  1. Everytime hes come on hes looked move threatening then MGP, he hasnt looked out of place in the premiership, All of his goals and assists last season for Stoke were mainly from playing the Left Wing, not the right wing actually. Gally is a exciting play to watch in my opinion, has good skill and can pick out a good pass, hes always look to do something positive, its a shame we arent seeing more of him, maybe Hughes see's his pace and defensive skills as a letdown, again the Stoke fans always used to bash gally for the defensive side of his game.

I think Gally will be looking to leave Rovers come January, he must of thought he'd at least be on the bench with our current Injurys, what does he have to do to be given a chance?

Douglas - the Leeds fans dont even rate him and DONT see him as a starter for them, says it all really. If you dont believe this ( RTM ) take a simple look at their message board www.waccoe.com

Think it will be another nail in the coffin if we let Gally go in january. Sparky will loose allot from the acadamy if he doesnt give Gally a chance and just lets him go in january.

As for Mr Douglas, he might not be rated highly by Leeds supporters, but i defo rate him higher than Mokoena at the moment judging by his performances...

  2. Danns can't even get into there first 11, so how can he be playing out of his skin, do you just look on teletext and think if a player has scored he must be playing out of his skin

I been reading reviews, whats wrong with that? Have you been watching him play... Do you know Steve Bruce and know why he doesnt select him in the starting 11? If not i dont think you can accuse me of the same for not knowing...

  3. Considering the result, 1-0 against Man Utd isn't too bad a scoreline, and to be honest, with our current run at the moment, wasn't expecting a similar result from last season either.

Hopefully we can snap this skid against the Spuds, which would be pretty sweet :D

1 or 3 points is what we wanted = we didnt get it = so it wasnt good enough...

You cant be happy because we ONLY lost 1 nil, we lost you should be unhappy! Or am i the only person who feels this way? :o:huh:

  4. I sourced my info from www.bcfc.com

I think the very fact you are advocating we play two players who are playing at Championship clubs and on the face of struggling, For crying out loud "looked steady" in the team who are sitting pretty in the very lowest echelons of the Championship is an interesting idea.

Given the calibre of the staff in the academy and the amount of time they spend with these players I would trust their opinion over someone who has never watched them.

    Try: http://msnsport.skysports.com/squadlist.aspx?clid=41&cpid=10

tell me something honestly, do you think Mokoena is Premier League quality based on his performances of late??

  5. I can only surmise that you saw neither of those players.

I'd rather have Ste B play than John Douglas.

    Right..................................................................................?

if thats your opinion, you cant have very much faith in our acadamy??

Neil Danns has been playing out of his skin for the Brum lately and looks to be growing up into a midfielder we could at least use in a crisis like this.

Douglas in particular is looking solid in his last 2 games...

  6. What????

Douglas has PROVEN that he is not good enough at this level, the other thing that you are failing to take into account is that if Hughes has people in line and he can't get them (Until January) then that's life, you don't keep people that plainly aren't good enough and you certainly don't just go and get someone else who isn't either, also, would you expect to have Reid out for such a length of time? No you wouldn't would you?

The axe has always been a utility player, Douglas wasn't even that.

Give MH's some credit, he's hardly done a bad job has he???!! We've hardly got a russian billionaire chipping in have we?!

Sometimes I wonder how some poeple's expectations are in anyway manageable, ever! ...

My expectations werent to get beaten by Pompey so badly on the first day of the season and defo werent to be where we are in the table right now.

Mokoena has proven he isnt Premier League standard and so i dont think you can say he should be playing in place of anyone else. I agree with the fella up top, we might as well be playing with 10 men all the good Mokoena does us... He slows down our game, which means our counter attack is a snails pace slow which then means we have to resort to Bentleys long passing/hopeful lobs up field...

Something needs to change soon or were going to find ourselves playing the likes of Leeds and the Brum next season, then it wont matter who is 'premier league quality'...

  7. The problem is though that Mokoena never wins the ball. Throughout the last few games I have often thought that we may as well be playing with ten men. It's easy to say with hindsight but Douglas shouldn't have been sold until another centre midfielder was bought. He's definitely better in a 4-42 than Mokoena.

THANKYOU!!! - I have been saying this since we sold him.

