This season is very reminiscent of the season Big Sam left and kean was appointed.
We were 7th at the end of January and went on a horror run of only 2 wins in out last 14 games.
We ended up having to win on the last day to stay up, although in reality we were never in any real danger of going down that day and that was down to the point buffer Big Sam has managed to get until he was ridiculously sacked in December.
Can see this season being similar, thanks to JDT's great work until December, and the other sides around us being complete dross I imagine we'll stay 2/3pts clear of it for the rest of the season.
Next season, like in 10/11 is the one to worry about.

I think we will have a better idea as we go into the international break after the following games...
Today - Hudds v WBA
Tuesday- Brum vs Middlesbrough
Saturday - Middlesbrough vs Rovers, Stoke vs Norwich, Rotherham vs Huddersfield, Plymouth vs Preston, Sunderland vs QPR.
We simply have to win at Boro, as the fixtures coming back after the break don't look very good at all.
I still think we'll scrape a few more draws and one more win out of the last 9, and think some of the sides below us won't do that.
-
Just have to hope some of the dross down there end up keeping us up, and that we can scrape a couple of wins and a couple more draws in the last 10.

2 points at Ewood from losing positions in the last 10 days, more than the last 2 years combined!
Doubled our points tally over 22nd place.

Everything else.

Millwall have had a proper new Manager bounce with Neil Harris, winning their first 2 games with him in charge, and against good sides; Southampton (A), and Watford (H).
Unfortunately, I can't see them having much trouble with us. Half of our players simply aren't good enough at this level.
0-2 Millwall 😔
Normally I agree, and looking at there last couple of results everything is pointing to an away win.
However, this is the Championship and us winning tonight wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I think it would be a false dawn because i don't see us winning 2 or 3 in a row but I can definitely see us winning tonight.

We'll show some fight and win this.
Then lose to Plymouth at the weekend and the cycle starts again.

I've dismissed relegation this season for as long as it's been a thought. Always thought next season would be the time with more budget cuts and sales of anyone that can generate interest.
Even now I look at it and think with the amount of teams below us everything would have to go against us to go down.
Lose on Tuesday though and I will finally be concerned I think.
What a mess.

The Indian government could force their hand. They clearly don't want them owning us and sending significant sums of money out of the country.
No chance.
We'll carry on plodding on like this for a good while yet.

That is absolutely disgraceful.
In that time we have gone behind 19 times at Ewood, lost 17 and drew 2.

I've actually forgotten what it feels like to play slightly better in the second half and come back to draw a game.
When was the last time/how many times other than Millwall on the final day we came from behind to gain any points?
2 points won from losing positions at Ewood since March 22

Eustace's job from now until May is to keep us in the league. The pragmatic approach, whilst hard to watch at times, is actually exactly what we needed.
In JDT's last 12 Championship games we conceded 2.41 goals per game!
Eustace has seen us concede 4 goals against in the last 4 games
This is definitely the Eustace word for "journey" or "project". Never read the word so many times!
For what it's worth me and the lad went last night with it being our half term, thought the side looked a bit leggy and really off it on the ball until Buckley came on.
Cardiff still managed to create 3 or 4 good openings though and would have beat us quite easily with better finishing.
Happy with the point and clean sheet, but still think there some heavy defeats to come yet this season. Luckily with at least 5 or 6 sides as bad as us around us I think that keeps us up.
Next season is going to be horrific though I feel, we'll make Rotherham look competitive.

I don’t think there are any red button games this week.
Its not a "traditional" midweek round of games that's why, these are games that have been rearranged because of cup commitments.
Although home clubs can opt for it to be shown at there own discretion.
More likely is that Rovers will announce at about 5/6pm tomorrow that you can purchase it for £10.

Never been more certain of a defeat in my life.
Rovers just don't do these long Tuesday night away games well at all.
Cardiff 2 Rovers 0

.On a side note, weirdly I have a lot of family connections in Birmingham and they’re never shy of chatting shit about Rovers vs their beloved blues and to a man, they love Eustace - “brilliant man manager, tactically sound, we scored goals and kept them out”. Every single one of them want him back and two of them are tipping him to get us promoted next season!!!
Your friends must all be full of hyperbole.
Didn't one of them say that we were playing the best football he had ever seen after a 3-1 defeat to Watford during covid?!

We also:-
• Failed to beat Oldham in the league in League one
• Have a negative (4/11/5) record against Huddersfield
* Got put out of the League Cup by Morecambe in our only ever meeting.
We beat Bury twice in league one though.
Which if you think about it is an incredible feat considering a good portion of our fanbase think we would be where they are without our wonderful owners.

I would expect Greg to be on his way at the end of the season. Amazed that he has not walked out already!
Can't imagine Gregg is giving this gig up easily, he's in a position that he doesn't look remotely qualified for to me.
He moves on and he's taking a huge backwards step in terms of club, position, and salary at his next job IMO.

Travis fell out with the manager
So? Are they both that unprofessional that they couldn't get on with there jobs for a few more weeks and see where the landscape was at the end of the window?
It was purely financial and that's all there is to it.

Like the home game, they will be far too strong both physically and mentally or our poor little lambs.
Preston 3 Rovers 0.

1 game and it's already Eustace out. Wow. I've not looked, but I bet there have been a few of our best managers that have lost their first game.
Kenny lost his first official game away at Swindon, then got pumped 3-0 by Southend a couple of weeks later.
Souness only won 3 of his first 10 in charge.
Hughes only won 2 of his first 15 in charge.
While last night was dire of course it's not always a new manager bounce, the squad is unbalanced and poor, and will only stay up because there are 3 worse teams below us, no matter who is in the dug out.

Bottom 3 will be Rotherham, Sheff Wed and Stoke.
3 Woeful sides that will save us.

Needs to get himself on a plane to India in the summer to tell them how amazing they are, that's the only way you get a bit of backing with these fools.
