he's any good.
  9. Which is why ideally we'd bring another winger in, but we won't. We can't be happy with Hedges starting games. Kargbo is better suited to being an impact sub and, as he's clearly carrying an injury right now, it benefits him to limit his minutes anyway.
  10. 90% of our signings we didn't know about until someone reported they were in for a medical. You might be right that Gudjohnsen is the last, but you can't say with certainty.
  11. Freebies cost more in wages - especially established Championship freebies. Loans cost a loan fee then you pay their wages for a year. Yes, they're hoping to a) survive and b) unearth a few players they can sell on for a big profit so they can keep the cycle / gravy train going for as long as possible.
  12. The ambition is to bob around in mid-table Championship obscurity for the lowest possible cost.
  13. It's fucking absurd they can steal him from us for £16m, do absolutely nothing to develop him, then ask for £150m 18 months later. Horrible club, I hope they get relegated.
  14. And the wage bill suitably obliterated.
  15. No, we're in the black. We're fighting against the tide.
  16. Absolute shitload of money has been spent this summer. Usually the Championship doesn't have two pennies to rub together.
  17. It's worth pointing out because it's abnormal.
  18. Its the Siu celebration Ronaldo does - the clip cuts off early. Nobody in our current squad scores that goal - they don't have the technique.
  19. No wonder Eustace left us, they've spent an absolute fortune this summer.
  20. Yeah I definitely need some time away from this board. Writing players off after 4 games. Unbelievable.
  21. They're going to have to cycle through a team every 2 years, yes.
  22. Off the top of my head: Should have booked whoever scythed down Hedges and whoever fouled Alebiosu (#19?) in the first half when they were both clear down the wing. Should have booked both Norwich players who stood in front of the ball when Cantwell was trying to take a quick FK in the second half (Cantwell got a telling off instead). Should have booked the Norwich player who delayed the quick play of a throw-in in the first half. Hedges was fouled off the pitch in the second half and he waved play on. Should probably have given us a penalty for handball (haven't seen it back, but every Rovers player went up for it). Should have sent S. Wharton off for pulling back their attacker in the second half when clean through on goal. I'm only irked by it because Cantwell got booked for standing up for Ribeiro (one of their players was standing over Ribeiro menacingly as he was on the ground) and booked Tronstad for literally his first foul of the game. Either officiate it properly or don't bother and let it become a melee. Don't punish one team harshly and let the other off.
  23. Ooooph. He was one of the worst I've ever seen. They genuinely couldn't do much worse sacking the lot of them and starting again afresh.
  24. I just want consistency from referees. I'm not incredibly blinkered at all. I thought S. Wharton should have been sent off today for grabbing their attacker round the neck when he was running down the right - I think the ref took pity on him and turned a blind eye because he'd already sent off McLoughlin for less contact.
  25. Assuming Gudjohnsen is a done deal (and if he was there today he'll fancy his chances of starting against Watford!!!) I still think we need another winger, a CM and a GK. We're not signing a GK by the looks of it - Ismael's answer on BBC Lancashire about the pathways / young kids didn't even reference Pears. He must be on his way out and they apparently don't plan to replace him, which is worrying.
