The January 2026 Transfer Window
MarkBRFC replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Also baffling that according to Nixon we bid £3m for Smit, yet we're lowballing Cleary and Cadamatari with bids of 750k-1.5m. Something not adding up as per. -

Probably won't even be him. -

Putting all there eggs in the basket for that Sheffield Wednesday game. Win that and they will be banging on about it for ages. -

27, but I am including Garrett who is eligible to be registered but very likely won't be. -

Currently have 27 players that can be registered, I'll be amazed if someone hasn't left by the end of the window. If and I know we won't, we sign Cleary then I don't think he would have to be registered this season due to his age. -

Yeah WBA are right in it. Far too much football to be played to say "x is definitely going down" apart from Sheffield Wednesday of course. -

Not sure about 4 left footers in a back 4! Miller at right back in that formation surely?! -

Shows where we are when we're longing for a strike force in a side that finished 15th in this league. I do agree by the way. -
4-0 up after an hour. "Trialist" scoring with his first touch.

I don't think so, get a better wage and play at a higher level for a few months, and put yourself in the shop window even more. At best we stay up and he either moves on after impressing or he has another season with us to show what he can do at this level. At worst, he ends up back at the level he was playing on anyway, for more money I presume. If Barnsley were in the running to go up, then maybe it wouldn't be worth the risk. I suspect other clubs will be in for him this week anyway so it won't matter. -
Presume looking at that line up that Tyjon is playing as the out and out striker?

I'm not sure about that. Play at a higher level for a few months to show he can do it at this level and then it would be probably be sold to him that he can make a better move to a more ambitious club in the summer, plus i'm guessing even 2026 Venky Rovers can give him a better salary than he's currently on at Barnsley. -

Yep I think so. Jorgensen and Cleary either side of Gudjohnsen would suggest going to a 4231 or if they want to keep 3 at the back a 343. Not that it's going to happen though. -

Don't think it's any doubt that our interest is true. They won't get it over the line though because they won't pay what Barnsley want. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

I dont think 50 points will be needed to stay up this season, which is a good job because we aren't getting there with this bloke. -

If Nixon is correct, which i presume he isnt, that we did lodge a £3m bid for Smit but Stoke beat us on wages. Why wouldn't we put the same money in for Cleary? And not waste there time with a 500k or so improvement on the last bid? I imagine even we could give this guy an improvement in wages? Something just doesn't ring true about the whole episode. -

Hull are flying. Won at Southampton and Preston in there last two away games, we'll be no bother for these. Rovers 0 Hull 2 in there most comfortable afternoon of the season. -

They are both really poor. I'm not comparing them to us, i know how bad we can be, just based on what I have seen from them. Both of them are right in it with us and its impossible to say who stays and who goes out of those 3. Turned it off and they go and equalise! -

Looks like we'll be out of the relegation zone for the next week at least. Portsmouth are really poor. -

There game in hand is away at Charlton, which i don't think has a date put in yet. Could be huge when that comes around. -

Must be a slow news day for Nixon. Not a chance that is happening. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
MarkBRFC replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yep, but just for clarification... 1, Football results aren't the priority here. 2, Ismael is doing exactly what this regime wants of him. -
Looks like those who boycotted are saying it was noticeable and a success, and those who didn't boycott are saying it was barely noticeable and looked like a normal crowd. Truth is it was probably somewhere in the middle, not a roaring success but not a total failure either. The constant sniping from both sets of fans on the divide though is becoming very tiring.

I think even if Leicester get deducted 10 points, I would fancy them to get more points than us over 18 games until the end of the season. I dont see either Portsmouth or Norwich winning over the next couple of days though. I thought Oxford were done for but a great result yesterday. 2 from Oxford, Portsmouth, Rovers & Charlton would be my guess, and I think it will go to the wire. -
