I suspect they'll try to shift Travis on in the summer if they get a decent offer. He's not a good enough footballer to play CM in this system - they've already taken him out of the firing line by hiding him at RB / AMC when we have the ball. After the PNE debacle they simply don't trust him to take the ball with a man on his back. -

The problem is there isn't a big CF to aim for, or really someone that's going to bang one in from range - so they almost have to try and pass it into the back of the net. It's painful to watch. -

Speaking of annoying - I nearly rushed the pitch when their #20 (I think) sprinted back onto the pitch to close our player down after being down for 3+ minutes with a 'facial injury' right at the end. I was apoplectic. The refs in this league are just awful. I don't know how they look themselves in the mirror. -

I don't agree that it feels like a loss or that it was a dismal display. We were well in control. It all harks back to January when we didn't sign a striker - we're just not clinical in the final third. We, once again, created a hatful of chances (from memory): Dolan's 1-on-1 miss, Gallagher failing to control a pass from JRC (I think?) when he was clean through on goal, Thomas firing into the side netting twice rather than squaring it, JRC firing a ball across the goalline, Hedges firing a ball across the 6 yard box that Leonard just missed, Brereton-Diaz 'baby-legging' it rather than passing to the overlapping Pickering (or y'know, hitting the ball properly) etc etc If you go ahead in that game it's a romp - they came for a draw and got it. Broughton (and JDT if he stays) has got a big job in the summer shifting on some of this squad and replacing them with quality. The nucleus is there for a strong promotion push, but we need goal scorers. -

I think we're going to fall well short - I'm not sure if we pick up another point this season. It's a very tough run in and we just can't score goals. We were playing with 9 today with Gallagher and Brereton-Diaz on the pitch. You can't ask an 18/19 year old just making his debut to bag your goals... so where are they coming from? -

Morton was really good for 20 minutes, then he disappeared. -

He's 51, but I agree with you. You'd still be playing with 10, mind. -
His agent had better double check the contract he's signed with Villerreal is binding because I'm sure they will be. He's been poor in 2023 and was awful tonight against Hull. We've no reason to play him again this season.

After two howlers last match? Have a word, JDT. -

I hope the players are more up for this than I am. I can't be bothered with a 7.45pm kick off on a Saturday. -

Looking more and more likely the stigma of being the only club to win the PL and get relegated is about to be removed. -

We had the opportunity to put ourselves 7 points clear of the chasing pack with a win at Birmingham... -

I don't recognise Greater Manchester considering Lancashire County Cricket Club's ground is located in Manchester. -

It's simply not happening - we fucked up the January transfer window by not bringing in a goal scorer, it's been a slow slide down the league since. Just enjoy the progress we've made and hope JDT stays and is backed in the summer. -

Lancashire derby, relegation decider (for Wigan at least). Neither team is busting a gut to win this and it's very scrappy. Bowler subbed off after an hour looking disinterested. -

This Blackpool - Wigan game is terrible. -
I don't love JDT, but yes I despise any manager that runs down the club he's at in the media. Especially one as tactically inept as Mowbray.

They hit us on the break twice. We, once again, squandered a hatful of chances - the difference at most levels of football is how clinical you are in front of goal. We run Gallagher out there as the tip of our spear... -
Mostly dog shit?

Oh we're not advancing in the Playoffs - I'd just like to get there for once. -

It is - that's the worry. Unless Leonard starts banging them in, there simply aren't enough goals in this team to decide our own fate (in a positive manner at least). -

It's Morton's first loan, they won't have asked for much. Archer is a proven commodity at this point. -

Doubtful - they were last-minute deals and will be for peanuts. Archer won't have been cheap - he's already scored 15+ goals in the Championship as a 20 year old. -

We needed a striker in January, everyone knows that - they tried to get two and failed on both. I'd love to know what kind of loan fees they're paying for Archer / Ramsey et al. I'd dead set against pumping your side full of loanees unless they're definitely going to take you over the top to the PL. It's like paying rent instead of a mortgage.
