Erik Botheim has been mentioned a few times in this thread, he is now in Italy and will probably sign for Salernitana.

People need to calm down, we missed out on one player? Who knows how wanted he actually was?
Let's judge when the window is shut. The team was back today? JDT have assessed the squad and now know what he needs.
Considering all the leagues he has played in, I bet that he have more contacts in the game than any prior Rovers manager.

It's a trek from Manchester to Sheffield - almost as long as the flight from Malmo to Manchester. Surely a small plane like that could land at Leeds / Bradford?
No problem for a Cessna Citation, just need 3,500 ft of runway or so to take off and land.

I find it all very strange and ultimately it proves nothing but there has been a flight from Malmo to Manchester that wasnt initially scheduled today. People are sharing on twitter.
It came from London, just stayed on the ground in Malmø for 1 hour. Surely picking someone up?

No, I thank it was Neophox who claimed that.

Alioune Ndour at FK Haugesund is an interesting midfelder... scored 8 goals so for. Senegalese international and only 24. Worth a look.
They are playing him as a striker, so he is not scoring those from a midfield position. But interesting player anyway.

We can cross off one of the players from the list I mentionend earlier with regards to the "Broughton/Glimt connection" ;
Philip Zinckernagel have left Watford and English football and joined Olympiacos.
Don't know if he ever was on Broughton's list though.

Well if we could get Ola Solbakken I would be very impressed and surprised. There is no secret that Jose Mourinho is a great admirerer, and there were some reports weeks ago that Solbakken were close to joining Rome.

Some other Broughton - Bodø/Glimt connections they could look at:
Fredrik Bjørkan - leftback, Hertha Berlin, 23 years old. Not regular.
Patrick Berg - midfield, Lens, 24 years old. Not regular.
Philip Zinckernagel, midfield, Watford, 27 years old. Was on loan to Forest last season.
Erik Botheim, striker, no club, 22 years old. Last played for Krasnodar in Russia.
And this is a long shot for many reasons: Mathias Normann, midfield, Rostov, 26 years old. Was on loan to Norwich last season. Normann left Glimt the same year as Broughton started there.

Not sure why they felt the need to show some of those clips repeatedly through the video though. I'm sure one of the moves got shown in 4 different occasions!
Looks like he could compensate for losing Nyambe's pace and stamina, with a bit more quality in the final third. Hard to gauge his defensive work though.
Only 21 I see, nice! Lots of time to improve. Any thoughts what price range they might expect?
Smashes the work permit points needed btw, with 28. Damn that calculator Joe posted is handy...I've bookmarked it. Also tells me he has played 62% of domestic minutes and 78% of European, so not THAT out of favour as he's getting more than any other RB they have. Unless he fell out of favour recently.
Yeah I did not know what of those videos to post to be honest, there were a lot!
Price range, transfermarket says 4.5 mill euros.
He lost his place during the spring, only played 17 minutes of the semi-final and final of the Conference League.

If JDT is looking at players from the Dutch league, I hope he will be looking at Marcus Holmgren Pedersen. He is our first choice rb at the national team, but currently out of favour at Fenenyoord.
Other norwegian players that he might look at:
Jørgen Strand Larsen, striker 22 years old. 14 goals from 32 matches for Groningen.
Håkon Evjen, midfielder 22 years old, plays at AZ Alkmaar. Broughton will know this guy from Bodø/Glimt.

Here is a small piece from an article in the local paper in Bodø, sorry for the bad translation.
Despite the odds, Bodø-Glimt expert Freddy Toresen doubts that Kjetil Knutsen will leave Bodø to join Blackburn.
-The chances for that to happen equales zero.
Why?
- I am basing that on the work relationship between Knutsen and Broughton when they both were in Bodø. Lets say that there are people at the club that have spoken more togheter than those two in recent years.- 7

Pretty sure @Swansonrecommended Knutsen years ago as a potential manager appointment who would be class!
Be class if we got him
I did actually. But as I posted earlier in this thread today, it might seem unlikely because I have been told that Gregg and Knutsen wasn't best friends at Bodø/Glimt and that was part of the reason why he left the club.

Hi, what do you know about Deila, would he be a great appointment?
Know him mainly from the norwegian league and what he did there. It was a very good achievement to win the league with Strømsgodset, small club, small budget. Vålerenga on the other hand, that was a bit of a dissapointment. Bigger club, bigger budget. But no one ever have success at Vålerenga. If he is a good fit for Rovers? Honestly don't know. Let's see if he gets the job first.

I think we can rule out Knutsen. Him and Broughton weren't actually best friends in Glimt and that is one of the reasons that he left Bodø, that's what I have been told.

Isn't Knutsen Bodo's manager?
Yes, Broughton was the academy director there.

A friend of mine that is a season ticket holder at Glimt, says Broughton is the reason some of the players have made huge steps. Players like JP Hauge (Frankfurt), Fredrik Bjørkan (Hertha Berlin) and Ola Solbakken (on the verge of joining Roma).

"There could be another contender.."
So if someone shows up, he could say "I told you so".
And if there is no new contender, he will say "I said there could be, but it didn't happen".
So typical Nixon.

Norwegian website confirms Deila interview.
It says that he has been interviewed and he is one of the candidates. Deila is open to leave the MLS and take over a europeian club.

Its surely just people getting value not only for their money but going to the time of going to Ewood every week. Not everyone should or will feel obliged to attend regardless, and of course no one knows how any new manager would do, we could appoint a real no hoper who surprises us all or equally a big name who fails. But you can make a reasonable guess a lot of the time as to how you expect the season MIGHT go. Totally get the point about believing rumours and I havent got excited/angry about any potential "appointment" as no one seems to know.
Around where sorry?

Not to sure about Jo Inge Berget to be honest, have always been a talented football player. Never had the big breakthrough and flopped the last time he played in England. He has been decent for Malmø tough. I am mainly against this possible transfer because of his age.
Best memory of Berget is his two goals (one was ruled own goal later) against Croatia in a 2-0 win in the Euro qualification in 2015, he was excellent in that game.
