Neither am I. I was reading this article about "Loudness Wars" the other week and it seems that it's quite common to find you've paid for a badly produced album. My son is into the Red Hot Chili Peppers and it seems they are one of the worst offenders. RHCP on Hydrogenaudio Loudness War.

I bought this and their last album The Back Room too. They're both great albums, just a pity about the compression on the new album causing some distortion in playback. I wish they wouldn't keep doing that when they record cd's. I've noticed the same with some Oasis albums too.
