To be fair i don't think that he has complained that the player got annoyed with him, it was other drama queens on here like mercerman that got up in arms about it.

Looking forward to seeing some of the older members posts in here, as mine are all fairly predictable.
So many games i want/could include in this, but i'll go for the ones that meant the most to me.
5- 05/01/1991 Rovers 1 Liverpool 1 (FA Cup 3rd round)
This is where it all started for me, as this was my first ever game at Ewood, had a small interest in football, mainly liked Liverpool because a lot of my mates at school seemed to support them, my mum who has been a Rovers fan all her life decided this was the ideal time to take me to my first game, i was the envy of everyone at school as i was going to see Liverpool live. Sat in the old nuttal street stand, remember the atmosphere was electric, and within about 10 minutes of the game i was a fully converted Rover and was begging my mum to take me to the next home game, was gutted after Super Atko's last minute OG!
4 - 17/12/2000 Burnley 0 Rovers 2
Never seen so much hype going into a game, my first taste of the old east lancs derby too, great day as we were actually behind them in the table prior to this game, gave them a football lesson, and never looked back on our way to promotion.
3 - 08/05/1995 Rovers 1 Newcastle 0
Victory at Ewood day! Best atmosphere Ewood has seen since being all seater? If you didn't know any better watching the game you would have thought it was Newcastle who were top of the league and gunning for the title, very one sided and very tense, Tim Flowers had the game of his life, he has bottle you know. After this it really hit home and was possible that we could be champions of England.
2 - 24/02/2002 Rovers 2 Tottenham Hotspurs 1 (Worthington Cup Final)
Winning a domestic knock out cup is something i wasnt sure i'd ever see Rovers do to be honest, but it happened here, remember getting into Cardiff very early, must have been around 9-10am, thousands of Spurs fans were already there being there usual arrogant selves, remember it throwing it down all day, (much like at Wigan the other day, although maybe not quite that wet!) Friedal & Hughes had blinders, and the excellent Jansen/Cole partnership sent us into Europe following a up to that period, disapointing return to the Premier League. This spurred us on for the remainder of the season to easily survive relagation, and finish in 10th place.
1 - 14/05/1995 Liverpool 2 Rovers 1
For anyone who was there this day, how can it not be number 1? We didnt go to enough away games to get a ticket in the Rovers end for this, think you needed about 9 or 10 away stubs if i remember rightly? (ahh stubs, remember them days?!) so we managed to obtain two tickets in the Liverpool end (anfield road end right next to the rovers fans) through two dear freinds of my mothers, they were there season ticket seats and they kindly gave them to us for the day after they heard we missed out on tickets, a gesture that will never be forgotton thats for sure!
Anyway we were both there kitted out in blue and white, there was plenty of banter directed towards us, all good fun though as everyone in that stand genuinly seemed to want Rovers to win. That brief second of despair when Redknapp scored to the sheer joy just afterwards is just something i will never forget. Don't think i'll ever see this happen again, but a superb memory to look back on

Can't say i'll lose any sleep over Zurab losing.
He's never quite been good enough for us.
-
According to soccerbase he has scored 48 goals for us. Has any other striker done that in a Rovers shirt since Gallacher?
I'd wager Matt Jansen got over 50 goals for us, although most of them were in the second tier.

Just trying to pass the last few minutes before the weekend, and I was trying to name the line up for that game. Have a feeling that Wilcox missed out that day due to injury. I also remember Berg playing the ball up to Shearer from right back for the goal This is the team I think started- ANY HELP GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.
GK Flowers
RB Berg
CH Hendry
CH Pearce?
LB Le Saux
LW Kenna?
CM Sherwood
CM Batty
RW Ripley
CF Shearer
CF Sutton
Thanks
That's the exact team that started, i think that Le Saux played LW and Kenna played LB though, could be wrong.

I see Derbs has had to pull out of the Under 21's with a groin strain, though they are hopeful that he will be fit in time for the Arsenal game.
You would assume Benni Mac may have to play against Arsenal if Roque and Derbs don't recover in time.
Or maybe Ince would go with Roberts with Carlos playing just off him?
-
With Fergies No 2 about to leave to manage Portugal Hughies move to Man City may have been a bit hasty..
Why?
Not a chance Hughes would have gone anywhere as a number 2, even Utd.
-
Interesting list there, cant really argue with any of them.
-
When he had a fairly long run in the team he started to look a half decent player to be fair. The problem really seems to be when he comes in for the odd game here and there, that's when he looks suspect.
Fully agree with that, when Savage was injured for the second half of last season and Moko stepped in, he started to play well after half a dozen starts or so because he was playing regular.
-
Doesn't matter. Team mates in friendlies shouldn't be tackling team mates. The Axe deserves at the very least a reprimand and probably a 2 week pay docking and putting on the transfer list for hurting Rocky- even if it wasn't too bad.
Would you be saying the same thing had it been the other way round?

