Does this lad qualify for a work permit or is he using up one of the allocated 4 'allowed' slots?
He will qualify for a work permit.
We only have one ESC slot available, presuming Ohashi now qualifies due to his minutes last season.

Yet he tweets things like this...
I think it's because he's not very good and its all a bit too much hassle.

We're never gonna be competitive with this shite preston already signed 5 (don't quote me on it though lad from work said they had)
Think it's 4.
People defend our slowness saying that "well none of there signings would get in our team anyway" but that misses the point, they have sorted there squad out early with what they need.
We'll still be messing about long into August because we are uncapable of getting deals done unless it's for someone that nobody else would even look at.

Absolutely no excuse to get into these situations, theres always an excuse. Mid way through the season, dont know what division we will be in, focusing on signing players, a bloody wedding. Tying down key players long term is as important as anything.
They would be better off coming out and admitting that talks haven't started because they don't want them to.
Trav, Tronstad, Hyam and Brittain are all the wrong profile for this club.
Experienced, "old", high wages, and proven at this level.
They want that lot out, to be replaced with 20-24 year old French, Belgian, Dutch players who will be on at the most half of that lot's wage.
Then they will all be sat around scratching there heads as to why when we plunge into a relegation fight.

Elliot saying that "internal discussions" have Hedges moving back over to the right wing next season, probably so they don't have to bother with a Dolan replacement.

Don't want him to start, but it's not a surprise...
Hence "moving back" over.
You are correct that the vast majority of his games for us, and other clubs have been on the right wing.

If it is legit then I do see some logic in bringing in another left sided player. Hedges is crap and Kargbo's hammys have a 90% chance of going every time he breaks into a sprint.

Talks "not progressing" on Sagnan is the most predictable thing in that article.

Putting Barry Ferguson in his greatest Rovers side is certainly a choice!

Left back. Strange.
Before last season it looks like he played the majority of his games as a left sided midfielder.
11 hours ago, roversfan99 said:How would Kargbo fit in though? A player who the club seemingly spent ages trying to sign.
And also, Gestede was quoted as saying a right winger is on the list of positions he wanted to fill.
I imagine it will still be 4231 with this lad down the left and Kargbo on the right.
Also gives the option of changing it up to a 343 with Dion as left wing back and Kargbo as a left sided forward maybe.

So you know this player then? Does he have pace?Β
My lad says his pace is 81 on Fifa if that means anything.
If he joins hopefully it's as an attacking player rather than another left back.
Who knows with this circus though.

He certainly looked better for Wales the other night than he was for us.
Probably because he was playing against pub players.

Even Nixon hasn't got anything to make up about us today.

Yeah I've always thought if the 4 lads out of contract next summer Brittain, Travis, Tronstad, Hyam stick around then we'll be fairly competitive at this level next season i think.
Couple of them leave though and replaced with inexperienced players then I think we could slide into huge trouble.

According to this article, the manager wants 90% of his squad in place by pre- season in 3 weeks, not other dates being suggested by some posters on here.
He's said that from day one.
The reason Chaddy etc are trying to make out that it meant by the pre season camp is because the know there's absolutely no chance of this happening.

Another excuse.
Players having holidays must only ever affect this club.
Weird.

Posted this on the 22nd.
Brittain "positive" contract talks and Sagnan in "advanced talks" lands on the 26th.
Nearly 2 weeks later not another word uttered on either of them.
All a smokescreen, nothing but predictable.
Surely we all know how things work here now?

Of course it was.
Advanced talks were laughable.
Called it a few days before we were linked that a name would he dropped any time now as a distraction technique.

Have I ever said that?Β
Didn't Ismael say by the Spanish pre season camp late July?
I think we have a couple in by them but not all. Maybe 3 out of the 6 or 7 signings Ismael wanted
No, he said he wanted 90% of business in by the time pre season training starts.
Which is in around 2-3 weeks away.

I'm interested to see what kind of contracts any new permanent signings get this window considering that the whole first team squad is out of contract in the next two years.

Wrexham will double or treble his wages.
We have left it too late to negotiate new deals. Fully expect the quartet of Tronstad,Β Brittain, Travis and Hyam to be sold.
To be replaced by loans or older players on 1 yearΒ contracts.Β
Venkys out
All by design.
There is no interest in negotiating new deals here.
A first team player hasn't signed a new contact here since December 2023.
Can probably more than halve the wages of them 4 by replacing them with a couple of low cost foreign signings.

I don't really know which thread to ask this question in, as it spans across all of them.
Was there ever an announcement as to who would run the club temporarily now that Waggott's gone? It's been 2 weeks now and I can't recall anything.
Suhail is running it, as allegedly he always has done.
-
Even free transfers are out of the question here as they usually entail a bigger signing on fee.
I imagine we'll start putting a few moves together in August like we did last year, loans, maybe free agents who haven't been snapped up yet that have lowered there demands etc.

Seems like on that Sagnan, 2 weeks after saying we were in advanced talks. Jackson only ever occasionally mentions it and just repeats that he has reported that. No suggestion that anything has or will happen on that.
That's because it won't, it was never a serious link.
Just something to get the fans thinking that something was happening after the bad publicity of the whole Women's team debacle , and then the CEO leaving.

I think a lot of that is just moving on with life/getting older etc.
What adult with family/work commitments etc has the time or can be arsed to watch every MOTD, Super Sunday, Champions league etc plus going to Ewood every other week, a few aways etc.
I certainly don't.
But at one time I was exactly the same, but like you don't watch much neutral footy at all these days.
It's an interesting thought though about being a kid now, my lad at 15 is absolutely Rovers obsessed, and loves playing too, yet he wouldn't even think of sitting down and watching say Liverpool vs Man City or whatever.
He takes in his viewing from short video's on youtube, tiktok or whatever, and loves playing Football Manager and Fifa, if I ask him about most players he will know about them through those means.
Even Dion De Neve caught him out though, hadn't a clue who he was!