I think Sparky made a huge BLUNDER by selling Douglas at that point in time, we all knew we needed a new midfielder during the summer and 90% of us were screaming out for one to be purchased in the transfer thread. Everyone was saying dont worry, he knows what he is doing.... Were now getting into the season, hard games ahead, and were stuck relying on a woeful midfielder because Sparky didnt have a good backup plan incase of injury.

I think we have been LUCKY to be honest. Tuggs is getting on and he is fairly injury prone due to his playing style.

If he got injured then who would we play??

Im sorry, i just expect Premier League managers to have a backup plan if all else fails, and oweing to recent results, i really dont think Sparky has one...

Edit: Need i also mention a certain player called Neil Danns is playing some blinders for Birmingham...?

  8. its rememberance day, in memory of the people who stopped the nazi`s taking over

    no excuse at all

It is remembering the soldiers who died in both wars, but its not just the soldiers who 'kept the nazi's from taking over'.

Rememberence Day is to mark the signing of the Armistice on the 11th of November 1918 at the end of the 1st World War - Need i point out the Nazi's didnt even exist back then??

It was originally named Armistice day but renamed Rememberence Day for ALL the soldiers who have died during wars...

    :rover:

  9. B11: No. Saha wasn't even the one who scored. Saha knocked the ball down illegally with his arm and Smith smashed it past Brad from about 10 yards. It wasn't even close to going out of play - that wasn't the contentious issue.

    Stand corrected.

  10. d1ckead on 5 live after the game slagging peter and rovers in general for kicking and trying to end ronaldos carreer and that rovers are the dirtiest team hes ever seen....

What?!?!?:huh::blink::huh: You mean Ronaldo kept going over?!?!?

    Im shocked!!!

If were dirty then there downright cheats!! How many non-penalties have they won over the years?

How many goals for other teams have been disallowed even though they were blatent goals? Manure vs Spuds (Mendez)

How many goals have they scored which shouldnt have been. e.g. there equaliser 2 years back when Smith blatently played it out of play, passed it back in for Saha to score and the goal stood??

    The list goes on...

  11. Given and Beattie are the only ones who'd get in our squad though ( beattie might ), plus Given is a sicknote for a goalkeeper

Rovers have judged the quality of academy players far more better then most of the other prem teams, if we've only let Beattie and Given go who were of decent quality then thats a fairly good average compared to the ones we got right!

I still think Douglas, YES DOUGLAS could have been a big help at the moment! I'd rather play him center midfield then Mokoena...!

Also Danns is a prospect i miss who is playing well at the Brum!

  12. do you honestly think if we had the next Rooney or Walcott sitting in the U18's we wouldn't push him into the 1st team? Fact of the matter is our youngsters aren't good enough for premiersip football at the moment. It's not a failing of the academy which is renowned as one of the best in the country it just so happens the talent isn't there right now!

Compare some of our youngsters performances (example U18's yesterday) to Mokoena's performances of late... I think we can do better than Mokoena even if it means putting a player from a different position in center.

1 - I dont need to doubt Hughes results and overall performances as they speak for themselves

2 - Players who deserve a chance, i have heard good things about several of our young players in our reserves/acadamy, and considering the current squad is not working and we have over a month till severall of our important players come back and the transfer window reopens im just thinking how much worse can it get then current results if we try a few risks and play a few untried youngsters... :tu:

Edit: Simple answer is how can a player become a first teamer if there never given a chance in the first team...?

  13. How do we not take advantage of the academy?!

Erm... Shay Given and James Beattie to name a few...

Also the only players who have even seen a glimer of first team action from the acadamy are, James McEveley (1 sub appearence), Sergio Peter (not sure how many sub appearences so far but looks like he will get a few games), Paul Gallagher (1 start and 8 sub appearences for about 10 mins a game) and Matt Derbyshire who i think really deserves a tryout...! There are quite a few players who sound like they deserve a small chance at least. I also think choosing a player like Mokoena over some excellent youngters we have... Big thumbs up to our acadamy players who thrashed Utd 3 nil yesterday... Isnt very good for inspiring the moral and hope of Rovers youngsters. This is just my opinion though...

  14. Italy neutral in WW2!!! They were part of the Axis and had been since 1937! I take it you did not study History at school RTM. Just for the record, in case there are any more under the same delusion: Italy, under the facist dictator Mussolini, were allies of the Germans right up to the time they surrendered in 1943.