Thought this was a new thread for a min, was gonna say whats he done now

32,839 v Liverpool (99/00) FA Cup (4th rnd)-I think is a little optimistic Cletus, as it exceeds the ground capacity by about a thousand people!
That game was at Anfield.

A good game, a great day out and - most importantly - a historic result for the club.
It's funny how time alters your perspective about a particular game. I remember back then it was the 'Worthless Cup' and the competition was widely derided by all concerned. Fergie had slated it and Wenger had fielded a bunch of total no-hopers in the quarter final, who we promptly trounced 4-0.
However, now the League Cup is once again seen as a handy trophy to bag early doors - and only ever won by the Big Four (bar Boro a few years back) - that day's win has taken on much greater gravitas with the passage of time.
At that time, we were in a relegation battle in the league, while Spurs were on a great run of form. In all honesty, I didn't rate our chances, and neither did many of the pundits.
Drove up to Cardiff with my sister from London to meet my dad. Wasn't it absolutely chucking it down? Yes, it was, that's why they had the roof shut. The rain didn't dampen the party vibes among rival fans in the streets around the stadium and the closed roof seemed to bottle the atmosphere within the Millenium when we got inside.
I was sat miles away from my family on my own. The stadium was so huge, I couldn't even find my dad and sister with a pair of binoculars.
Game got underway and it was clear both sides were pretty evenly matched. Anyone remember why Tugay wasn't playing? I believe Flitty was suspended and I remember thinking it was a match too far for one Mark Hughes Esq in midfield !!!! Thankfully the old bruiser proved me wrong.
Magic Matty Jansen scored the opener - how sad to realise now it was to prove the pinnacle of his doomed career. Spurs were full value for their equaliser and arguably edged the rest of the game, but it was King Cole who scored the vital winner with a very cute finish.
I remember the late penalty appeal and even though I was sat about half a mile up in the Stevie Wonder seats (couldn't see sh*t!), I instinctively KNEW it was a cast-iron spotkick. We really owe Graham Poll a debt of gratitude for stuffing that one up.
The final part of the game dragged on interminably and I recall a group of fans sat to my left chanting "15 minutes till we win the Cup," "12 minutes till we win the Cup" and so on. I was sure they were tempting fate and Spurs would score to take it into extra time.
That wasn't to be the case thankfully and we held on to win. I remember Souey - who I still have huge affection for - looked incredibly proud to have guided Rovers to a trophy. His "This is a GREAT day for the little club" post-match comments still give me chills.
On the way home there were horrendous traffic jams all the way back to London. All the Spurs fans looked thoroughly miserable - it was great!!!
He was suspended too.
-
I wasn't there (I worked Saturdays back then) but got home before full-time. The wind was blowing in the right direction (from Ewood to Mill Hill) and I heard the cheers, it felt like every 5 minutes. Remember this was the Norwich who had pulled off a famous victory at Bayern Munich midweek!
I thought Norwich were in the Uefa cup the year after.

including 3 points against Boro
Make that 6 points against Boro.
Nonda is ok and has shown flashes of talent, when he had a run of about 10 games in a row between November & New Years day (he got took off injured at half time & matty came on to score his first goal for us) i thought he was really starting to look sharp, and scored a cracker against Boro at home & also 2 goals at the Emirates. Since then though he has only played a bit part, and come May 14th will probably be shipped back to Roma.

Was £32 for OT last season, if it wasnt for the fact that i have the away season ticket & that this game falls on my birthday i would be pretty tempted not to bother to be honest.
-
Remember this game fondley, was during the only season i had a season ticket in the Riverside!
Was only young at the time, but the memory of Shearer smashing that second goal in will live with me forever, if i remember rightly was this game a 5pm KO or something similar due to Sky?
-
Would be nice to see a few
DUNNY
4
ENGLAND
shirts around in the coming months.
I had that on my old away shirt.
The Navy blue one from the 01/02 season (I think?)
-
Think I saw you at a pub in villa then
You can hardly miss him!
-
Im all for Dunn coming back at the right price, which i think most Rovers fans would agree with.
However have some have said he is not the Tugay replacement we are crying out for, i just cant see him having the disciplin to sit in front of the back four spraying the ball about.
-
Yes, I think we're on the 7.54 but will double check, hopefully see you there. In fact if we are on that train we'll be there about the same time so will bell you Jordan.
Awesome, think that train goes through Congleton so i may just get on it.
-
Lose 2-0.
antigallican it is then.
-
Be interesting to see what tomorrows gate is, even though the tickets are reasonably priced Fulham arnt exactly a crowd puller and they'll bring there usual 400.
Didnt last years gate against fulham only attract 16000ish? Can see it being worse tomorrow unfortunatly.
-
Macclesfield away would do me, only 10 mins up the road, failing that either away to a ground ive never been or at home to a league 2 side.
