Thought it was the FD who was retiring
Could be I have no idea, just remember seeing that someone was retiring and thought I saw it was Silvester.

Also wasn't it confirmed on here that Silvester is retiring anyway and working his notice period?! Or was that someone else I lose track.

will eustace be able to bring his own coaching team in?????????
I imagine he will bring one or two with him, for some bizarre reason thought Lowe and Benson must stay.

There are lots of good young coaches in current employment but we won't get any of them. I don't think we have appointed a manager who was in work and had to pay compensation, it's a bit like exploiting the free transfer market. That narrows it down a bit.
I think, but might be wrong, that we paid to get Appleton from Blackpool all those years ago for some reason.

Agree. It's a daft idea to target the Newcastle game. They're a deluded lot who think they support the biggest club in the world. They look down on us like they do most clubs and we won't get any sympathy from them let alone support
Don't think its a bad idea at all to target the Newcastle game, we probably won't have another game as high profile all season.
Just not sure getting there fanbase on board will work.

I think the Newcastle game is a very good one to target
If people could make contact with the Newcastle Supporter Group I reckon they would be on side too. They have had their fair share of problems with owners...although not quite on this scale
I dont think Newcastle supporter groups are interested in that sort of thing, now there club is sorted they laugh at clubs like us.
They had 3000 leaflets printed taking the piss out of Everton when they played at Goodison recently.

2009 the last time we beat these at home in the league.
3 draws and 5 defeats in the league since, with the one FA Cup win back in 2015.
Can't see anything changing here, Rovers 0 Stoke 3

McGuire left Brockhall this morning with his mum in a vehicle from Rovers. Allegedly going to Manchester, but can’t get 100% info on whether it’s for the day, for the night, or in a car full of bags never to come back.
I have a feeling which one it is.

Is the press conference completely cancelled or are they just going to have a senior player sit there and take some questions?

Ths deal says there is a big loan fee involved plus if we do decide to take up the option to sign him it will cost more than the £2.3m we were due to pay
Classic venkys.
The loan fee will be a lot less than the 2.3m, and despite the obvious spin there will be no intention of making it a permanent deal.

Think he turned 22 last December
That's if he goes abroad I think.
24 if he stays in this country.

get Dolan sold before he walks for free, in my opinion not a great loss.
He wouldn't go on a free anyway as he's under 24, although no idea what he would fetch at a tribunal.

I think its clear they see Dolan and Siggy as wing backs to be honest, I wouldn't expect any recruitment there.
They don't even want to sign a midfielder by the sounds of it.

Yes, just as those in the heat of the moment are when watching the game.

I think we need a few players in yes 100%...
But..
Just a thought on not going mad today / tomorrow and becoming desperate because:
1. We have some players coming back.
2. We get a stop gap (the old guy).
3. Unless we go really pete tongue it's unlikely we are going to get relegated or push for play offs.
We may as well take a sensible approach (I know) and recruit properly in the summer. We all know January desperation moves often don't work out.
Just a thought..
Would love to know what you have seen in the last 13 years to think this is a possibility.

Injured, Travis is on loan. We're already stretched.
Nobody above JDT cares about that.

So who are we replacing him with?
Buckley.

Shows that we're brilliant against division 3/4 sides.

We need a CM too if Wharton leaves.
Maybe we'll look at that QPR CM (forgot his name)
Buckley is Wharton's replacement.
Garrett is Travis's replacement.
Ajari bought in to sit on the bench as another "option".

Seems strange for us to let him go without a bidding war that will no doubt happen in the summer.
We in no rush to sell (4.5 year deal) so it’s strange to let him go at the first bidder.
CPFC is not a great move for him stylistically. Roy doesn’t play football, they bypass midfield, and will probably mis-profile him as a 10, as he’s ’good on the ball’.
Think his dad and agent have Mis advised him if he ends up there
Unfortunately we have bills to pay thanks to our illustrious owners.
However it's dressed up, that is the reason why it is being rushed through in this window.

I just don't see McGuire happening.
There is a perfect get out now by claiming the new head coach doesn't want him.
