  1. Yeah I suppose it's easy to agree to a 3/4 year deal of 20k a week when you don't have to actually commit to it after the loan ends. I'd like to think they would have negotiated something realistic in case he does turn out to be a good one so we can trigger it at any time, but then I remember who's in charge.
  2. Well you seemed pretty confident to say multiple times this summer that Brittain and Tronstad would sign new deals. So, how many of that lot who expire in less than two years do you think will sign new contracts here? Going off recent history, I will say none, with the outside chance of one, being Wharton because he's a Blackburn lad.
  3. I think, when you do a deal that is a loan with an option to buy, that the permanent contract has to be done at the time of the deal? Otherwise it would just go down as straight loan deal. Ismael did say in his interview on the transfer window that the two loans didn't really feel like loans because we have the option to make them our player at any time.
  4. This is a classic preconceived opinion of someone because of the type of player he is. Cantwell offers more than you think in that regard. Anyway, on this game it will be exactly the same as the last home game after a decent away win. Rovers 0 Ipswich 2
  5. Toth, Carter, Wharton, Mcloughlin, Pickering, Cantwell, Kargbo & Ohashi's contracts all expire in less than two years. How many of those do you think will sign new contracts now that we can't use the excuse of "it was out of our control before we arrived"?
  6. More than that really when you factor in Goddard, Michelski, Montgomery, Tyjon etc who don't need to be registered. Gestede himself also mentioned Atcheson in his interview. Completely agree its the lack of quality that will do us this season.
  7. No, we're a one contract club now. Sign a 3/4 year deal when joining and then sell 2/3 years into that deal. Rinse and repeat until the end of time.
  8. If only they had some history to look back on to prevent it just being hindsight.
  9. Again, on the pitch matters are secondary here. Nobody cares. Why add another wage to the budget when you don't have to?
  10. The window would have gone exactly the same whether they had to pay a bond or not.
  11. I don't think it would have mattered if it had got removed back in May. This transfer window would have played out exactly the same as it has done.
  12. Fully agree, he's miles off it. Which is why it will probably happen. Nice, cheap and easy. And one they can point at saying "look we can get new contracts signed". Kristi Montgomery is committed, are YOU?
  13. There's been a few like Goddard, Michelsi, Batty etc who have signed new deals but it's a stretch to call any of those a first team player. No doubt the ones who point out Riberio signing a "new deal" which I don't think was as @KentExile said, will also point out Forshaw too. I predict the next player to sign a long term "renewal" here will be Montgomery.
  14. Predictable! Anyone else since December 2023?!
  15. Only if there contract is terminated inside a transfer window. If he left on a free now he wouldn't be able to sign for anyone until there respective transfer windows open.
  16. History tells us that they don't want, or know how to renegotiate current contracts, so I fully believe this to be the case.
  17. Wouldn't be too bothered about that part to be fair. This lot don't deserve to make another penny off him, I hope he leaves on a free.
  18. Also add Carter, Wharton and Pickering to that too.
  19. Wage saving, every little helps our poor billionaire owners.
  20. If our 10k passive home fans are too much for these poor little lambs then they are probably in the wrong game.
  21. Looks like we're just loaning Gueye. Any option to buy will be discarded when they have seen him run offside for the 20th time.
  22. It's only a bad thing if football results are the main priority. Here, they aren't. So it doesn't matter to anyone above us peasants.
  23. Doesn't really make sense though, if that was the case then surely he wouldn't have gone to Spain with them. Unless it came afterwards of course which is more daft in itself.
  24. They aren't bothered about that. Look at bundling Hyam out of the door on deadline day without a replacement, and letting a senior striker go outside of our transfer window as proof.
